I recently went to SSK for a breast augmentation consultation, and while I appreciated that they still accommodated me when I arrived a little late due to parking issues, my overall experience was disappointing. My consultation was with Valerie, and unfortunately her approach made me very uncomfortable. She took photos and said the doctor would review them and follow up, but I never heard from him. During the consultation she pointed out that my nipples were "pointing down" and compared me to a photo of an older woman with sagging breasts. Her tone came across as condescending, she spoke extremely fast, and she even used curse words. Afterward, she brought up my being late in a negative way and criticized my previous breast surgery. She also focused heavily on pricing, which felt rushed and more sales-driven than patient-centered. I want to be clear: this review is not meant to hurt Valerie. I'm baaaack & as an official patient! As much as I'd love to talk about my amazing experience with my lift & augmentation, this review is really for the events that unfolded afterwards. Unfortunately despite my best efforts in resting, I ruptured a blood vessel and ended up in the ER on Christmas Day. I was in absolutely excrutiating pain, embarrassingly screaming with no comfortable position to lay in while I was there for about 6 hours. Radiographs, an ultrasound & CT scan of my breasts led the doctor & surgeon to believe I had a "small bleed" and prescribed meds. My husband contacted Dr. Kelishadi who asked me to come in the following morning for a hematoma repair surgery right before he flew out to celebrate his birthday as he knew this bleed would not resolve on its own. My husband hadn't slept, so my best friend & her bf picked me up right after I was discharged from the ER at 11pm to drive from Oakland, CA to Newport Beach. Dr. Kelishadi gathered his team last minute to be able to perform this surgery and the moment I woke up from Anesthesia, I felt SO much relief. i get brought to tears(might be my emotions post op lol) thinking about how grateful I am for everyone here. From the beginning, my experience with Dr Kelishadi and his team was wonderful. I had an appointment with her within a couple of days. Things are kind of a blur from there as everything happened so fast and I was trying to process having breast cancer. My oncology surgeon told me I had to heal from my mommy makeover before I could have my second surgery, a bilateral mastectomy. I stayed in touch with Dr Kelishadi throughout that time and he was very helpful in answering my questions etc. regarding my second surgery and the outcome of it all. I am a woman in my 40's who's been through many ups and downs in life, as we all go through. After my divorce, and raising a daughter as a single mom, I realized the sacrifices us women make to try and provide a better life for our children. However, letting myself go or not leaning in to listen to my body wasn't doing myself or my daughter any good. My energy levels was the main concern I had when I decided to talk to Dr. Sherry. What's interesting is I wasn't at the consult initially for hormone replacement therapy. I knew this because my OBGYN also carries the same line of products and seems most medical grade offices or pharmacies carry this brand and you can not find it at a local grocery store. The day of Pellet insertion, the nurse who was following Dr. Sherry's instructions was excellent. She numbed the area (one side of butt cheek) and Dr. Sherry was very supportive and there the entire time. She's beautiful inside and out and even offered me to hold her hand if I felt any pain. But I tell you, I felt nothing...the whole process was very quick and we had a few chuckles as well. Dr. Sherry called me the next day to check on me and throughout. I just had my second blood draw which was reviewed and all is great so far. The pellets are to last 4-6 months depending. I can tell you it's only been a bit over two months and I feel fantastic. Oh , where do I begin? I'll try to make this short and sweet ... prior to moving from the East Coast to Orange County , I was on a search for the BEST board certified plastic surgeon that specializes in breast revisions and anything breast related , and with much research (because that's what I do) Do your research ladies , don't settle because someone is "cheap" or you found a Groupon for the love of God , avoid that!! I was greeted by the most amazing staff! Kind, happy, and comforting. I filled out all of my health questionnaires , got into my robe and then my first set of pics were taken . Not once did I feel uncomfortable, not once . Then Dr. Kelashadi came in to assess me and we made the decision together based off of my desired outcome . He took into consideration my shape (I'm small and have an athletic build ) He knew not to just stuff my breasts like most surgeons do. On the day of the surgery, I wasn't nervous at all, if anything I was excited like a kid on Christmas morning! Everyone in the surgery center was beyond amazing . Dr. Kelashadi marked me and discussed with me one more time to assure me that we're on the same page and my goodness , that made me feel even safer! He wound up doing a full reconstruction (which we discussed may happen at the first visit) since I had my previous breast implants in for 10 years and my implants were incapsulated . I woke up from my surgery and was so happy as expected . He understood the assignment !! I came to Dr. K and his team in February 2024 for my surgery based off his reviews and Instagram where he shows a lot of his work.
