I've shown up during your normal business hours and every time, there's a big closed sign posted on your door. If you do go, don't follow my lead. Definitely call first. As for me and my vegetarian cravings - I'll need to find another. I drove another 10 minutes and found another Indian restaurant (Punjabi Dhaba) Dixon right off the freeway. I want to like this place but I just can't get behind it. We've been here 3 times for take out, none of the times have been great but this last time was the kicker. I got there at 6:30 on a Wednesday evening, no one was in there, the guy that owns the place is nice which I think why I want to like this place but $45 for two chicken Tikka masala orders and 2 naan breads for an express place was steep then for it to be ready in less than 5 minutes for me to get it home and the chicken be cold on the inside and the sauce be luke warm and then for it to be an abnormal pinkish/orangish color, not the traditional Tikka color was too much. The first bite it tasted off, by the 3rd bite (after heating it) it was so gross and off I couldn't eat anymore and neither would my kids. It was a complete and total waste of money. Fantastic for the convenience and price! Good deal with large serving of rice and perfectly cooked chicken in a flavorful curry. The naan was pretty good, maybe a little too fluffy so it absorbed all of the oils, leaving less of the flavor available. The first impression when you walk in is very decorative and fun, but they still have some supplies they are storing in the hallway towards the restroom. They also serve all of the curry dishes in to-go containers on a normal plate. Convenient because you'll like take some home but not fancy. Very kind servers who ask for feedback on the dishes. Would 100% come back. Might be a new staple because of the cheaper prices that maintain quality food compared to others. read more

Three of us just had lunch at SS Currey Express. We highly recommended this small, family restaurant. Everything was delicious and cooked to order so we could choose the spiciness level. One of us does not tolerate hot, spicy food, and the butter chicken was perfectly flavorful even though it was very mild. Prawn curry was generous and delicious as was the lamb curry. All four of our plates were fresh and made to order. The lamb in my curry was so tender and delicious, and the spice level was just right. The chicken curry was equally good. The food was amazing and the chef was very friendly, attentive, and asked us how we liked our food. We will definitely go back. I have literally gone here every single week for the past month. They are honestly that good. I drive all the way from Fairfield just to get food from here. This new restaurant in Dixon is wonderful and definitely worth visiting. I've tried the vegetable korma, chicken curry, samosas, and naan, and all of the food was delicious and healthy, much like a dinner cooked at home and served to family and not overly oily like sometimes encountered at other Indian restaurants (I'm Indian). While I like spicy food, the "mild" version of the dishes from this restaurant were truly mild and enough so to be happily eaten by my two young daughters. I also want to mention that it's a peaceful place to have lunch or dinner, with lots of seating indoors, and is not expensive. We'll definitely be back. read more

Great little find this place just opened about a month ago and so far their food is pretty good. The owner seemed to be great and wanted feedback on his food overall the environment of the restaurant is nice. As of right now the restaurant isn't busy I'm guessing because they are new but I do see this place becoming popular once people find out about their delicious curry. This might be my go to place that's close to home instead of driving to Sacramento. Service was very great food came out in a timely matter and have no complaints about this place it's very clean and filled with friendly staff who are willing to break down what the food is and what they recommend. Wow! The butter chicken was so delicious. Ladies at my table kept wanting more sauce. So affordable.

Good food and they have dosa! Hard to find around the Sacramento area. Butter chicken is delicious, as are all their curries. Fast service too! If you get any of the dosas, which I highly recommend, eat it there so you get the fresh, crispy goodness. It doesn't travel very well, but is still delicious. I'm not a fan of their tandoori chicken, but that's just my personal taste. read more

I came here because I have been craving butter chicken and I noticed this place opened up not too long ago. I was greeted once I came in (lunch time) and handed a menu, the gentlemen was nice enough to walk me through the list, food came out pretty quickly and interaction with the staff was great, they made sure my food was correct and suggested some dipping sauces that would compliment my samosas. Really nice guys working the counter. Wanted to check out and support the new establishment. We got takeout on a Friday night- was prepared to order and quickly. The chicken biryani and tikka masala very good. I'll order the tikka spicy next time since the medium wasn't as spicy as I'm used to. The samosas were bomb too. Unfortunately I can't give this place a good review and I was really hoping it was good. I would love to not have to drive to Sacramento for good Indian food. The raita smelled weird like eggs. The butter chicken was very bland. The plain rice was fine. The naan was weird. It was cooked on a flat top rather than a tandoor so it had no flavor. The food made my stomach hurt. Somewhat hidden across the parking lot from Walmart, across from a Mexican restaurant, SS Currey Express is a true find. After ordering at the counter, we shared a chicken biriyani. It was a large portion and there was enough left to take home. The preparation was excellent with the right amount of spices. We each drank a refreshing mango lassi. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Lamb biryani is very tasty and delicious, it had around 7- 8 boneless pieces (even more than that!!!) with flavorful and tasty Basmati rice. Do try their 'goat curry and roti' as well. We had a wonderful family dinner. read more

Omg we just stopped here for a quick bite after a day in Napa and as much as I love Napa and the food we ate today this was the BEST!! So good!! I had the vegetable biryani and my sister had the chicken biryani with a side of naan bread with their taziki yogurt and we split the Chana masala ( garbanzo bean soup) - so flavorful- holy moly the naan was freshly made and the taziki was so delicious and the soup we poured over our plates of biryani , best food of the day !!
