As soon as we walked in the door, we immediately loved Spuds! I ordered the Canadian Baked Potato, and it was AMAZING! Their potatoes were extremely good Idaho potatoes. The bacon, cheese, and sour cream were also amazing. Their huckleberry lemonade was also great. The service was very good, as they were very helpful to us. My friends go through Sandpoint every year in July. Spuds is a regular spot for their annual trip. I walked in thought it was too crowded and a bit disorganized. Well I was so wrong! Best lunch spot for soups, sandwiches, and salads. Amazing dessert list that rotated frequently and known for their potatoes you can get loaded a few different ways. Wonder why they named it Spuds. This place usually has up to 6 soups and always vegetarian and gluten free options! Pro Tip: always get one of the soups. They are the best in the area. Their breads are really good too which help make the sandwiches amazing. My favorite is the twisted BLT! Pair it w some soup! Did I mention they have the best soups? They also have a small but strong beer list and any hot drinks you need. I believe they are open for dinner seasonally too but it's basically my Saturday lunch spot. It's a small space but a lot of people do takeout so finding seating isn't usually a problem. When the weather is nice there is a large deck out back for seating with a view of the town marina. I know I said this before but the soups are amazing, and the desserts are too so save some room. Really not a bad option on the menu here. read more

When we first moved to Sandpoint two years ago, we mistakenly thought Spuds was just a baked potato place. Then we discovered the yummy homemade soups and delicious sandwiches! Now it is our favorite lunch place in town. The staff is always friendly and the food is freshly-prepared. Even though you order at the counter, the staff comes around to deliver the food and see if you need anything throughout the meal. In the summer, the deck is a fun place to dine! My wife and I stopped in to break up our Winter stroll through Sandpoint, and I'm thrilled we decided to do so. What a gem. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. All of them. They seem really happy to be there for the diners. We both had the special, which was a falafel sandwich. I'm not sure why it sounded so good, as I'm generally the guy who orders a cheese steak or an Italian sub. I can't vouch for how good those options might have been, but I certainly don't regret my selection. The ingredients were extremely fresh and each flavor was distinctive, yet all blended to resemble a combination of classic falafel, a fine gyro and even a bit of Caesar salad combined in a wonderfully fresh baked sub roll. That bread was spot on. We also both had a cup of soup. She ordered the tomato basil, and I opted for a potato/dill/sour cream concoction. I enjoyed mine, but hers was otherworldly. I spent 20 minutes convincing her that she should just concentrate on finishing the quite sizable sandwich and leave the soup until last. My technique worked, as she hit a wall with half of her soup yet. I quickly liberated her of the burden. I've never had a more rustic, acidic version of this classic. There were very small pieces of tomato that were still firm. What a phenomenal take on what is in too many places a pedestrian-like fancy tomato juice. There was one more touch, while seemingly rather minor, which I believe captures their dedication to their craft. If you order water, you can self-serve with a choice amongst regular, cucumber or lemon steeped. Great place. We will return each time we visit Sandpoint. read more

The flavors were tasty, but the sausage patty was burned on one side and the English muffin way too brown. Had to ask for jam and never was offered a coffee refill. The bread was nice and fresh which my toddler enjoyed . My husband had the half rotisserie chicken which was tasty . They also offer gluten free options which I appreciate . This grill has been a favorite of mine for years. I visit every time I pass through Sandpoint! On my most recent trip, I ordered the grilled chicken caesar. It was a hearty salad with house-made croutons and dressing. The caesar dressing was not very creamy, but full of great garlic flavor. It also came with a huge roll. Perfect salad for a hot summer afternoon. The huckleberry lemonade was also good, although the berry flavor seemed a bit overpowered by the lemon. We sat on the back deck to enjoy the marina views. The seating was comfortable and there was plenty of shade to keep us cool as we dined. Can't wait to visit again! read more

I love baked potato's it is a major comfort food for me so Spuds has always been one of my favorite places plus they have an amazing back porch that is great to sit out on enjoy your food and have a great time with friends! I haven't had much else here except the potato's and a few different sandwiches but anything that I have had was amazing. it is not a typical restaurant where you sit and order off of a menu, you have to order and pay before you sit which for a large group or family is a little inconvenient but the great food and staff make up for that! I had visited Spuds in 2014, and I still remember how much I loved my sandwich! Now that we're visiting again, I couldn't wait to come back to Spuds! I couldn't remember what sandwich I had last time, but the Capistrano sounded familiar, so that's what I ordered. My husband & I were going to share a baked potato since that's what they're known for. Imagine our disappointment when they said they were out of spuds! How do you run out of spuds in Idaho? They were also out of huckleberry lemonade. The sandwich was good, definitely did not taste any habanero sauce in it. Probably out of habaneros too. So why the 4 stars? Aside from the service of this place being confusing as well as their hours, the food is delicious and the people are very friendly. I really like all their drink selections and all their food selections. The chicken basil sandwich is one of my favorites. I wish they could streamline how they do business better, I see so many people walking confused about the ordering process. I think that is because sometimes you order for yourself and pick up, and sometimes you get waited on by waiters and waitresses. A+! Spuds is my absolute favorite restaurant in all of Sandpoint for breakfast and lunch. The food is delicious, fresh, and always made so beautifully. The ordering system is different than most restaurants (you walk in, order food at the beginning of the counter, order/receive drinks & pay at the end of the counter, then find your own seat and wait for your food to come out) but is so convenient for the space that they are in. The staff are kind and knowledgeable and I always have a great time here with friends, family, coworkers, etc. The restaurant have a casual vibe and the food is exquisite- with great portion sizes, I always leave with leftovers! An employee named Hannah S truly made my last experience one to remember. She was kind, cheerful, and made my family and I feel right at home. First to know: it's an order then sit down type of place. But don't let that scare you off. Second: outdoor seating, you want it. The food is very good. Sandwiches are excellent, soup was great, spud was just right, salad perfect, and the staff was excellent. The only thing I found strange, "no blue cheese dressing at lunch". If only there were a Lighthouse a few blocks away. Oh well, the dressing we had was excellent nonetheless. read more
