We went to the Hampstead theatre to watch a play (cell mates), which was great, and a nice little theatre. Found Sprinkles near the tube station afterwards. We walk in and begin looking at the large gelato selection. We try looking around for a menu or any sort of display or board but nothing. Also, both visible employees had their backs turned to us for 5 minutes while we decided on our own and waited for them to realize people walked in 5 min ago. Finally the tall bearded gentleman walks over and just looks at us. Typical London customer service. He couldn't even be bothered to welcome us, say hello, inquire if we had any questions, nothing. We tell him we each want two scoops in a waffle cone. He didn't ask if we wanted any samples or even ask what flavors. We had to take the reigns and lead him to the flavors we wanted. I asked for brownie on bottom and mint oreo on top. He creams a bunch of brownie on bottom, great start! Then puts a tiny chunk of mint on top and tries to hand it to me. I ask, "oh that's it for the oreo? He says, "you want more?" No guy, I'd like to have far less product than I paid for......come on.
He handed us our cones, then requested 9 pounds while still wearing his gloves. I have him time to remove them while I gathered my paper money but nope, he kept the gloves on and took the money and made change. Come on... Why even bother wearing gloves dude?
We say thank you, like polite humans, he says nothing. Nor does he offer us spoons or even napkins. I had to reach behind the counter to snag my own napkins.
The gelato was pretty good. Have you ever had bad? Lol. Just don't expect any level of service or a good atmosphere. read more
