Very good ice cream spot with mainly classic flavors but well made. Service is quick and efficient and prices are fair given the quality and in comparison with other places. I had a cone with Hazelnut and Almonds that I really liked despite the almond ice cream being a bit too sweet.

Best gelato in London!!! I get gelato here regularly. It taste the most authentic you can find outside of Italy.

One Scoop: Pistachio, Salted Caramel (£2.30)

Oddono's is a quaint ice cream parlor worth dropping by if you happen to find yourself in South Ken. The gelato served here is creamy, flavorful, and dense - just as any good gelato should be. Among all the flavors I sampled, the common theme was that none were overly sweet. I would recommend trying out the pistachio and hazelnut if it's your first time. Prices here are quite reasonable as well. One scoop costs £2.30, and it increases by a pound until you reach four scoops at £5.30. They generously pack those spoonfuls in though, so the small was more than enough for me.

It does not matter what the weather is like in London, gelato is always good (even if you are shivering as you eat it). Oddono's is small and they do not have a huge selection of flavors. What they do have is good and a mix of the basic to a few more fun options. It is also okay to try a couple flavors (as long as you are buying, though I'm not sure what they could really do if you just had some samples and left). This is the only place I have seen salted caramel gelato (my current favorite ice cream flavor) so I was pretty excited about it. The chocolate hazelnut is also a solid choice. It was so good we ended up coming back a second time.

Mmm Mmm Mmm. Man is this ice cream good! I recently tried Oddono's at an ice cream festival - only a small taster but they got me hooked so I had promised to go to one of their stores and take my bf who LOVES ice cream (who doesn't?). Oddono's have 5 ice cream parlours around London but the closest to us is in South Ken so after a picnic in Kensington Gardens (we ate an obscene amount to then gorge ourselves on ice cream but hey!) we toddled off to South Kensington. The store is off a main street and to quote my bf it felt like 'a street that South Ken forgot' with kebab shops, corner shops and a lotta litter on the pavement. I therefore expected Oddono's to be empty but it was so busy and now I know why! Inside there are seats, standing space and then at the front a lovely freezer full of their homemade delicious ice cream. Decor wise it feels a bit dated but the prices are reasonable and the staff so so friendly. Currently if you check in on Yelp you receive a free scoop of ice cream in either a cone or cup. We both therefore checked in and were offered any flavour we liked. I couldn't decide between 2 and so was told I could have my scoop with 2 flavours (surely that's 2 scoops?) so I jumped at the offer and got pistachio and hazelnut, milk chocolate. My bf went for salted caramel and was a bit gutted he hadn't asked for 2 but that was his own fault! The scoops were bloomin huge - very generous of them. And all 3 flavours were brilliant! Can't recommend this place enough! The only reason it isn't 5* is because it doesn't do anything different.

With stormy weather on the way apparently, I'm taking advantage of what has been quite a good summer to squeeze in as much ice cream as I can. Oddono's is serious gelato as evidenced by the fact that they're stocked by none less than Selfridges. However, I prefer this location which has some outdoor seating and seems a much nicer way to sit and relax while licking your chosen icy treat The design of gelato shops however does seem to leave something to be desired as they often cause queues which prevent you from seeing clearly what flavours are available. I always worry about nipping round the side to see the other flavours and then losing my place in the queue. Like any self-respecting gelato shop, you can ask for a mix of flavours on your cone, whatever size you plump for. That was a trick I learned from watching other customers Free samples are available if you can't make your mind up. I'm a sucker for the more refreshing fruit flavours and sorbets in the summers and go for the creamier full bodied flavours as the temperature falls. Lastly, my Chinese Thrift Gene is satisfied with a 'small cone' costing £2.30 with a mountain of 2 flavours of gelato. A perfect place for dessert after a meal at one of the many local restaurants

Oddono's Gelati Italani

Italian gelato is one of my favorite desserts, and by this I mean I can eat it everyday! Oddono's Gelati is just about as close as I've come to experiencing the romance of Italian gelato heaven without leaving the United Kingdom. The gelato is fresh and natural, and is served in flavours such as nocciola, honey, ginger, coconut, etc. There is also a fine selection of sorbets and ice cream cakes.

Pistachio gelato is quite good!

pastichio gelato, as good as the ones I've had in Italy! Definitely worth a trip over if you're close by. I came here after going to the museums (V&A and Natural History Museum). It's not too far and is totally worth checking out. So good!

Peanut butter gelato and chocolate and coconut sorbets (nice, lighter in taste and texture)

Oddono's has been trading in London for 12 years now and having tried their produce a couple of times I was never disappointed. Strolling past Sth Ken today I decided to visit their Mothership in Bute Street. I opted for two gelato flavours (peanut butter and caramel with fig) counterbalanced by two lighter but unusual sorbets: chocolate and coconut. While the first pair was fully flavoured and rich having 8% fat content (as per their website) the 0% sorbets were much much softer and dilute in comparison. The sorbets were still good, mind you, just different and the difference has to be appreciated before making the choice. If I go gelato I prefer to go hard but its good to have a choice - sunny days wouldn't feel so good if it wasn't for rain.

While I only checked-in twice, I came here just about every evening on my trip to London. My grandmother had the gelato the first night and was determined to have it every night thereafter! It is a small location nestled in a side street, but it is definitely worth the little walk off the main road to have a sweet evening treat. There are two small tables outside, as welll as some tables and booths inside the shop. Along the back wall is the case of gelato as well as some featured small gelato cakes and frozen treats. I changed up the flavors every night but must admit that my favorites were the baccio and the stracciatellla. Though we had different servers every evening, I have to say that the service was fantastic every night that we visited. I would definitely recommend this spot for some quality smooth gelato if you are in South Kensington!

Last week though, we were all disappointed and I felt quite embarrassed having invited friends from across the city just for dinner here. The staff were friendly as always but the food took ages. I think it was 40 minutes before we received our first plates (4 small slices at a time). They were okay but no way near as good as before. Supposedly they have a new chef *sigh*. Way too much anchovy and odd toppings. We felt like they were deliberately trying to stop us eating a lot by providing us with really strange pizza toppings. Also, the dishes kept taking ages (maybe 20 or 30 minutes between dishes). This was definitely annoying as we had come on an empty(ish) stomach so that we could really stuff our faces. I really hope Ice & Slice up their game during the promotional deals. I don't think I'll be bringing friends back here. Despite that, ordering online still is amazing and the potato, pesto, cheese and sausage is one of the best photos I've ever had!

I had passed Gelato Mio a few times on the bus but it wasn't until a gloriously sunny day after a long hot walk through Bishop's Park did I finally get a taste. The shop isn't very big and for some crazy reason the counter is quite close to the shop window and the blazing sun but other than that Gelato Mio is my heaven on earth. I've been back more times that I care to admit and I am still seriously contemplating getting one of their take away containers and quickly getting it home in a cab, something that would cost me near £20 just for ice cream! Believe me it is worth it. The scoops are generous and all the classic flavours are there. My favourites are Fragola (strawberry) and Pistaccio where my husband's fav is Stracciatella for the rich chocolate chips. My father loves ice cream and he had only just been in town a few weeks before I made my discovery. During that visit he asked if there was anywhere to go for good ice cream near where we live in Putney. If only I had known about this place when he was here. Sigh. I know they have several locations (including St. Pancras) but I've only been to the Fulham branch. The quality is impeccable so I would bet they are all the same. I better go, I have a cab to call and space in my freezer!

So I first went for a coffee to a neaby place that I regularly go to so I was surprised when I saw this place on my way home. I frequently pass by this road but I had never seen this place until yesterday, when I walked it by. This means that this place is easy to miss and probably in the wrong location. It looks like it has just open, all brand new and shiny. At first, it looks like it is a small ice cream shop where you quickly buy your ice cream from and eat it out. However, there is a seating area at the back, which I only noticed when the person that served us mentioned it as we were keen to sit down. The seating area is really quiet and calming, just what I needed. The place was empty, so that helped too. There is a comfy corner sofa as well as a few tables with benches. They also offer hot drinks so it is a nice alternative to the usual coffee shop, particularly as they also have wifi, so a good spot to do some work while sipping your coffee or enjoying a lovely Italian gelato. I guess the downside is that the seating area is inside so not the best option when it is sunny outside. Now, on to the gelato itself.... they were really great! I love ice-cream, although I am not ice cream connoisseur, but these tasted delicious to me. I tried several flavours, as I wasn't sure which ones to order and the person that served us encouraged us to taste them first instead, which was great. So I tasted a few and in the end I had the strawberry one (sooo yummy! very creamy and natural), the chocolate and hazelnut one (if you like Nutella, go for it, enough said!) and the banana and kiwi (again, very creamy and natural, it didn't have the strong flavour that the others had but it was very nice too) The person that served us was also attentive and nice. The person I went with mentioned that it would fit better to have a bubbly and outgoing person instead behind the counter, as the girl was an Italian girl kind of shy and quiet. For me, she contributed to the calmness I felt in the place, which is what I was after, so she helped to make the experience pleasant. The one thing that I will say though is that I found it too pricey, at £2.90 for one scoop. This will mean that rather than go there every time I feel like an ice cream (or even just a coffee, knowing that I would definitely have an ice cream too once I see them), I will just go for an occassional treat, shame :(

In fact, I would have missed Amorino except for others in my group were not amused by a Pub with a namesake associated with a sensitive body piercing. Plus, they are gelato fanatics so this place pulled them in like a moth to flame. It is a clean, well-run shop with plenty of flavors available. The display case was quite appealing, especially the written descriptions of the flavors. There is always at least 1 lactose free option as well (on the day we were there, it was Chocolate Sorbetto) and they are very hip to give you test samples before you make a decision which is a very friendly touch in favor of the customer. While this might seem to be the norm, this shop is also in a high tourist-traffic area and I would imagine that putting up with idiots on vacation all day long might get old pretty quick. Nevertheless, they seemed very welcoming and happy to serve us which is always nice to experience as a consumer. I did not sample the goods since I was wasting my calories this trip on pub suds instead of gelato. But those in my group that did partake are somewhat authoritarian experts in the craft of frozen, dairy-based desserts. And they proclaimed it to be on par with typical European style gelato. Nothing more and nothing less and it scratched the itch of a palate in need of a gelato fix. It was not cheap but nothing in the UK is. If you are in the area and in the mood, I think you can't go wrong with a stop at Amorino for a taste of good-quality gelato.

It was a huge bowl of pumpkin pie flavored frozen yogurt topped with chocolate buttons, popping candy, and a big gummy skeleton. The yogurt was sweeter than most I've had in the UK and lacked the tang you get at Frae (which I like). I am a pumpkin pie lover so I was excited about the flavor. My Spooky Moo was yummy, but the serving was too big for me. I ate it all because I paid so much and am still riding a bit of a sugar high. My friend had a vanilla and Belgian chocolate swirl with brownie bites on top and the chocolate yogurt was decadent. Very nice. Bottom line is that the price is a bit crazy and there isn't an "experience" to make up for it. When the waitress asked if my friend and I wanted a loyalty card we actually laughed.
