They did a great job installing new on off valves for water shut off and sprinklers. Jose also has great ideas.

Dr Sprinkler

We recently had a complete sprinkler system installed in our front yard, and it is working great!…read moreWe needed three zones: one for the Kurapia, one for our king palm, and one for the backyard. Dr. Sprinkler handled everything from the sprinklers and drip line for the palm to the valves and controller. Logan was our lead person, and he and his team did a great job. Our Kurapia and king palm are looking great, and when we're ready, we'll have them complete the third zone in the backyard. Dr. Sprinkler did quality work at a great price. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them.

Disappointing Experience and Unwillingness to Stand Behind Their Work…read more Dr. Sprinkler doesn't even deserve 1 star. $9,200 Later, My planter Is a swamp, and Dr. Sprinkler refuses to take responsibility. I hired Dr. Sprinkler to completely redo my backyard, including removing the existing turf and road base, preparing the yard, grading it, and installing new sod. The project cost approximately $9,200. Unfortunately, what I got was a backyard with serious drainage problems that have existed since the work was completed. Bushes and flowers were planted in the planters, and almost immediately I noticed one of the bushes dying. When I dug it out to investigate, I discovered what can only be described as a swamp. The soil was saturated with standing water. I contacted Dr. Sprinkler multiple times, hoping they would come out, investigate the problem, and make things right. Instead, their explanation has consistently been that the problem is due to dense clay soil, insufficient drainage, and overwatering. Let's talk about this overwatering issue. During a heat wave, when the grass was starting to brown, I increased the sprinkler schedule from 4 minutes to 6 minutes. Apparently, according to Dr. Sprinkler, that's enough to blame the homeowner for the drainage problems. The implication is that if I don't water my lawn, or if it never rains, I wouldn't have a problem. That's not a solution. That's an excuse. After getting nowhere with Dr. Sprinkler, I had multiple independent landscaping contractors inspect the yard. The feedback was consistent: the grading and soil preparation needed to be corrected. One contractor provided an estimate of $7,308 to remove the existing lawn, excavate 4-6 inches, bring in appropriate topsoil, properly regrade the yard, and install new sod. My understanding from these inspections is that the original soil preparation was inadequate. Rather than properly preparing the yard with suitable soil and grading, the existing road base appears to have been left underneath the new sod, leaving the water with nowhere to properly drain or be absorbed. What makes this experience even worse is how Dr. Sprinkler has handled the situation. I provided photos, explained the problems, shared an independent contractor's estimate, and went through multiple emails and visits with Dr. Sprinkler. I gave them every opportunity to investigate and come up with a reasonable solution. Their response? Deny responsibility and blame the soil, the weather, and my watering schedule. I paid $9,200 for a professionally redone backyard. I shouldn't have to spend another $7,308 to fix the work I already paid someone else to do. Landscaping projects can have challenges. I understand that. But when a contractor takes thousands of dollars to redo a yard, I expect the grading and soil preparation to be done properly. And when problems arise, I expect them to stand behind their work rather than spend months making excuses and pointing fingers at the customer. I have now filed a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board. If you're considering hiring Dr. Sprinkler, I strongly recommend getting every detail of the grading, soil preparation, excavation, and drainage work spelled out in writing. Don't assume that paying for a backyard renovation means those things will actually be done properly. Based on my experience, I would absolutely not hire Dr. Sprinkler again, and I cannot recommend them to anyone.

I highly recommend the professionals at Santiago's Landscape Services. My parents' house sits on…read more1/3 acre with many trees, and the yard had been let go quite badly for decades. After getting a few quotes for some initial tree work, I hired Santiago and his team to remove a dangerous limb over the garage and balance the oak tree that threatened the roof. They got the work done promptly and for a fair price, and, most importantly, they did it right. We were so impressed, that I called them back for a quote on a bigger project. There were several trees that needed shaping to reduce sail and let more light in, some that needed to come out entirely, stumps to be ground out, massive yard cleanup, and a pathway toward formal landscaping. Speaking with Santiago, I told him our budget, and he was able to craft a plan that prioritized the critical work while preparing the way to restore the yard with water-efficient landscaping. Clearing away at least 20 years of wild growth took several days, and a large team, but they got it done on time and absolutely perfect. One of the team was an amazing arborist who knows how to make a neglected tree healthy, balanced, and beautiful again. Every team member knew the plants they were working with. The 80 year old elm now looks fantastic, the 65 year old magnolia is putting out flowers again, the ancient oaks now have the proper canopy, and the fruit trees are putting out new shoots. The water-hungry weeds have been removed, and the yard graded and prepared. The next step will be to install drip irrigation and a blend of wildflowers and succulents to define the paths and entertainment portions of the yard, and after seeing the other projects Santiago has handled, we will stick with him. Couldn't be happier with the progress! Give him a call. You'll be glad you did!

I contacted Santiago's as part of my search. I was impressed with the plan and recommendation they set forward. They worked fast and were very clean given the big project I had. The demo looked like it was hell and they made it look easy. I now enjoy a nice clean yard with automated sprinklers I control via my phone. I love the look my San Agustin grass they installed. They ran all the sprinklers system as well and cleaned up the yard. I would definitely recommend Santiago's they had the best pricing and were promptly available.
