A very cordial staff member came outside and invited us into the lobby to await our tour time. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. However, there were parts of the tour where background noise made it difficult to hear her. I would recommend anyone with any hearing impairment stay close to the guide to ensure you can hear the narration. Overall, we really enjoyed the tour and would love to revisit for one of the "ghost tours" on offer.

Her very first words were, "Why are you here?" -- no greeting, no courtesy, just instant hostility. We were only there to take a quick photo of the outside and look at the grounds, as we were considering renting the venue for a wedding. We're from out of town and were in the area just for the weekend, but she immediately accused us of trespassing instead of simply asking what we needed. To make things worse, she blocked the driveway so we couldn't turn around properly, forcing us to back through the grass rather than letting us move forward a couple of feet to the wider part of the drive. I'm also quite sure her behavior was influenced by my alternative haircut and color, which made the experience feel even more judgmental and discriminatory. We will never come back here or recommend this place to anyone.

Staff also not attentive during wedding. She was told the PA system was provided and then on the wedding day, no AV cords provided. Told her in one sentence that she didn't have enough details, then in another sentence told her she was basically the most difficult wedding she had worked on. Lastly, she has things in writing that she went back on. I wouldn't want to work with this lady, but beautiful wedding!

The moment I stepped into the stylish, contemporary lobby, I felt like I'd walked into a boutique hotel in SoHo. The design is chic, modern, and full of personality. I arrived early and was pleasantly surprised to get access to my room right away -- a spacious, beautifully appointed room on the fourth floor of the hotel's main building. (Tip: there's a second building across the alley in back, so if location matters to you, be sure to ask which one you're in.) My room was terrific -- upscale furnishings, high ceilings, and a bed so comfortable I wanted to bring it home with me. Great mattress, perfect pillows -- everything you hope for in a good night's sleep. As luck would have it, the hotel was celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a lobby reception just as I was heading out to a meeting. The place had a celebratory buzz. When I returned, I made a beeline to Vantage, the rooftop bar, for an Old Fashioned. They were out of Angel's Envy (my go-to), but the bartender made a solid one with Woodford Reserve. A quick evening shower made the rooftop a bit humid, so I headed downstairs to The Order, the hotel's lobby bar -- equally impressive, with a standout liquor selection and, yes, Angel's Envy in stock. Round two. The next morning, I hit their fitness room in the back building, followed by a run through downtown. Afterward, I grabbed a surprisingly good $10 breakfast burrito from the on-site café. My only real quibble: no complimentary coffee in the lobby. For a boutique hotel of this caliber, it's a small thing that would make a big difference. Overall, Hotel Vandivort delivered style, comfort, and a memorable experience. If you're heading to Springfield and want something with personality and polish -- stay here. Highly recommended.

One bonus to Moxy Hotels are they have what's called " Stash closets" which is a closet located on every floor for guests to freely go into & take an extra pillow, blanket, sheets or towels which saves headache & hassles of calling downstairs & hoping they remember to bring those items at other Hotels. Also the Moxy is located just a few block walk to restaurants, Coffee shops, nightlife & other Historical attractions. We enjoyed our stay at the Moxy & we will return next time we find ourselves in Springfield Mo.

The only downsides were the 2nd elevator being down and the operating one was painfully slow with no stair access to our 2nd floor room. We would definitely recommend this Marriott to our friends and would stay here again.

She was present during the reception and worked along side her wonderful staff, who by the way, are some of the most respectful, professional and kind people, who are willing to do whatever you need them to, to make this day/event the best ever. Wow! The venue IS beautiful, however the experience was a stressful nightmare! A little more than 3…read moremonths from our wedding date, we needed a venue. OTEC didn't have an event scheduled for that weekend so we AGREED on a reduced rate. I met with the owner of the business 19 days before the wedding to discuss arrangements. She never took a single note throughout the whole meeting. I learned more about her personal life than she did about my requests! She assured me SHE would work my event herself to make sure my family wouldn't have to stress about serving food, keeping drinks full, etc. I'm a note taker, so I asked if she would like me to email her a copy of my notes, and she agreed. That was the last I heard from her until 4 days prior to our wedding. She refused to return phone calls, text messages, emails, FB messages, etc. 4 days prior, I was beginning to wonder if we were going to have a venue at all!! When she finally returned a call, she confessed she'd not opened my email from 2 weeks prior that I'd sent her regarding our meeting. I was so frustrated I was in tears! The day before the wedding, we were decorating in a room that was 74-78', and when we asked about turning down the air temp. we were repeatedly told how expensive it was. I couldn't use the bride's room to get ready the day of, because to was too hot! The day of the wedding came and she chose to have ONE employee "work" our event vs her. Not a single person served food, and our drink containers ran dry. My family spent more time catering to our guests than enjoying the event. To top it off, we were told we could have the venue until 11 pm and could clean up the next day. However at 9:30 we were told we needed to vacate the facility (cleaned out) by MIDNIGHT, our wedding STARTED at 7pm. I had family travel 4+ hrs to share this event!! There is obviously a serious problem with communication when you book with this venue. If you are "lucky enough" to get a discounted rate, you will be treated like a discounted client!!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone!!
