I an FURIOUS with these people! I have 2 cats and one of them was leaving a puddle of bloody Urine in front of the cat litter box. I wasn't sure which one it was but suspected my older cat. So I took him in first to get checked. They said he had some crystals in his Urine and put him on antibiotics. A couple of days later I found a little blood on my comforter where my other cat sleeps and decided I better get him in to double check it wasn't him leaving the bloody urine. They took him in for the day and said he was fine so I picked him up that afternoon feeling better about everything. I kept finding puddles of bloody urine though and it was getting worse so I took the older one in again and they did a more though test and sent it into another lab for testing and it came back normal but said he had a lot of plack and needed a tooth pulled and maybe that was causing stress to cause urine in the blood. So $800 dollars later there was still bloody urine and instead of happening once a week it was everyday now. I called and they said the doctor would call me back and discuss the issue. Never heard back from him so finally called back the next day and spoke to one of the staff. She said it was probably stress issues sounds like a lot of BULL to me!!!! so I set up a surveillance camera and finally found out it WAS MY OTHER CAT the one that left a bit of Blood on my comforter. So all this time he's been suffering and now I'm scared to death it's progressed to a dangerous point. DON"T TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS PLACE! The Doctors are Unprofessional and I do NOT TRUST THEM I've been to several Vet's over the years and ALWAYS went back with my pets and met the Doctor untill I came to this place. Never even met the VET. $800 frickken Dollars I spent and NEVER MET THE DOCTOR!!! (the staff for the most part is nice and should seek work elsewhere) read more

I understand businesses need to pay for the rent, employees, ect. But I got the intense feeling that Heath (the vet) has a passion to rip off elderly customers. The elderly can be taken for a ride because we love our pets. I am elderly and severely disabled. My lab had a severe ear infection. I was charged almost $200 dollars for a quick squirt of a single dose of ear drops. Heath didn't even do it. He had his assistant do it. They didn't draw blood or take a stool sample, or an X-Ray or ANYTHING that could be a cause of a $200 dollar charge. Much more than the E.R. charges for flipping humans. His less than a 2 minute lecture indicated he LOVES elderly people because they are SO STUPID and pay anything he asks. I'm sure he would like the elderly to line up behind each other so he could rip them off. I mean OVER 1 thousand bucks for each 30 minutes. $2000/hr? More than any attorney makes. I'm almost sure he goes home and tells his wife "Man....This old guy comes in and freaking pays me 200 bucks for ear drops" Is this a freaking great country or what? Old people are just fucking stupid." Yeah............just like that. I'm sure he's laughing out loud. Why are people like this these days? They freaking laugh about ripping people off. I get $1000/mo in disability. WTF? Ear drops for $200. Go figure. read more

I've been bringing my critters here for several years and absolutely LOVE this place. When one of my dogs developed osteosarcoma and I was trying to decide between amputation and palliative care, Dr. Cynthia gave me a boatload of professional advice, printed information, various websites and other information so that I could make an informed decision as to how to proceed. We opted for palliative care and Dr. Cynthia was extremely kind and patient helping my beloved dog to the Bridge when the time came. Earlier this month, one of our dogs who is on meds for seizures had a break through seizure and we brought her in immediately. She was coughing up blood which was a major concern for us. She had come out of the seizure prior to arriving at the office and Dr. Heath sat on the floor while he examined her. He wanted to look in her mouth to see if perhaps she had bitten her tongue. When he had finished his oral exam, he gently held her chin in his hand, looked her in the eye and thanked her for letting him look inside. This may seem like nothing to you....but to me....it spoke volumes. The staff excels in being nice. Always. Every single one of them. Everyone there has gone above and beyond to help my pets and I consider myself to be a fairly difficult client to please. read more

I have 2 pups. One is a 4yr old female half black lab half aussie Shepherd, and the other is a 6 month old male who has no idea he's a big... Wait, HUGE puppy!! I thought he was a British or yellow lab, but since he's a boy, thought that was why he was so big. In chatting with Dr Heath, he did see lab, but left for a few min and came back. He took the time to double check on some characteristics first to confirm his suspicions. Sure enough, he saw a lot of Great Pyrenees in my little Prince... Big Prince! Lol that explains why he is so big and says so much about some other questions and concerns i had. The biggest reasons I'm so thankful to know this, not only so i can budget for massive amounts of food, but also so i can understand his temperament. It also explains why he still suffers from separation anxiety after being abandoned at about 4-6 weeks old... Dr. Heath and his staff were absolutely amazing! They were so patient, kind, caring, gentle, smooth with the shots, and helpful with my babies!!! I definitely recommend SVC to anyone looking for a vet read more

I was rather amazed to see the bad reviews here. I have nothing but good things to say about SVC. I took my kitty in for an issue she has been having with chronic vomiting. I'm talking nearly every day. I had seen other vets in the area and had been given a diagnosis of hairballs, though no hair was ever present in the vomit. No other vet attempted to run any tests or explored any other causes. Dr. Wiseman ran blood tests to eliminate more serious conditions, then suggested trying a prescription food. They gave me some coupons for the food as well. Kitty showed improvement immediately and has had no issues since. Recently, kitty started coughing/sneezing and I called in a bit of a panic. The receptionist and I discussed her symptoms and determined it was nothing serious. I set up an appointment anyway, as she needed her vaccinations. This appointment went very well too. I have never had ANY of the issues described in other reviews. SVC seems a little cheaper than most, from my perspective. My appointments have always been on time. I have never felt treated badly or rudely. read more

I am quite frankly shocked at the multiple. poor reviews which this veterinary clinic has received. I am a current customer, and I actively work in canine rescue. I recently started bringing my rescues to this clinic because my fosters often have anxiety issues, and my own veterinarian is located rather far from me (they're great with my current pets, but rather far to travel for my fosters). Sometimes, traveling by car can be quite stressful for my foster dogs, and this vet is only 1/2 mile away from my home. To date, I have had 4 of my foster dogs evaluated and treated at SVC, and I am very happy with their service. In addition to being very professional and caring towards my dogs, they are also very happy to assist the rescue community. I receive 25% off all services for my rescue dogs, and this makes caring for new dogs (and rescuing more) just that much easier. I would highly and confidently recommend this practice to friends and family (and rescues!!). read more

I have been taking my dog to SVC since 2012 and when I adopted my cat in 2015. I have never had a bad experience. We have seen Mr. and Mrs. Wiseman and I love them both. Always professional, always take their time when looking my pets over, asking questions, and answering mine. Once when my dog became deathly ill on a Sunday I had to take him to the emergency vet clinic. Monday morning I called SVC to fill them in and get their opinion. Over the course of his recovery, SVC was great at staying in touch with me, answering all of my questions, reassuring me, helping me, and making sure he would be okay. I am so thankful for them. They even hosted a free "Kitty Kindergarten" not too long after I adopted my cat to help the kittens socialize and be comfortable in their office. Their facility is very nice and always clean. The rest of the SVC staff has always been friendly, polite, professional, and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Springfield Veterinary Center is my first choice of the many vet facilities available in our city. Doctors Heath and Cynthia Wiseman have taken care of my dogs since 2007. When one of my dachshunds suddenly lost use of his rear legs, Dr. Heath Wiseman knew immediately what should be done, and arranged for me to take my pup to the vet school at UM-Columbia for spinal surgery. He is very kind and thoughtful to my pets, and to me as the pet owner. Dr. Cynthia Wiseman is very knowledgeable in the treatment of greyhounds, who need a specialized protocol for anesthesia and medication. Her love for our animals is very evident, and they love to see her. The staff is very friendly, pleasant and well educated about their jobs. I've never had to wait a long time for an appointment. The prices are very reasonable, and the location is convenient. They will soon open a new facility next to the Sprint store at Battlefield and Jefferson. read more

I would and have recommended this vet many times to friends. I am in and out of the vets office with my two cats, Gizmo and Gadget what seems like every other week. I am a super cautious kitty momma and I would never hand my babies over to someone I couldn't trust. And I can trust Springfield Veterinary Center with my whole heart. I have been going there for a little over 4 years now and I have never had a complaint. The staff is very friendly and they always take care of my kitties as if they were their own. When I had fleas in my apartment they let the cats stay in the back the whole day while I got my apartment sprayed (4 times!-pesky fleas). They have done a great job on yearly visits, vaccinations, surgery (my cat fractured his growth plate), and many colds and eye infections. If you bring your pets to Springfield Veterinary Center you can feel safe knowing that they will treat your babies like family too! read more

My 8 year old golden retriever had severe eye issues and I came up short with 2 other vets in Springfield...just to be recommended to a specialist in K.C. After speaking with the specialist....she referred me to Dr. Heath Wiseman because of his expertise record with laser type / grid eye surgeries. Dr. Wiseman performed this surgery on my dog with no complications whatsoever..in fact ..my dog had a perfect recovery and healing process and after a few days...he was like a his normal self and was back playing like a crazy retriever should !! Dr. Wiseman sent us to a visiting eye surgeon at another vet clinic in town for follow up to reassure me.. and the surgeon was amazed at the recovery and the surgery that was performed. SVC has been awesome to me in so many ways. When my 13 year old dog was having health issues Heath kept her in the vet office for a few days without charge to see how she was doing and to see if the treatment plan would work best for her. When other vets told me my male boxer needed hip surgery, I took him to Heath and he offered other solutions to help his hip and that surgery will not cure his joint issue. They always offer many options and give you time to think out your options. I also help with a local rescue and they have seen and treated over 150 if not more of our dogs. And with each dog they are given the highest care. They have treated our rescues for so many issues such as parvo, mange, broken hips, broken legs, hearing issues, teeth issues. I trust SVC with my personal dogs and my rescue dogs! read more

Again, this clinic has amazed me. Our rescue received a boxer hit by a car from the Joplin Humane Society. Without us taking her, she would have been euthanized. Dr. H. Wiseman reviewed her x-rays, consulted with several other vets and the decision was made that her leg needed to be amputated. They kept her overnight for observation and today she turned anemic. Drs. Wiseman stayed after hours and did a blood transfusion for this boxer to help save her life. She is resting comfortably and already looks better. They could have went home and waited to care for her in the morning but her care, comfort and health came first. Not many vets would do this. Again, I am thankful I trust my personal dogs and that our rescue trusts their dogs to Springfield Veterinary Center. read more

I am not a regular client at Carlson, I was referred when my cat was showing signs of distress and my Doc was out of town. They took me in with forty minutes notice. Immediately diagnosed his swollen bladder and blockage of urethra. Admitted him, and every person I came in contact with was helpful and kind. They cared about my little guy. He is released now, doing great. I was offered several emergency options and they also told me not to hesitate to call. When I did after I was unsure about a symptom, I was treated with respect and given reassurance that it was common. I am very pleased and grateful. I am sorry to anyone who previously had a problem. Boxer/Schnauzer Rescue of the Ozarks trusts all our rescued dogs to SVC. We have used SVC for many years and have brought in some boxers and schnauzers in terrible condition. The staff always treats each rescue with kindness and love and gives them the highest care possible even though they are a rescue dog. Drs Wiseman always plan the best course of treatment to give the rescue the best possible care while keeping in mind BSRO is on a limited budget. Many of our foster homes use SVC for their personal dogs after witnessing the quality of care provided. Not only does the staff give great care, they support our rescue on their time off by helping at events. They are a fantastic vet office. I've been with my dog Maddie 3 times in the last couple months. They got me in in a timely fashion Early in 2/3 visits. They will get down on your puppy's level and love all over them. They treat your pet like it is one of their own. They also gave me a great discount on my first visit because I had to buy 3 different medicines from them. I paid a total of 172.00 for the visit, all her vaccinations, they did a heart worm test and checked her ears for an infection and all the medicines for the ear infection and her upper respiratory infection. The next time I went back for an exam I paid 33 dollars. read more

I have been taking my dog Sophie to SVC since she we adopted her at 8 weeks of age in 2007. She has required much attention and care from them for the last year due to a medical condition she has. They have taken tremendous care of her and have always answered every question I have approached them with. Great staff and great care! We just adopted a rescue and received great care and Dr Wiseman took time to address all our concerns. This is our third pet to receive care from their clinic and have always been very pleased with the service. Our previous dog was attacked by another dog and our vet at the time told us to put her down because she was showing aggression. Dr Wiseman took the time to figure out she had nerve damage and constant pain in her neck from the attack. After their care plan, we had our family pet back to her old personality. I love this Vet. Not only do they treat my 3 cats but they also help out with a local dog rescue too. They are the ones you can count on. When the F5 tornado torn Joplin apart they went down and volunteered the very first day to help with sick and injured animals. They have helped so many animals and people alike. The office is always clean and the staff is very courteous and have always addressed all my needs as well as the needs of my animals. When my Kitty broke his hip, SVC was there for me and gave me options to fit my budget. I recommend them to everyone who asks me for a good vet! read more
