I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for Dr. Jane Flathers and Angel Animal Hospital. I have…read moreused other veterinarians in Springfield but Dr. Flathers stands out as the best. I had two dogs before this dog whom I took to other veterinarians. The contrast between previous veterinarians and Dr. Flathers was pronounced. The last veterinarian did not appear to be as thorough in her examinations, her equipment malfunctioned on our last two visits and she seemed to be unable to confidently diagnose my dog's health issue. Every time I have seen Dr. Flathers I have been very impressed with her knowledge and diagnosis of my pet's problems. I would highly recommend Dr. Flathers and Angel Animal Hospital. I appreciate Dr. Flathers' superior knowledge, abilities and genuine concern for the pets she treats and their owners.

I don't know what happened to Dr. Flathers. I assume it's all about the $$$$ (Maybe to pay for the…read morenew bldg?). She does a good job with my cats but the fees are ludicrous. $90 to schedule an appointment. If you cancel within 24 hrs that fee is non-refundable. My own doctor doesn't charge that much. They charged me $15.22 to use my credit card. Said that it takes extra steps to use that card. This is after I asked, the day we were there, if that was a fee from the business or my CC company. The receptionist told me she didn't know but thought it was the CC company. Well I called my CC Co., and, NOT!!! My bill was $392 for about 45 min and a little inflammation in my cat. Well they just lost my business and my 2 cats as patients. Also I was told someone would be calling to check on, how my cat was doing. Two days later and nobody has called. This morning when I was inquiring about the fees, nobody even asked how he was doing.

Dr Robinson was pretty sure it was cancer but when the needle aspirant went onto glass slide it looked like pus. Under microscope saw only a few bacteria, otherwise just dead WBCs. Home with antibiotic and anti inflammatory. She's had no fever. Thursday lump is much bigger. Chest X-rays ruled out pneumonia or some such. Home with another antibiotic. Friday she had a loud swallow, I knew that ment breathing would be next. Decided with Dr. Robinson to go ahead with surgical investigation and lance it somewhere. Dr Robinson put BB under but had to use a much smaller tube for intubation than with dental last year. When she saw the tonsil, it was much bigger on the inside, it was obvious cancer. Weighing quality of life--being newly deaf, blind in one eye, foggy in the other, aching with joint pains, or left to die trying to breathe?!!--Oh, no. We went in to say goodbye, then my BB went on to sleep on some really good drugs. Dr. Robinson was near tears, very tender and caring, still made it no easier. It all happened so fast. It was so hard. My little Black Beauty Tomato is much happier now, she can see with both eyes, hear as good as ever, and is running easy-fast keeping up with her siblings she just met!!! ‍ All the staff at Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital were so kind dealing with us all week. Drs Robinson, Beatty, and McFarland were so gentle and supportive with 'BB'. So respectful and kind. I can't say enough. Thank you, thank you.

I went to healing paws per a recommendation from a friend. The phlebitis occurred during a dental cleaning (that Dr Betty pushed hard for income). Initially went in for a broken tooth which she decided not to pull. I received care from a better vet in a different zip code and I'm so glad I did. My dog has a serious infection caused by incompetence from a vet clinic who will gladly fire you as a client once they're under fire with the law. Be cautious.

Unfortunately he developed some complications (which can happen because his original surgery was not straightforward). The staff at Galloway called to check in on him post-op. He needed a readmission, but would go for daily boarding and treatment. Every day I would receive updates during the day from one of the techs or doctors. His doctor was available via email at all times. Although he did see different vets, all of them made contact with me at some point to discuss his care and all knew his history. It most certainly is NOT a revolving door of vets. All of the staff and doctors treated me with respect and empathy during this stressful time. My puppy ended up needing a second surgery, but this was only after conservative therapy was unsuccessful. It was a necessary surgery and he did great after. Galloway is fantastic. I would highly recommend for any canine care (as this is my only experience) although I witnessed the respect they have for many animals that came through the waiting room. I am grateful for their personal care for my puppy dog. I cannot stress enough how positive our experiences have been every time, whether it was this last time or regular check-ups. The care is outstanding.

Great vet - for my cat. He specializes in cats, and it shows. My last vet just couldn't answer…read morethose "small" questions... and, I was very happy to see how the prices aren't higher, in fact they are a bit lower. A true cat lover, he understands what's good and bad for cats - like too many vaccines, kidney aliments (and how a cat fountain will work wonders) - and doesn't push unneeded services, with many solutions that don't enrich him in any way. His style strikes me as very honest, and caring for the animal, and he has the special knowledge that only a person who primarily works on cats knows. Even my cat doesn't dislike him very much, and she isn't known for being social, that's about as much of a 5 star review as she gives. Anybody with a cat should go here, it is worth the drive - you'll save money with his tips that pay for the gas, and your feline will be better cared for!

He is also very good for well care, but just want to reiterate that he is where you should take your cat in case of emergency vet care. My first experience with him was with a very sick cat. I called just minutes before closing but he waited the 25 minutes it took me to drive there to see me cat, even though at the time I had never taken a cat to his office. As I was leaving, well after his closing time, another pet owner was coming in with their sick kitty bundled in a blanket. He truly cares. I highly recommend this vet.
