It all happened so fast. Fine on Monday, Tuesday felt large irregular hard lump, made vet appointment for tomorrow. Wednesday lump was mushy and large. Dr Robinson was pretty sure it was cancer but when the needle aspirant went onto glass slide it looked like pus. Under microscope saw only a few bacteria, otherwise just dead WBCs. Home with antibiotic and anti inflammatory. She's had no fever. Thursday lump is much bigger. Chest X-rays ruled out pneumonia or some such. Home with another antibiotic. Friday she had a loud swallow, I knew that ment breathing would be next. Decided with Dr. Robinson to go ahead with surgical investigation and lance it somewhere. Dr Robinson put BB under but had to use a much smaller tube for intubation than with dental last year. When she saw the tonsil, it was much bigger on the inside, it was obvious cancer. Weighing quality of life--being newly deaf, blind in one eye, foggy in the other, aching with joint pains, or left to die trying to breathe?!!--Oh, no. We went in to say goodbye, then my BB went on to sleep on some really good drugs. Dr. Robinson was near tears, very tender and caring, still made it no easier. It all happened so fast. It was so hard. My little Black Beauty Tomato is much happier now, she can see with both eyes, hear as good as ever, and is running easy-fast keeping up with her siblings she just met!!! ‍ All the staff at Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital were so kind dealing with us all week. Drs Robinson, Beatty, and McFarland were so gentle and supportive with 'BB'. So respectful and kind. I can't say enough. Thank you, thank you. read more

Stay far away from this clinic. Sterilization is not done properly during dental procedures. My dog was diagnosed with phlebitis from the IV test at a new clinic. I went to healing paws per a recommendation from a friend. The phlebitis occurred during a dental cleaning (that Dr Betty pushed hard for income). Initially went in for a broken tooth which she decided not to pull. I received care from a better vet in a different zip code and I'm so glad I did. My dog has a serious infection caused by incompetence from a vet clinic who will gladly fire you as a client once they're under fire with the law. Be cautious. read more

After my pup, Daisy, had been sick for a few days I decided it was time to make her an appt. I called Healing Paws and they gave me an appointment within the same afternoon which was very relieving. They were super friendly and detailed at the front desk, even offered a beverage while we waited. Carmen took us back and was so kind & very gentle with Daisy. I didnt have to wait too long during her exam, and they checked in with me & explained everything so I could understand it. They also double checked to make sure I approved every charge & gave me options to fit my budget. Very satisfied overall! read more

I seriously love this place. I have a 4th month old bishon & i took a whole week trying to find the right place & I finally did. My pup had her vaccines done & the ladies were so nice & friendly since the beginning. They even gave my pup treats to calm her down. They answered all my questions & suggested even more than I expected Highly recommend this place read more

So, I've got a 9 year old cat (Mouse) that's my heart and soul. I've had him since he was 3-1/2 weeks old, and we've been best buds ever since the first time I bottle fed him. He's moved with me from Denver to Albuquerque to San Antonio to Austin and finally back home to little Springfield. I loved my San Antonio vet so much I continued going there even after we moved to Austin (a 90 minute drive) - and leaving Texas was hard bc I knew we'd have to find a new veterinary home. I've been to Healing Paws twice over the past 18 months, and both times Mouse had the gold senior screen. The first visit was to treat a mild respiratory infection after moving from Texas, the second visit was last week when Mouse got his teeth cleaned. I've been pleased with the service both times and hope over the years to come I grow to love this place as much as the San Antonio vet. So far so good. It was especially nice to get the before and after photos of the cleaning, dental x-rays, and a detailed conversation with Dr. Robinson comparing Mouse's current bloodwork to his results from last year. Thanks for taking care of my little buddy read more

I was visiting from out of town, and my dog started getting sick on a Friday afternoon. Thankfully, Healing Paws was able to fit me in. The whole staff is incredibly kind, and Dr. Robinson is the most phenomenal vet I have ever been to. She takes the time to explain her plan of care in great detail, all the while making sure that you feel comfortable with that decision. I am extremely grateful to have had her as my dog's Veterinarian. read more

Wonderful vet clinic! Everyone is caring, soothing, and professional. They add little touches like your name on a whiteboard in the room when you enter and offer you a drink. Very clean clinic! read more

Best Vet Clinic & Boarding Available in Springfield MO! When we moved to Springfield a few years ago, we considered a few different vets in town based on recommendations by neighbors, colleagues and friends involved with dog groups. Most vets were reasonably good, however, after one visit at Healing Paws, it was clear that this is the leading vet in town. Dr. Ross, her staff and facility are top-notch! We have brought both our dogs and cats to Dr. Ross and we have all been extremely impressed with her sharp assessments, exemplary treatment plans and professionalism. Her staff mirrors these positive attributes and that is another reason why we always have a positive experience during each visit. Additionally, we take advantage of their luxury kennels and cat condos when we must leave town. Just after we moved here, I toured and evaluated 20+ pet boarding options in town and not one of them came close to Healing Paws' amenities. Cleanliness, care and playtime are clearly a priority at Healing Paws and not many other places come close. At such a competitive price to other facilities in town, this is the best option for our pets. They can stay in clean, secure, bar-free spaces with plenty of room to roam and play in between their frequent walks with the staff. Our cat also enjoys extra play in their lovely cat boarding room with toys, windows and perching spaces. There are no tearful partings when we bring our pets to Healing Paws because they enjoy the time they spend in their care and with such kind staff members. If you have to leave town, there is no smarter choice than to leave them with someone who can care for their medical needs if anything should arise. That peace of mind is just one of the many reasons we recommend Healing Paws for pet boarding. Dr. Ross' Healing Paws is an excellent example of a compassionate, modern, efficient and affordable veterinary clinic in Springfield, MO. read more

Recently, one of my family's dogs died after not recovering well from an operation to treat an abscess on a tooth. We didn't expect that she would be gone, as she was young, and a smart and energetic dog that we loved. We are glad that Healing Paws is around, and we should have been more proactive about the health of our animal. Five stars because we have no basis for a bad review. Only sadness for a lost friend. read more

I have been going to Dr. Kerry Wantuck for several years with all of my furry kids! She not only is a wonderful doctor but her "bedside" manor is like no other vet I have ever been to. She knows all of my animals by name and really cares about each one of them. She sees my Greyhounds, Shih Tzu's, short haired cats and now my Sphynx cat. Several of my animals have had special needs and she is always diligent at finding out what is wrong and staying in touch with me for updates on their conditions. I can't say enough good things about her! I highly recommend seeing Dr. Wantuck! read more

The vets here to a really great job. I respect their opinion they are very thorough when they've taken good care of my Doxie. They are one of the best in Springfield and I have gone to several other veterinarians because I just moved from out-of-state. read more

I brought a stray puppy I adopted in for a check up. They told me she has not been spayed so I scheduled the surgery. After they got in and started the surgery they realized that she had already been spayed. They offered me $30 off the $200 operation? So I paid $200 to have my puppy refixed ?? The Dr or anyone at the office did not even offer an apology. Go to a different Vet ! read more
