This is one of my favorite restaurant in the Boardman, OH area. Great selection of wines, and the food is spectacular. I recently had a meeting here and 7 of us received wonderful service, including when we ordered multiple bottles of wine, appetizers, etc. I strongly recommend this to anyone who wants a surefire home run. As we were getting in the car to go find one, I looked up and saw SG just across the street. Had the Georgia peach salad. The peaches were perfectly ripe and sweet and the dressing was a perfect compliment. My wife had the "Land and Sea". One of the best sirloin steaks I've ever tasted with perfectly cooked shrimp and the service from Randy was beyond attentive. He gave me a back up soda water before I knew I was low. A great experience. We were driving from Chicago to NY and rushed to get there prior to their 10:30 closing. It was probably about 10:15 when we walked in and only a few drinkers were at the bar, we asked if they we could still get dinner and the bartender went to check. Visited this restaurant many times of the years and I have to say it has become one of my favorite places to dine. This upscale restaurant has a wide variety of menu items which are prepared fresh for each order. The interior design is truly classy and allows the guest to have a truly unique experience. The wait staff is always very attentive and polite during our visits but is not afraid to engage in conversation with the guest. One truly memorable moment I can remember is when I ordered takeout from here and the chicken was burnt. I called and spoke with the manager who personally drove to my place of work and delivered newly cooked chicken along with courtesy cards. My husband and I ate in the bar area with two other couple in these ENORMOUS comfortable booths. Full menu in the bar, with an extensive wine list as well as very creative daily specials. Arrived with a party of five at 6:00 pm on a weekday and we're told a 20 minute wait. At 7:00 one of our party complained and we were seated. No apologies for the wait. Had dinner here tonight. Very disappointed. This has always been one of my favorite places. Ordered the coconut breaded chicken asked for side of pasta. Server did not know the sauce choices nor did he offer to go find out . My boyfriend ordered steak. Food came out chicken was dried out and the sauce on the rigatoni had no flavor. The server never came back to the table to see how everything was. The next time we seen him is when we asked for another drink that took about 15 minutes to receive. Greatly disappointed read more

Love location of this place .. Not in the busy area of 224 .. I have eaten here for lunch and dinner and always enjoyed my meals. I usually order Seafood for dinner and it's always been fresh and delicious ! Lunch is usually one of their great salads or a chicken sandwich with roasted red peppers . They have GF items which is really nice for a friend of mine. The service has always been friendly ! You can sit in a nice quiet setting by the fireplace in the dining area or watch you're favorite show on the many TVs in the bar area.. Great place for everyone ! read more

Made a reservation a month in advance for Easter for 5 PM. The service was lackluster and inattentive. Drinks and appetizers arrived 30-45 minutes after seating. It being Easter there were of course dinner specials, except a few were unavailable. I find it ridiculous that a restaurant with the reputation of the Springfield to be out of their specials on a holiday like Easter, especially when it is earlier in the evening at 5 PM for prime dinner time. The food was amazing, portions were large and to be honest they could make them smaller and still be serving plenty of food. The only negative thing was the service. There was no smiling, they tossed my daughter's steak knife to her and made a loud crash on the table. Getting a refill was nearly impossible. I will reiterate that the food was amazing! read more

My family ate at this restaurant recently. Very pretty exterior, upscale ambience. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes . I have never ever had a worse presentation in my life. The plate had a very small piece of meat with a sprig of rosemary . That's it ! My mother ordered the cranberry-apple pork chops with sweet potato bread pudding. She received a plain pork chop . I brought it to our waiters attention that she ordered the cranberry - apple pork chops. He took her plate & returned it with a small amount of chutney . He said the kitchen left it off the first time. I questioned him on when would she get the sweet potato bread pudding. He said well I brought her a baked potato. Why ?? I asked. He FINALLY admitted he entered the wrong order. No apology, no offer of a free dessert, or taking it off of our bill. This restaurant is all show !!!!!! read more

We hosted my sister-in-laws baby shower here this past weekend and it was BEAUTIFUL!! The room hosted our guests perfectly (26 adults and 3 kids) and it is such a beautiful room - you can do as little or as much décor as you would like. They were easy to work with in the planning process, their food selection was delicious and their staff (Jill and Bret) were so friendly. We were so thankful to work with such a great group and that truly helped our shower be that much more enjoyable. Service was great, waitress was a doll, but food not so much. First we had a Caesar Salad which we enjoyed. Why is it though that when you have two people, three rolls are always served? My friend ordered Chicken Francaise, she received Chicken Marsala so back it went. When the waitress returned with Chicken Francaise it was white, not golden brown and the sauce looked gray. My friend took a bite, but too mushy to eat. I had shrimp scampi, good but just lukewarm. They were not busy at the time, so I am thinking no excuse. This was our first visit to Springfield Grille. It will be our last. We had a reservation for 7 people, meeting an out of state business customer. They put us in a small booth with a chair in the aisle. When we asked for more room they told us we would have a 45 minute wait so we squeezed in so we could get our dinner ordered. The waitress was nice but after bringing our drinks and trying to push appetizers she didn't come back for our orders for a long time. When the food came we were all disappointed. My prime rib was over cooked and had no flavor. I didn't even get au jus or horseradish. My husband had a filet, he said it was dry, also without flavor. The crab cakes were tiny and the fish portion was small. As expensive as the place is, we were extremely disappointed in the service and the quality of the food. Having a reservation for a group, we would have expected an appropriate table with more comfortable seating. We will not come back. read more

My wife & I along with another professional couple dined at the Springfield Grille last night. The decor is excellent; polished, high class. The service; truly top notch and both of our servers (Courtney & Kim) were attentive without being obtrusive. The food? hmmmm.... not great. I ordered a hand cut ribeye but was served a sirloin. When it was returned to the kitchen, the manager (a lovely gracious lady) explained that although it does not look like a ribeye, taste like a ribeye, or have anything in common with a ribeye as we know it, it was a ... ribeye! She did offer mushrooms & onions to cover the obvious sirloin but I declined and in the spirit of not ruining our evening accepted the steak. It was a sirloin, tenderized chemically, but did have good flavor. My fries were cold and the baked potatoes were served with inadequate butter & sour cream. My friend's lamb chop was a gaggle of 5-6 very small, thin, lamb chops that appeared from a newborn lamb. They were tiny; the smallest we've ever seen. My wife's chicken was merely average and the filet medallions were also average at best with little flavor. Desserts (crem brulet and key lime pie) was also average. Drinks were prepared properly and were very fairly priced at $7.50 each for Tito's martinis & Gentleman Jack, and a nice bottle of $33 pinot. I like this restaurant; have eaten there many times in the past; but Michael Alberini's located across the street is better. read more

Called to ask the wait. Was told no wait. Actually called twice, 10 minutes apart, just to make sure. Both times told no wait. So we proceeded to the restaurant. When we got there, literally 5 minutes later, we were told a 30 minute wait because we had 6 people. I would think 6 people is not that big of a party and I would think asking the party size would be a question you would ask when somebody calls and asks what is the wait? Anyway, by the time we got our food it was so disappointing. It seems like the restaurant is just trying to present that they are upscale but really just give you terrible service and average food. The food was definitely over cooked. Bottom line, we will never go back there again. Some restaurants don't understand that there are a thousand restaurants out there that someone can go to besides their restaurant so when they get upedy, that's when they go under. Bye! We had an excellent meal. The quality of the food was as good as any big city restaurant. We had the crab cakes which were some of the best we've had, including from the Jersey Shore and Chesapeake Bay. We also had the New York Strip, which was tender and juicy. Each meal came with a salad and side, both were delicious and plentiful. The service was first rate. This restaurant is a winner ! read more
