Another impressive brewery in Springfield, MO. The restaurant was very spacious with two floors. Staff was excellent and food/beer were tasty. What I had: - Beer Pretzels ... pretty standard but tasty nonetheless served with very good cheese and mustard dipping sauces. - Cup of Chili .... Pretty simple but still good - Hot Chicken sandwich ... Chicken was very tender and delicious. I thought the sauce was a bit one dimensional but not bad. Could have used a bit more heat. - McDaniels Draught: Really nice Irish Dry Stout. Very good. - Small Batch Mexican Hot Chocolate ... This is the stuff! So tasty. Flavors were perfectly balanced even with the pepper spice. No one flavor was taking control. All played nicely. I will say that I got a small portion because I wasn't sure if I'd like it, and I don't know if I'd enjoy a full 12-16oz in one go. Regardless, I highly recommend trying this one. For those that would prefer something on the softer side, their root beer is top notch! Second attempt at eating here. First time we sat on the upstairs patio for 20 minutes and were never served. This time we sat on the patio again and service was very slow and return visits were sparse. I assume this is because the wait staff has inside and outside tables, and they spend more time inside. Food was fine. Nothing fancy. They had a fun band that night, which was nice while we waited to be seated. We love to come here for brunch but unfortunately we won't be regulars anymore. We loved our bartender Shawn, she doesn't seem to be there at the time we go anymore. The new bartender is not nearly as attentive nor friendly. The food is amazing regardless of service and I highly recommend the breakfast pizza for Sunday brunch. One thing that really stuck out to us was after our service, we got up to leave and she did not acknowledge we were leaving but made a b-line for our receipt to see how much she was tipped. We went in for a quick lunch and a drink after a few hours of shopping and the atmosphere was fun and very clean. Menu had plenty to choose but the drink menu didn't include the beer. It's a Brewery. Finally found one at hostess stand. Beer was cold and we enjoyed the lighter styles. Food was ok but not great. Pulled pork was a little dry and needed more sauce. Pork skin nachos definitely needed more cheese but they were good and a huge plate. I think this would be great for drinks but I would just try some other apps and skip the entrees. read more

Brew Co has always been one of my families favorites! After reading other reviews, I will agree that the service can be a little hit or miss, but it usually seems like they never have enough staff and always a lot of business, so I would imagine it's difficult to keep up. Nevertheless, the beer and food is great. They've done a lot of menu changes over the years, but I really like what they've got right now! We had the pork nachos and the mac & cheese with buffalo chicken tenders. Both were tasty, I would definitely get the mac again. They have a wide assortment of menu items that have always been very tasty, and the beer is also top-notch. There is a large dining area on the first floor, second floor and in the outside deck area to accommodate larger groups. I've attended here numerous times over the years and have found the service, quality, and my enjoyment of this great facility to be very consistent. This was another great find in Missouri. When traveling, I always make a point of visiting any breweries in the area. And at each one, I always order two things: a beer sampler and wings. This place was great on both counts. The beer was slightly above average. The lighter beers weren't much on the palate, but the doppelbock and pale ale were quite delicious. For the wings, I cheated a bit and went with the special for the evening. On the menu, there are two types of wings for your ordering pleasure. But on this particular night, they had a special of jalapeno-lime wings served with chipotle ranch, which I just couldn't resist. Now, this was risky. Jalapeno wings dipped in a chipolte sauce could be overwhelming. But they were absolute perfection. Good size and meatiness. Nice and saucy. Just the right mix of heat and citrus. And the chipolte ranch was spot-on - it added another depth of flavor that was just fantastic. Some of the best wings I have ever had. I also decided to go big and order the mac 'n' cheese. I was feeling adventurous and went with the addition of broccoli. It was good, but I'm not sure I'd order it again. Good cheesiness and flavor, but not enough depth. The breadcrumb topping was boring at best. And the added broccoli was just whole florets added to the top. Overall it was ok, but disappointing. The decor and set-up was great. It was exactly what a brewery should look like, in my opinion. Medium-sized, two-stories, nice and open, beer making process in full view, slight warehouse feel, etc. The service was good. They have their own parking lot (which is nice when located in a downtown area). And they have free wifi (and, of course, I am always a fan of anything that combines good beer with free wifi). read more

My wife and I went to brunch here one morning. I wasn't too impressed with the staff. They were not very friendly and were super annoying to listen to. We sat next to the hostess stand and kitchen and throughout our whole dining they obnoxiously talked super loud. It just rubbed us the wrong way. We did enjoy the food, however it took forever to come out. Since it was morning we didn't care to try the beer, but some day hope to come back. This place has once again taken a turn for the worst. We went back to have some dinner and enjoy the upstairs patio. They now block off the outside stairs so you gotta go in the main door to go upstairs. Outside they have taken away the umbrellas, and there are only two fans near the back, so no breeze is felt outside anymore, and we weren't about to sit the the sun with no umbrella. So we went back in; the upstairs could use an entire makeover. The floors were disgusting, the tables had grease spots where they weren't wiped down properly, and other tables were left dirty the entire time we were there. Even though there were plenty of staff only a few of them were working. Probably the most disgusting part of our visit was the server who kept spraying bug spray filling the air with the smell. All because they choose to put buss pans in a closet upstairs instead of taking them directly to the dishwasher. The server was nice, and most staff usually are, the beer is fantastic, but our food was also disgusting, a greasy burger, and fish that tasted like it had gone bad! I honestly hate giving reviews like this! I'll continue to drink the beer, but I won't be visiting or eating at this establishment until they start putting a little more care into their food, and start sanitizing as well as being more upd. Got finished helping my sister move and after several hours of hard work we were pretty hungry. Springfield Brewing Company was a couple blocks from her new place so we decided to give it a shot. It was a Friday night and they were pretty busy but we found a couple seats at the bar. There was live music and the bartender let me sample a couple of beers and I ended up ordering their flagship beer the Pale Ale. It was good and hit the spot after a long day of moving. I ordered the fish tacos which were really good and the rice and beans that came with them were also good. My sister ordered the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese which I had a couple bites of. It was delicious and if I go back I will be getting that. The bartender made sure we did need anything else and kept our water filled up which was much appreciated after our long day. read more

This place is wonderful! I've been here many times for dinner, but I also had my rehearsal dinner in their large room and it was perfect. The food was delicious, and we had great service. My favorite items are fish & chips here, but the pasta, fish tacos, and fried chicken are also divine. I can't speak for the beer since I'm not a beer drinker, but they offer other selections of alcohol as well! The upstairs is handicap-friendly which was great for my rehearsal. Everything is always clean, and the service is always great. There can be waits at some points, but that's to be expected with a major downtown restaurant. Definitely check this place out! read more

Waited an 1 1/2 hours for my food last nite and I only had water an appetizer. I brought family from S.America and was embarrassed by the service we received. "Brewco" is a staple in Springfield, their beer is always solid and they always have a good variety depending on your tastes. The food has been a variable thing over the years but as of late it has been really consistently good. I'm a mug club member and we visit frequently. We travel through Springfield many times a year and SBC has been on our radar. Our waitress was great and it was fun talking about her with all of us being from the same general area in St. Louis. She greeted us immediately upon sitting down and we ordered their chips & homemade salsa as an appetizer. It came out right away and sure enough the salsa was great. My hubby ordered a flight of their beers and didn't have any complaints about a single one and she kept my drink flowing as well. I always ask the wait staff on suggestions from their menu and she said their chicken fingers are quite popular however I decided to go with their grilled cheese and boy was I glad I did. Sometimes you just need comfort food and their grilled cheese and fries hit the spot. Hubby got their burger and said it was just as good as it looked. The establishment is fun, you can see their brewing process while you wait. They have party areas and live music on certain nights of the week. We will for sure be stopping by again and I'll update on the chicken fingers after our next visit! read more
