After passing by so often, I finally went in to get some hot broth for my sick partner and lunch for myself. Overall the food was tasty, the carrot ginger soup was amazing and I enjoyed mixing it with my rice. My partner had the immunity broth. We also ordered Grandma's chicken and rice, and the tofu chili noodles (subbed with rice). It was a decent meal overall. I felt a bit rushed when ordering, that I forgot to add a side of chicken. Pretty sure I found out about Springbone from an ig reel or ad, and I was happy to see that while their basis is bone broths, they included a shiitake broth for the vegeterians/vegans. It was long in my bookmarks and I finally was in the area and had time so popped in. Built my own bowl which is sort of a risky endeavor. The ingredients are pretty wide ranging, so it's not quite the scenario where you can pick anything and it'll go well. My bowl was a bit random (by my own doing)--Thai rice noodles, butternut squash, tofu, cabbage, golden beets, cashew sauce and my side of shiitake broth. The tofu was too hard and didn't pack much flavor. I'll just say, my bowl felt like a random mix of things (my bad). I should trust a menu item next time but I didn't want kimchi which is what's offered in the veggie bowl. It felt somewhat healthy but didn't all quite go well together. My daughter and I both shared it so the portion of this bowl was that of chipotle but of course better. I also ordered an immunity broth, new root broth and bone broth. I recently tried Springbone kitchen out of necessity and then found myself back a week later for the same exact order. This is a fast-casual restaurant with multiple locations and to be transparent I have no knowledge of the benefits of bone broth. What I do know, however, is that their Mexican bowl is delicious. Bone broth is my go to for when I'm under the weather & Springbone is a reliable option (I usually keep one of their mason jars with broth tucked away in my freezer for emergencies). It's also nice to grab a cup to go on a chilly day. My personal faves are the immunity and liquid gold broths. Both are flavorful & feel soothing. Finally decided to give it a shot after passing by this place many times. The Yelp reviews are mixed but I gravitated towards the idea that you could get a small cup of broth to go. Like a coffee. Except it's way healthier and good for you. Its perfect for an after-workout pick me up in the cold months of spring. The lady at the counter helped me decide on the immunity broth which is made of chicken broth, garlic, ginger and vitamin c. The concoction tasted amazing! It was not overwhelming salty. I'm not sure I can get behind the cost of it though. A small cup set me back $6.30 which is steep so while I won't be a regular customer, I'll definitely come here occasionally when I need that pick me up. I personally love this place. I don't understand the bad reviews. I don't think people understand what a blessing it is to even have a restaurant that only cooks with olive oil, the meat is 100% grass-fed, free-range chicken etc. i'm not sure where these other reviewers are getting such mindfully sourced food for less than $15, that's pretty much the standard number everywhere you go. You can go to wholefoods where they are less transparent about what meat theyre using, and it's the same $15. Also for the people saying the food is bland, I think that they've just forgotten what the taste of food is when it's not drowned out by salt and seed oils. The broth is absolutely amazing too. People spend $5-7 dollars a day on coffee but for some reason $6 on a cup of broth is out of this world expensive. I guess it's all where your priorities lie, and your perspective. I've only had the beef dishes (please bring back the hamburger!!) and they were always great. Your body always left feeling great. The workers are always very kind as well.
