We went to visit my niece at her job. She told us this restaurant has really good banh mi sandwich and bubble tea drinks. They specialize in Vietnamese food, we ordered the banh mi sandwich and couple of bubble tea drinks. Also the popcorn chicken in spicy Cajun seasoning and crab lagoon. My cousin recommended the spring rolls, which were big. Looked like a mini burrito. Restaurant is nice and green, I think their theme is matcha. Located near the HEB grocery store, you'll see it right off the main road.

Upon entering, we were met with inattention. Is this the new standard under different management? Having previously been regular patrons, we noticed a change in staff and protocol, as we were required to seat ourselves. A white couple arriving after us received immediate attention, while we waited for 10 minutes. This discrepancy in service was notable. Consequently, we have chosen not to return after having been ignored.

Sarah T.

I was ready to give this place an outstanding review after our first visit but when we went back, we found out the pho we received was not actually vegetarian like we were told. The customer service when we went back was good. We were offered a discount as an apology for the mixup, but the discount was small and I don't feel like it made up for the experience. Unfortunately, we were incredibly disappointed. To further our disappointment, there are few vegan options, which is surprising as spring rolls are usually vegan. We did get food we liked but will likely not be back because there just aren't enough options for us. I hope they offer a vegan broth for the pho! That would get us back in. 3 stars because the bahn mi and spring rolls are good.

This place's Vietnamese food will knock your socks off. It is so good! The staff was super friendly and the place has a cool vibe. I didn't get any boba so I'll have to come back to try it. Their menu is very impressive. I can't wait to try everything on it!

Wow. This was the best bahn mi I've ever had. -The pho is pretty standard, nothing stood out for me. -The passion fruit tea was WAY over sweet, like barely drinkable. I watered it down at home. I did order it 1/4 sweet though so I was not very happy when it was THAT sweet. -Plain pandan waffle was decent, wanted more pandan flavor. I don't like the extra toppings therefore not ordered. It took a long time to come out... had to go to the cashier to ask when it's ready bc I was ready to leave (mind you.. didn't seem like a busy day, 2-3 other ppl already sitting down eating, couple drive through pick ups, I already finished my meal). -The bahn mi though... wow. Picture does the justice. Topping galore. Definitely wish there was more "meat", 2 slices, or 3 meatballs doesn't do the sandwich any justice. I mean look at it .. ITS HUGE! They need to bump up the meat portion for the sandwich to make it proportionate. 3 stars for overly sweet tea (even though ordered 1/4 sweet), bump up the meat ratio in sandwiches, and waited too long for the pandan waffle. I am a return customer and hopefully I can give them 5 stars next time!! I will recommend this place for sure!

Spring Rollin' is a hidden gem in Magnolia. It has delicious vietnamese food with so many options to choose from. I highly recommend trying the spring rolls, egg roll, ragoons, banh mi, boba teas, and vermicelli bowls. I'm surprised they're not very busy during lunch, though it's always several people eating lunch when I've come to the restaurant.

Crunchy bread and fresh veggies, the egg rolls also crunchy and filled generously. Very friendly service all around.

Guava slushy and Taro Milk Tea, both with boba

Why 4 stars? Because it's something familiar, but with a twist. --- --- --- We drove past this place right around the time it had either just opened, or was soon-to-open, and I knew we would definitely need to come back to check it out. A few weeks later, when my wife was driving back home from Austin, we decided to meet here since it was perfectly on the way. I was a bit confused by the menu when I first walked in. It was explained that this was essentially a Chipotle-style system, where you choose between Spring Rolls, a Banh Mi Sandwich or a Banh Mi Bowl, as a base. Then you choose the meat, the starch, the veggies, the sauce, etc. I was not aware of that and was just in the mood for the standard banh mi and spring rolls, so I just had them build out each item as "the usual". We got both peanut sauce and sweet and sour sauce for dipping of the spring rolls. The peanut sauce was good, but the sweet and sour sauce was amazing. Also, these spring rolls were massive compared to the norm. We definitely enjoyed them. The banh mi was definitely very different. The bread was very thick and the sandwich just didn't quite have the same flavor as what I'm accustomed to, but it grew on me, the more that I ate it. Between this and the spring rolls, it was quite a messy lunch. We then ordered some boba teas and a waffle for dessert. I went with a guava slushy with boba, because I love guava but rarely see it on boba menus. It was enjoyable, but I'd probably opt to try something different for visit #2. But the coconut waffle was awesome. I added creme brulee cream on top and loved every bite of it. I am definitely rooting for this local business and hope the people of Magnolia support it!

Lorena R.

Very nice esthetic/concept. Comfortable booths/tables. Super clean restaurant with very friendly staff. Definitely plan on returning to try one of their "build your own" options. I had the brisket pho and honestly, the flavor was "lacking"... the meat could definitely be more tender and the broth was lack luster... my friend had the shrimp pho and agreed it needed a little something. Although we had different pho, we had the same broth, which tasted more like chicken with the proteins dropped in. They could definitely use some tweaking to their broth recipe. It is a welcome addition to the area, considering the lack of variety/dining options.

Love the aesthetic, husbands pho bowl with brisket was good!!!

Ali M.

First time here and I loved it! I got the spicy beef bowl, my husband did the "build your own pho bowl" we got some egg rolls (which were delicious) and I got a sugar free peach and mango jasmine green tea boba!!! Next time I come I want to try the spring roll burritos!

Been on a hunt for Bun Bo Hue in the area. You really have to go 45 North towards Spring area, but somebody referred me here and I'm grateful they did. The fried pork dumplings to the Thai Red Milk tea were delightful and delicious. Oh and the Bun Bo Hue, broth had so much flavor, they gave me a decent portion of noddles and generous with the meat. I don't ever leave reviews on establishments but the ambiance here and the customer service plus how tasty the food was, I had to leave something positive. I will be coming a lot more often and next time bringing my family, friends. Thank you!

Don't sleep on this place!! I eat Viet food everywhere, all parts of San Antonio, Austin, through Houston and gotta say this place is up there. Better than any spot in San Antonio, most places in Atx, and comparable to the hot spots in Houston. Something for everyone here if you've never had Vietnamese pho, banh mis, etc. (chicken nuggies for kids). Their eggrolls are hearty, my pho broth was rich, and my parents enjoyed their braised beef stew! Husband inhaled their shaken beef. Viet coffee is good and strong and next time would ask for less ice to get more out of it. We'll be back to try the egg bubble station (unsure if that is Vietnamese but great add) Great new interior design, poppy music, attentive and fast staff. Be patient if it gets busy during the cold months. Worth it. Very glad this gem is here in this growing area. Hope they keep killing it and don't change too much.

We absolutely love this place! We have stopped by a handful of times and it never disappoints. Today we only tried their egg rolls. Probably the best I've had in a while. They were full of taste, crunchy, fresh and simply awesome. Their teas and slushees are amazing as well. The staff is always friendly. The venue is spacious, clean and with great ambience. They also have a small outdoor area as well as a drive thru. Quickly becoming one of our favorite stops. read more

If you're searching for the best Pho' in Magnolia, Spring Rolling is where it's at! I had the House special and it was so good! The bowl was big enough for two so bring your appetite. My daughter had the chicken soup (pho) and we split an order of egg rolls. We were so stuffed by all the wonderful food! We also got a boba tea, I had the passion fruit tea with passion fruit boba. My go to! My daughter had the peach smoothy with mango boba topping. Hers was amazing. I may have to switch my favorite. I highly recommend you try out Spring Rolling as we need this restaurant to succeed here in Magnolia. They're just too amazing! read more

My family and I came to check out this place. They have great customer service. From the minute we walked in, we were kindly greeted by one of the staff members. He proceeded to help us with the menu. We tried out several things on the menu including the crab ragoons, chicken dumplings, chicken noodle soup, 2 orders of traditional spring rolls and Vietnamese coffee. Everything tasted amazing, however we were not expecting the spring rolls to be so big. They're more like spring burritos. One order could definitely feed 2. Came in not knowing what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Banh Mi - pork and all the fixings, fried egg rolls and crab Rangoon. To drink we got a passion fruit boba and a Vietnamese coffee. The Banh Mi was DELICIOUS. The bread was fresh and crispy. The meat was a perfect mix of seasonings and the veggies were perfection. The egg rolls and rangoons were the same, perfectly fried and delicious. My only complaint was that I got full and couldn't keep on eating. read more

I want to preface my review with a disclaimer that we ordered right at close, and I will be trying it again at a different time of day and may edit this review at a later date. That being said, we were extremely unhappy with the food we were given. I'll start with the pho; a lackluster broth that lacked clarity and flavor with no offer of chili oil, sriracha, or hoisin to help it be more palatable. I don't think good pho broth needs those extra condiments but in this case I believe it would have helped the cloudy brown broth at least have some redeeming qualities. We struggled to finish the bowl, and we spilt an order, and definitely did not drink the broth. However, the ingredients and meat were generally of good quality and freshness. Not enough jalapeños offered as well as we were given lemon instead of lime which, not that big a deal but sometimes you just expect the usual. Next, the Bahn Mi; it was ok. Nothing really wrong with it. My husband didn't know about the processed meats that are common in Vietnamese food so he was disappointed but all in all the bread was good, sauce was good, veggies were fresh, but no jalapeños in it which I was sad about. The pickled carrots were great. The golden milk tea with boba was very good but in my opinion can't redeem what the pho did to my appetite. Inside the restaurant is very nice, clean, service is alright for being right at closing time. Nothing to complain about there. Overall, a clean restaurant with probably better food than what we got. Our experience just happened to be tainted by our dinner's flavor. read more

YAY! A good spot in Magnolia for vegan options and good tofu. So grateful. It is also so hard to find a good place for filling food and boba, and spring rolling does it. I want to give this business 5 stars for their food. I've tried the Bahn Mi, Pho, salad, and various boba teas and it is all outstanding in flavor, quality, and freshness. Unfortunately on 3 separate occasions now they have omitted things from my order or made it wrong. Example: no protein and sauce with my salad, completely omitted my egg rolls that I ordered with pho, and gave me a slush versus tea boba. Attention to detail is where this place is lacking, and it seems as they are getting busier the details like: making sure an order is correct, and wiping off tables is lacking. Again the food is excellent, just double check your order before you go! read more

Great new Vietnamese place in Magnolia. Been waiting for a good Banh Mi place to pop up in the area and this place is great. The restaurant layout is like a BYO sandwich or spring roll. They have lots of options for proteins, veggies and sauces. The boba was delicious and on par with places I've tried in Bellaire. Definitely worth a try for lunch or a quick meal. We got two pork Banh Mi, a Royal milk tea with boba, and a taro milk tea with lychee jelly. Service was nice, lots of young adults working behind the counter and the people I encountered were very patient and knowledgeable as it was my first time ordering from a shop with this layout. read more

I get it you're understaffed, but you gotta greet the people when they come in and you gotta acknowledge on people are sitting at the table. You can't just pass by because you're busy. Again, though the food is good and we enjoyed the pizza we enjoyed the big wings I think I've been here at least five or six times and the food has always been excellent. You'll be all right, just to to work on staffing

The staff was one of the biggest highlights of our visit. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. They checked on us often without ever making us feel rushed or interrupted, which is a balance that's surprisingly hard to find. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to the experience. While everything arrived fresh and looked appealing, the flavors were very underwhelming. Most of our meal was bland and lacked the seasoning or depth that would make us want to come back. We kept expecting each bite to have that classic diner comfort-food flavor, but it never quite got there. I genuinely wanted to love this place because the people and the atmosphere were wonderful. With a few improvements to the food, I think Magnolia Diner could be really good. I appreciate the hospitality we received and hope the kitchen finds a way to match the quality of the service.

Spring Rolling is so great! As soon as I walked in, the ambiance was just perfect. The interior was very chic with cool lighting and unique decor. But let's get down to the real star of the show - the food. We ordered the House Special, traditional spring rolls, and fruit teas. It was out of this world. The flavors were so fresh and each bite was absolutely delicious. The tea was blown away. The service was impeccable. The servers were super friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. All in all, I highly recommend checking out this new restaurant. The food, ambiance, and service were all top-notch. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes. read more

Not sure what's changed... but it just isn't the same…read more We still order form here often, being that it's so close to home. Some days the food is better than others, but it's been hit & miss with freshness, quality (and order accuracy). The dishes aren't prepared differently - flavor, quality, presentation. Still enjoy their pho (noodle soups) pretty well. The broth is rich and flavorful. But, most times the noodles are overcooked and stuck together, they're skimpy with the herbs, and the veggies aren't very fresh... The egg rolls have become very puny and the spring rolls don't have much filling either. Still our go-to for convenience, but we are on the lookout for a better option in the area.

However, I've noticed that the prices have gone up while the portions, especially the amount of meat, have gotten noticeably smaller. I usually order the combination pho, and while the broth is very flavorful, there is surprisingly little meat in the bowl. Our bowls also had no tendon or tripe, which was disappointing since it's supposed to be a combination pho. One thing that really stood out to me was the difference between the regular and large combination pho. The large bowl has significantly more broth, but it looks like it has pretty much the same amount of meat as the regular bowl. If you're ordering the large because you want more meat and ingredients, you may be disappointed. I don't mind paying a little more when the quality and portions justify it, but at the current prices, I would expect the amount of meat to be more generous. The flavors are still really good, but for the price, the value just isn't what it used to be.

Pok Pok Chicken appetizer. The dryest bland fried chicken we've ever had. We decided that it was best to throw it away rather than feed it to our dogs. It tasted like the chicken had been under a heat lamp for hours. 5. Crispy Chicken Rolls Appetizer. The only enjoyable part of the meal. We were excited to try a new place but were disappointed. All of the food wasn't awful but it wasn't exactly good either. The experience could have been worse as it could have been overpriced. The serving sizes were generous for the amount they charged.
