    Outside the tavern--cute!

We were in town as tourists and looking for a special place to celebrate a birthday. Our VRBO host recommended the tavern. They told us the wait was 20 min, we waited over 40 minutes. After we were seated, it was fifteen minutes until we saw our waiter. It was an hour before we got our food! The tavern is cute and comfortable. The food was hit or miss. The burger wasn't seasoned and wasn't cooked as asked. The portions were HUGE, but the food was just so-so. The angry bird wrap had no sauce or seasoning to speak of. The nachos and fries were large portions for a "small appetizer" but were three stars at best. The nachos had so many toppings, there weren't any chips! Just a pile of chili on a plate. The final thing our party ordered was steak Alfredo pasta--they are known for their steak, and the steak was unseasoned. We would not go back. 2.5 stars

Bit of wait since moms day weekend. Bigger inside than it looks and super packed. Very homey and rustic interior. The food of course mostly standard American. Food took way too long but service was super friendly made up for it. Enjoyed our meals, very reasonable prices - solid small town restaurant.

Food and service: 10/10 I was so glad we went to Spring House Tavern for dinner while we were visiting Bryce Resort. It was about a 30 minute drive, but so worth it! We went on a Sunday night and not many patrons dining at that time. Our server was amazing. Very friendly and attentive. All of the food we ordered came out quickly and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Crab dip was filled with so much crab. Mozzarella sticks were made in house and not from frozen. Kids ribs - the meat was so tender. Country-Fried Pork Chop with a side of Homemade Mac & Cheese was yummy! Nashville-Fried Chicken was juicy and amazing. There is no doubt we will be back if we are ever in the area. My daughter wanted to come back the next day, but they weren't open.

Food was excellent. Burger cooked perfectly. Shrimp pasta was loaded with shrimp. Good selection of beer.

Charcoal of a patty pulled apart so I could eat the center atleast.

My beyond burger was charcoal, they gave me 3 slivers of an onion and they also put an undisclosed pickle in my fries so I could actually eat nothing from this meal. The place was cute and old school and the people seemed nice but the food was inedible.

The restaurant was not busy when we arrived around 11:30. We were seated right away, but did wait longer than anticipated to place our drink and food order. We probably waited 45 minutes to get our food, which seemed too long based on the fact that there were only two tables to serve at that time. Our food arrived warm, not hot. My spouse ordered a special for the day, pork loin with mashed potatoes and gravy. It arrived with no gravy and it was a small portion. He said it was tasty, though, with the gravy he asked our waitress for. I ordered the BLT sliders with my request to add cheddar cheese and fried potatoes. I thought there should be more than one piece of bacon per slider, but the meal did taste fresh and flavorful. I am not sure that I would return, but I am not sorry we gave them a try. Service was friendly, but could have been more prompt. The food is tasty, but the portion sizes are small.

I've eaten crab cakes all over including several famous MD crab cakes and I work at a fresh seafood market where we make our own crab cakes. So when I say I know my crab cakes.... I know my crab cakes. Talk of the mountain: this is a super cute and friendly small restaurant located on Main Street. It is very local friendly and the kind of place the staff/owners would know your name and your regular order. I LOVE that. The staff are warm and inviting. You can watch them breading your food and chat with them as you eat. I loved watching. We got the crab cake with fried oysters and shrimp plate with Mac n cheese and fries and hush puppies and another fried shrimp plate with their slaw. It was pretty pricey but we expected that when buying quality seafood. The fried shrimp were absolutely incredible as were the fried oysters (minus the pearl my son found in the one he ate... but again not too much of a surprise). The taste was great, the cook time was perfect, they were delicious! The fries were seasoned and tasty as were the hush puppies (nothing to scream about but definitely good!) the slaw was good (according to my son... I'm not a slaw person). The Mac n cheese was definitely different but not exactly mind blowing. I felt indifferent I didn't love it and feel like I needed it tomorrow, but it wasn't bad. I honestly didn't have an opinion either way on it but I did eat it. The crab cake. The good: this was literally packed with crab meat. Obviously we seek out places that Jam Pack their crab cakes with actual pieces of quality lump crab. Talk of the Mountain certainly does this.... In my opinion to the extreme. When they say zero fillers, they MEAN IT. So does zero fillers make a good crab cake? In my opinion not this way. It was not my cup of tea and I love crab and crab cakes (obviously). It seemed like their formula for the binder was a mustard based concoction and then it was solid crab. The flavor left a lot to be desired and it didn't feel like eating crab cake because there was no filler at all. Making crab cakes is such a delicate balance, a true art in my opinion and while TOTM most definitely is serious about ensuring you taste the crab in their "cakes" the end result was more of a pile of lump crab with a sauce. All that being said I would absolutely eat there again. They were fabulous and I truly applaud their style. This is just my personal perspective from the one visit. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! Rating: my knee jerk is to give this a 4 because I really am not a fan of the Crabcake and would not order it again, however everything else and the people were 10 stars so I feel like a 5 star rating is deserved. If they ever modified their recipe I would try it again happily AND will def eat there again. The shrimp and oyster was phenomenal.

Where do I even start with the Blue Stone Inn?…read more At first glance, well...you might glance away and keep on driving, because it seems like one of countless little restaurants you might pass as you're zooming down a highway, focused on work, family, vacation, or other concerns. In fact, there's a good chance even I had passed the restaurant on more than one occasion. But don't do that, it's a huge mistake! Because as I discovered recently, every meal you miss at Blue Stone Inn isn't just lost deliciousness, it's an opportunity gone forever to break bread with friends and family in the kind of space that makes you long for a world that no longer exists - familiar, welcoming, old school. The Blue Stone Inn isn't fancy. It's rustic. And please don't read that as a criticism, it isn't. It's definitely nice. I realized I was vibing hard, loving the atmosphere, the people, the vibe. Service was prompt and courteous with the familiar feel you only seem to get in smaller towns these days. And the food - OMG. Most of us started with a salad and the house bacon vinaigrette. And the breadbasket - so, so good, but don't fill up on it! Because all the food is To. Die. For. We then quickly moved on to various steaks. My ribeye was insanely delicious, cooked perfectly, with an excellent baked potato to round out the meal. My dining buddies upgraded to the steak-and-seafood combos, which were apparently also quite good. I skipped dessert - too much bread early on. But the delicate, beautiful, generous slices of cake my friends had ended the meal on a perfect note. Can't recommend Blue Stone Inn enough. Be aware that if you go, it seems there are some homeless cats in the parking lot and around the restaurant. Super friendly, I suggest bringing some treats for them. I had some cat food in the car so they got a little dinner as we were leaving. Enjoy!
