I had a double appointment for myself and my eight year old daughter and it was great! It was our first time here and the front desk staff was very helpful and nice. They were also accommodating to the fact that I had two extra children with me (family emergency). The wait time was minimal. The doctor was very professional and I felt that he did a thorough examination on the both of us. I found his diagnosis to be sincere and he wasn't pushy about glasses or contacts , which I know some doctors can be even for the slightest eye "blur". He answered all of my questions and concerns thoroughly. I would recommend them and feel glad we found a practitioner we can stick to. read more

Awesome Eye Care Providers. Called the day before to set up an eye exam, Dr.Akins was great! Probably the best eye doctor I've seen in 20yrs, he's straight forward with the pricing of contacts and options. He gives detailed explanations of the exams and eye care. The receptionists are outstanding! Their customer service is amazing. From the moment you walk in you feel comfortable and even if you call their very knowledgeable and understanding of any situation you might have. I will definitely go back for my next exam! Oh yeah there's no pressure to buy their products, I actually left after the exam to buy new frames from Warby Parker then returned for them to send out the new frames for my prescription! Highly recommend Dr. Cox and Spring Eye Care. He is very knowledgeable about many eye conditions and takes his time to listen to your concerns and answer questions. I also recommend using the 3 d eye scan. I had an eye condition pop up this year and it was easier to spot and see progression by comparing scans from last year. The biggest reason we go here though is he is experienced with accommodative esotropia (lazy eye). My daughter is a teen now, but we were always uneasy about prescriptions from other optometrists because they didn't seem to understand how prescriptions can be different for someone with that condition. He knew exactly what to do though and explained everything very well. read more

Dr Cox and his staff are amazing. If you live in the area this should be your eye dr. My son was hit by his little brother in the eye while they were playing in the pool. After a couple of hours he was not feeling better so I called and the Dr was able to squeeze us in. The staff is genuinely nice. They are not faking small talk here they are just genuinely nice people. Dr. Cox is caring and thorough and just a good guy. While I did come here because of my sons injury, once this heals I will make sure we all come here as a family for our yearly eye exams. No one in the office asked for me to write a review. I left and felt compelled just to let others know how nice they are here. Also since these are COVID times they have great procedures in place to protect the patients. My son needed a eye exam to pass his sports physical. His was outdated and had obviously changed. When I first called to set an appointment, they were booked about a month out. I was disappointed, but understood as I soon found most Optometrist in the area were similarly booked out about a month. The staff called and said they could squeeze us in late in the afternoon. They took the time to show my son how to put in and take out contacts. They were extremely professional and courteous, they wore masks the whole time and wiped down everything we touched. I personally thought that was awesome, knowing they were taking the time to protect future clients, themselves, and my family. I would highly recommend and will definitely go back. read more

Drove all the way from Oklahoma on the recommendation of my brother-in-law and it was not a wasted trip. Dr Brian Cox is a truly exceptional doctor who, using the latest technology, provides the most in-depth, thorough exam and explanation that my wife and I have ever received. I have reviewed other eye doctors, but he is, by far, the very best. He diagnosed and prescribed the correct treatment program for my wife after 2 optometrists and 2 ophthalmologists failed or incorrectly diagnosed her problem. Two days after Dr Cox diagnosed her and prescribed her a treatment regime, her eyes are clearing. The clinic is warm and the staff is friendly, and taking all of the proper precautions to keep every safe. This clinic is the very best. Dr Cox is amazing. My son went for his annual eye exam and contact lens fitting. His insurance clearly states that co-pays are to be $15 for the eye exam and $40 for a routine contact lens fitting, obviously the total would be $55 without purchasing glasses or contacts. They charged him $110 for the eye exam and contact lens fitting. Unknowingly he paid but when he spoke with his insurance company they told him that was incorrect. He went back for a refund thinking that this was an honest mistake. But then they tried to tell him that he must purchase contact lenses at the time of the exam if he wants to utilize his $40 co-pay for the contact lens fitting. Again, incorrect information. They did issue the refund for $110 (pending) and charged him the correct amount of $55 for the exam and contact lens fitting. Hopefully that will post on his c/c statement correctly. I work for an optometrist and deal with eye insurance on a daily basis so I am very familiar as to what co-pays and benefits are for the patients. Insurance can be very confusing and intimidating but as the patient you should be treated with respect and not be taken advantage of. The fact is that what they initially charged him and what they told him is absolutely false. I am fully aware that my son is old enough to take care of this himself, which he did but I cannot help but wonder is how many sons, daughters and other patients has this "experienced" staff taken advantage of by not billing them correctly and feeding them false information. If you do visit this office be educated of your insurance co-pays and benefits...matter of fact you might want to call your insurance company and verify what you will owe for the exam so that you don't spend more than what you're supposed to. read more

I am extremely disappointed with Spring Eye Care customer service. My wife and I have been going here for years and we had an appointment to get our eyes checked. My wife and I both woke up that day and were not feeling well so we called and canceled the appointment and were going to reschedule our appointments for another day. The person we spoke with said that we would have to pay a cancellation fee of $25.00 each. We are both retired and $50.00 is a lot of money for us not to mention we are on fixed incomes, and we asked to speak with the Doctor, and he never responded to us. My wife even sent him an email explaining what had happened that day and to reschedule our appointments but again he never responded. About two days ago we received an invoice for the $50.00 dollar fee. We are Senior's citizens, and you would think they would have something in place to not make it so hard on us. Anyway, we are both very dissatisfied with Spring Eye Care. The worst part about it is that the Doctor was always very friendly and nice to us and then this happens. I just got my third set of glasses. I have to say this is the first time I fell they are 100% correct. The doctor too a lot more time with me getting everything correct and explaining the results of my exam in more detail than ever before. I know people seem to think any eye doctor can do a good job, but for a great experience I would visit Spring Eye Care!!! Prescribed the wrong glasses, when I said that I couldn't see, they told me to give it a time. Since it was my first glasses I trusted the doctor. What a big mistake. I had to go back and wait another couple weeks while dr. corrected the prescription and redo the glasses. This is their primary service and he wasn't able to do it. I've been going here for a long time and things had been great.. but this last time I went I kept explaining to the doctor that I didn't think the prescription was as clear as it should be because I was having a hard time seeing as I normally do, and he assured me that once I had the actual lenses it would be fine. Well now I'm out $600 and cannot see. My vision is literally worse with the contacts he prescribed than it is without.. and my vision is awful as it is so that's saying something. Waste of time did literally nothing for me if you need anything more than a pair of glasses save your money

My initial feeling was not great. The staff were not very welcoming and involved in their own personal stories. Thankfully, my experience got better. I still was not pleased with the young lady that did the prior testing, she just seemed like we were an inconvenience and she was just "doing her job". Dr. Cox was super nice, and great at explaining things. What redeemed our experience as first time patients, was the gentleman that helped us choose our glasses. He was the friendliest and easily had the best personality. Overall our experience was meh, but hopefully will be better next time. read more

The doctor was nice and very thorough with my mother. She got glasses for the first time in a decade. The price was expensive even with insurance but she can see again. He even helped her with her burning eyes and got her on an eye drop to help and it has. They were nice with me while I went back to keep her company with my newborn son.
