Dr. Shrum always takes time to talk with me and address my concerns and I never feel rushed or like 'just another patient'. Bonnie handled my fitting for my new glasses. She was new to me at this location but was an absolute joy to work with. She was kind and had a great awareness for people and made my visit pleasant. I had to leave my old glasses for processing and when I went to check out, Donna even loaned me a pair of readers to hold me over till my glasses come in. She could have sold me a pair for $30 but no, she put the customer first... almost unheard of in today's society. There is no question that Dr. Shrum and his staff are top notch medical providers, but they are also at the top of their game in customer service. With a rare combination like this, my family will be back again and again and I recommend you do the same.

A truly great experience. Wish I'd been coming here to get my eyes examined all along . . …read more When another eye care facility located next to Costco (where I get my prescriptions filled due to their incredible prices) was a bit too rigid regarding their protocols, I did my research for an alternative. Excellent reviews at Eyescript prompted me to go ahead and make an appointment. Great location, plenty of parking. Very thorough and courteous office staff. Dr. Nguyen is wonderful! She did a complete eye exam, not only for me to obtain a new prescription, but to adequately check the health of my eyes. She questioned me extensively about glaucoma (family history, especially) and asked whether I had been informed previously about my apparent indications of glaucoma. Stumped, I told her that nothing had ever been mentioned to me, and I had just had my eyes checked a little over a year ago. Apparently, there are indicators that I may be developing this eye condition and these indicators have been present for years. Wow! Immediately made an appointment for a glaucoma screening. I did get a new prescription that will hopefully help me see better than I do now -- thanks to Dr. Nguyen for taking such painstaking care to make sure I was happy with her recommendations. I will be back (obviously), and I would not hesitate to recommend her and this location to anyone needing an honest, thorough eye exam.

It has been hard to find one in the Houston area and I'm glad we found it. We came in for my husband's exam, but ended up getting a new set of glasses for my daughter. They had these cute glasses for kids with cat ears and since they were so great with my husband I decided to get her another pair of glasses. Dr Chen was knowledgeable, pleasant and I could tell he was focused on the customer experience. He took time to double check her current prescription and make sure everything was perfect instead of just rushing the process. There was also someone at the front desk that helped adjust my daughter's glasses and she was very helpful. She showed my kid how to properly take off her glasses and shared what kind of frames she should get next time so they do not slide down her face. I appreciated the time she took to do this. The office is in the Woodlands and I live in Cypress. Even though it is far, I will return for my own exam and glasses.

First, I was charged an additional fee that was not covered by my insurance, but no one informed me about the extra charge beforehand or asked for my approval. In my experience, if there is an additional charge for a service that insurance does not cover, the patient should be informed in advance and given the opportunity to approve or decline the service. More concerningly, they took my glasses to measure the prescription. When my glasses were returned to me, I noticed a very noticeable scratch on the right lens and two lighter scratches on the left lens. I immediately pointed this out, but they denied that the damage had occurred while they were handling my glasses. Every time I went out of the house I cleaned my glasses and inspected them carefully, there were no scratches there before. For the first time in my nearly 40 years of wearing glasses, my glasses were scratched by an eye care provider. Although I ordered these glasses last year, they had been kept in their case because I was still wearing my other old glasses. I have only been wearing this pair for about two or three months, and they are still relatively new because I am a very careful person when it comes to my glasses. Because these are rimless glasses, I take extra care when handling and cleaning them. I paid approximately $400 out of pocket after insurance for these glasses, which have progressive, high-index 1.67 lenses. I'm very upset and saddened by how this situation was handled. I'm considering seeking help to determine what consumer or regulatory remedies may be available. I will not be returning to Glimpse Eye Care. They have lost my family's business.

I went onto my insurances web site VSP to look for providers of course there were several to use from but Visionworks had better evening hours, I called them first to make sure they took VSP insurance. I learned through them about HD Vision Center which is conveniently located next door to Visionworks. I was able to not only speak to a human but get an appointment right a way. On the appointment day I made sure to bring my son early to fill out any paperwork that was needed and made sure to bring his old glasses so they could pull the script off of them since it was the frames that only broke. Made it sure easy for the tech to get the script off them so the I doctor could help my son better. The eye doctor was thorough and spoke to my son clearly enough for him to understand and my son was able to respond as well as answer the eye doctors questions. Everything went smoothly!
