I've come to this particular location 3 times the first time was a complete success. The next two times were a disaster...sadly, I won't be returning to this location even though it's closest to me. The young lady I presume to be a "manager" or whomever she is should learn how to be more professional when customers are present. And possibly learn some stress management techniques rather than brushing off a for a small miscommunication regarding "asking for an additional ranch " sorry if you can't be bothered by such trivial things. As a business owner in the food industry, I consider it a blessing people are still able to eat at an establishment they work hard for their money and should have an experience that reflects that. Service here is always horrible if you aren't missing bbq or silverware or even bread. There are still things they forget with your order. Some employees are wearing masks; some aren't. They don't enforce social distancing when people are all balled up outside the doors trying to place their order. Horrible Spring Creek. Restaurant filled with smoke, slippery floors, and horrible customer service. We had to get up and ask for rolls, etc. multiple times throughout lunch. No one cares about working here and it is very apparent. The meat was sub par, and sides awful. I got a 3 meat plate that looked like a 2 meat and had to take my 90% fat brisket back. Being a native Texan, I have had my share of BBQ. I am usually a fan of little mom and pop shops, and not big on chain restaurants. The exception for me and my family is Spring Creek Barbeque. Their turkey is always a huge hit with my family. We cater Spring Creek for birthdays and some holidays, and order it to go for nights when we take a break from cooking. The sides are great and plentiful. Their cobbler with Blue Bell ice cream is always a big hit. We frequent the Grapevine location and they are always friendly and professional. read more

I've had good experience with Spring Creek BBQ at other locations, so I went in thinking of the same quality. I ordered the brisket and sausage plate. The brisket was unusually dry, but that wasn't the worst part. I thought something smelled rancid when I picked up a piece of the brisket, and it was a mistake to eat it. Went there tonight for Valentine's Day. The place was pretty busy but we got through the line pretty quickly and the food was as good as it usually is there which is like 7/10 Barbeque and 1/10 sides. I'm giving 1 start so that hopefully ownership or management sees it and cares about this next part. The second we got there the first on our minds was "where's the bread?" We noticed no one had a role and we got worried. Then we spent the next hour and a half watching the bread lady. This young girl was WORKING HER ASS OFF!!! She was non stop putting bread in the basket and baking it back to back only for every fucking customer and their mother to stop her and demand they get their roles. And I understand where they were coming from because the rolls are a big part of the restaurant, however, and I'm not sure who messed up, but they were way behind on rolls. This girl would fill the basket and then run out completely within 30 seconds. Walking around and having people request 3-4-5-6 rolls. Then she'd return to the ovens and people would angrily come up to the bar and angrily snap at her and rudely question her on why they got skipped or why they didn't get any bread. And these people were literally yelling at her when she was walking around and stopping her and cornering her to get their damn bread. Then at 8:00 ( an hour before closing ) a manager came up to her and the other girl and told them to start shutting down bread. My wife and I literally looked at each other worries and starting laughing, thinking "this guy's a fucking moron". She tried shutting it down like he said but the demands for rolls did not stop. So, manager, listen up. STAND UP FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES. Do not let these customers treat this young lady like this, and talk to them. If they're bitching about the bread you should be talking to them to explain the situation. But it was obvious to us that you weren't paying attention at all and that is unacceptable. Do you job. Ownership, GET A NEW SYSTEM FOR BREAD!! A bigger oven, or two baskets, or one roll per customer per basket filling, SOMETHING! Nobody should have to work that hard and be treated so horribly because you can't keep up with the bread demand. Olive Garden never runs out of bread stick, red lobster never runs out of biscuits, and you shouldn't be running out of bread ever 5 minutes, only for the customer to wait another 10-15 minutes before there's more bread and it still being VERY likely they won't get any because they're all gone before the employee gets to them. I feel very bad for this young lady and I'm very upset and disappointed with management. Horrible. read more

Meal was so so. My review is more safety oriented. My father , who granted walks with a cane, fell in front of the kitchen doors. As people were assisting him up I overhead a girl go back in the kitchen and yell "Someone fell again". I went to SpringCreek with my son. It's always been a favorite. But this time, the manager was AMAZING!! His name is Mike Quinney (Bedford Tx location). They call him Q. The store was so clean and the food very tasty (we ordered the ribs and combo plate). Q welcomed us with a big smile and answered all our questions. The hot roles were timely and delicious! As far as chains go, this is one of the better BBQ ones. Not a fan of the Carolina-style pulled pork. Maybe because I'm a native Texan and I love Texas BBQ, or maybe I just don't like it. Recently they started offering you the choice between lean and moist brisket. This has to be in response to all the great smokehouses popping up. This has greatly improved what they offer because sometimes they would just give you what they have whether it was your preference or not. And because of that you don't have to drown it in sauce if you get some lean cut with no marbling or bark. The best dish here is definitely the ribs. The default for them is to put sauce on it, but they don't need them. Very flavorful and falls right off the bone. Although it doesn't do anything for me, everyone else I come with loves the hot fresh bread they come around to the tables with. Usually at least a couple times during your stay. read more

This time I came for the ribs! Yesterday, I had Red Hot and Blue's ribs and although their meat fell right off the bone and has a choice of four sauces, Spring Creek's ribs are better in the way that the rib sauce was grilled onto it and they have additional sauce, heated up! When we usually come here, we didn't get free complimentary ice cream, but today we did. This place is super sentimental for me. I used to come every single summer when I was visiting family in the Dallas area. I admittedly used to hate the smell (the smell of yummy delicious BBQ, I know, what was wrong with me?!) but grew to appreciate it as I got older. I hadn't been back in about a decade so of course a few things changed. They updated the interior a bit and the prices are a bit higher (a little less than $10 for the lunch special or sandwich plate) but the food is still good and their rolls...holy crap. The buttery goodness that melts in your mouth as they bring them by your table, fresh out of the oven. Their BBQ sauce is still the perfect blend of spicy and tangy, same with their beans. The mac n cheese wasn't super flavorful but wasn't terrible. I love the cafeteria style line. They serve you the meat and the rest is up to you...sides and all. It really is a good amount of food so don't let the price tag scare you away. Parking is still tricky at this one if you go at a busy time (lunch or dinner). It's located right off of the expressway too so it's a little tricky to get to. We went around 1:30 ion a weekday though so it was easy to find a spot. Spring Creek catered our daughters wedding last weekend and I am extrememly happy with their service and the quality of the food. Our contact person left the company during the planning but we were connected with a new contact who made sure everything was set for us. The staff who came to the wedding was friendly and got everything set up quickly, served our guest in a very timely manner, and the portion sizes were very good. They also left the portion of food we paid for that was not served to guests who were unable to attend. I am very pleased with the overall experience and would definitly choose to use them again! Excellent barbeque. Yeah, it's a chain, but so what? Does that mean a place can't make good BBQ? These guys know how to crank out some serious 'que. I love the yardbird plate. All the meats here are cooked to perfection....nicely moist, good smokey flavor. The sauce is excellent. Don't pass on the sides -- green beans are a particular favorite of mine. Solid ranch beans, cole slaw, and so forth. Nice desserts. If you order a sandwich, be sure to get it all the way. (There's a fun yell that's a tradition that's gratis with this order.) As mentioned in other reviews, the yeast rolls are ridiculously awesome....there's usually a staff member walking around every few minutes to share hot, buttery buns from a giant bread basket. Brothers and sisters, it doesn't get better than that! This is a great place for group lunches. Get on the mailing list and you'll get the periodic coupon in the mail. Spring Creek BBQ makes a special effort to employ local high school kids -- for many, it's their first real job. I like that in a business. Also, the order process is perfect and swift. In a hurry? I LOVE THIS PLACE, except for one thing mentioned in the last paragraph. My family and I have been coming here ever since I started eating solid foods. Kidding, but definitely for the last 20 years. I always get the ribs and sausage combo, with extra BBQ sauce please! Sides are unlimited- my favorite are the green beans (has bits of meat in it!) and cole slaw. They also have potato salad, mac-n-cheese, and pickles. On top of that, HOT FRESH BREAD! Omg, the rolls are melt in your mouth delicious, especially with a slab of butter. Large batches of them are being made and brought around every 10-15 minutes in a bread basket, so they are hot and fresh. So this review is sounding like a 5 star review, why only 4? 4 is actually being generous too only because this is the best BBQ in my opinion. When my relatives in Dallas recommended Spring Creek, I was really excited, because Texans know good barbecue. Then I was worried when I saw that you go through a cafeteria line to get your food. In my experience, cafeteria lines don't serve good food. I guess there's a first time for everything. I ordered the brisket and the black pepper sausage, along with the baked beans and the potato salad. The sides were very tasty, and the brisket was good: tender and flavorful. My favorite was the sausage, with just the right spice (not hot, but peppered very well). The staff is friendly, and for the amount you get, it's a good value. This place serves consistently good brisket and other barbecue. As a displaced resident currently on the East Coast, I grew up with this venue and enjoy coming here whenever I visit Richardson. The brisket, while not phenomenal, is excellent for the price. There's a light smokiness to it that provides a delicious flavor without overpowering the meat. I love the sausage and chicken as well, but for the $8.25 lunch plate (one meat, veggies and bread roll), I opt for the brisket. Amazing food. Fresh bread is given throughout the meal. It was a little confusing how it all worked, but I figured it out. The pulled pork had a mustard sauce seasoning or similar on it. Let's be honest, we all know what to expect when going to a franchise barbecue chain. If you honestly expect some brisket with an excellent bark and a huge smoke ring. you're gonna be more disappointed than iphones fans at the releasing of the 4s. Springcreek is around because its for the people who just want to put some sort of barbecue in their mouths. The brisket is not going to have a deep smoke tlavor or even be heavily colored. It honestly looks undercooked when you get it, or atleast injected with sometrhing to give it a light brown color. You don't specify "moist" or "lean" at places like this because most of the time, the server won't even know what that is. You just get whatever he/she slices you. The sausage is your standard eckrich sausage that you find at the grocery store. The ribs are just tender ribs with no particular strong flavor. The sides are passable and aren't amazing nor horrible. The one thing Springcreek BBQ does well is the rolls, and it's only because its saturated with butter. The rolls are super soft and buttery, given that when they hand it to you, atleast the botton half of the roll is dripping with butter. Come here to just eat meat, and don't have any expectations and you will most likely be satisfied by it. read more
