This place is the absolute BEST! I wish I could give them more stars. After searching so many bridal stores for the veil I wanted I came to the conclusion it didn't exist so I sought out some options to have it made. I was very nervous having never dealt with them before. But the service was amazing from start to finish. We started with some different tulles and I brought some material I wanted to incorporate from my dress, they have endless supply of every lace for edging you can imagine. With measurements and drawing out my ideas on a page it was sent to be cut, a couple of weeks later I came back and they have everything pinned just in place so we could still make amends I was so excited we added some bits and then I came back two weeks later to the most beautiful veil you can ever imagine.I am so excited to wear it for my wedding. This store and it's staff are so knowledgeable and absolute professionals at what they do. Could not recommend them anymore. read more

Do not go in this place if your a bride! The customer service is terrible and rude. I NEVER write reviews, but I am now especially with the experience I just had there an hour ago picking up my bridal head piece that cost over $300!! . The older Spanish short women (who I think is the manager, Alice?) was so nasty, and has absolutely no customer skills! The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the owner apologized on her behalf and I had a super nice and sweet sales assistant. They are the only reason whyy i walked out with my peice The sales assistant was working with me on placement and curving the piece a certain way for the updo I'll have for my wedding day. I asked if god for bid, something happens to my head peice the day I have bridal hair trail, if a stone falls out, a piece breaks, whatever it is. As a bride you think of all the "what if's" I didn't ask for it to be a free fix. I'll pay for it. The older women just keeps saying in a NASTY way "no, your taking it in perfect condition" I kept saying I understand, but what if it need a to be fixed ? her response was the same and nastier. If customers are asking you something, LEARN TO SPEAK IN A NICE WAY. Then when the owner apologized, I paid for my peice with the sales assistant and the lady comes over and lies to him saying that I can bring it back to fix. Are you kidding me?? Just a horrible experience with this women! There was a nice gentleman waiting for his fiance there and he even agreed that the way she was saying it was rude and would get anyone worried especially after spending that kind of money. Frank the owner is a nice guy and they have gorgeous lace but the other woman Alice who also runs the shop does not belong in customer service or retail. The woman will turn your joyful wedding dress experience into the worst day of your life. She will take every bit of joy and happiness out of your wedding dress experience and ruin it forever. I will never forget how unkind and rude she was not only to me but her assistants and other customers on the multiple occasions I visited the shop. I also speak Spanish but kept quiet and understood what terrible things she was saying about me right in front of me!! That is what you call an ignorant woman! Unparalleled customer service that you simply do not get in any other fabric store. * Now I'm not sure if he is a regular employee there, but there is a gentleman there named Carlos from the GG Couture New York Tailor Shop - he is an image adviser that sells tuxedos and suits. He seemed nice and professional, but I ended up not using him, as he is based out of the boroughs and it would be somewhat of a trek for me to reach him when needed. Some cons: It's not really a con - more of a tip when considering this store. Don't be fooled by the "$$" on this company's listing as you do get what you pay for. If you want the best fabric for your dress or the best dress a bride can have, expect to pay a little more. You're paying for quality of the fabric, the expertise that the employees provide, and the attention that they pay to you. My mom-in-law and my wife purchased fabric here 4 months ago and made my wife's wedding dress with that fabric! As mentioned before, Sposabella is the best!!!! They are the furthest from prejudice and only treat their customers and anyone who walks into their store with the upmost respect and like family. My husband who is Nigerian and myself being Italian were very impressed with the quality of lace and even more so impressed with the fair and respectful treatment they gave us each and everytime we entered their store!! They made the most exceptional dress for me last year and we continue to have an amazing relationship with them to this day!! Its been about 5 years since I was married and I still think of how amazing and helpful everyone was at sposabella. I am and FIT design graduate so of course I made my own wedding dress, but wanted intricate swarovski beadwork panels made for my gown. Sposabella had someone make my amazing panels, and always kept me in the loop going back and forth with samples. This one is a toss-up for me. They have absolutely beautiful fabrics (in my opinion, they're the same as Mood fabrics, which is not a bad endorsement), and the owner seems to really care about and takes pride in his products. Customer service, however, was supremely lacking. My wedding dress seamstress recommended that I shop at Sposabella, and when I told her the fabrics were extremely expensive, she suggested that maybe Frank would help if I mentioned she had sent me. Not only was Frank not willing to budge even a penny (and we're talking extremely expensive fabric), he upsold me on how much I needed. He seems like a good guy but in my experience, I found him to be aggressive and somewhat lackadaisical to my needs. I wish I had the experience that other brides here have raved about. I suppose if you're only looking for great fabric and don't much care about customer service, this place is the right place for you. read more

Alice was extremely helpful in the process of finding the right lace for my veil. She responded to my email the next day and was able to find me a lace that almost exactly matched the lace on my dress, minus some beading. She was patient as I figured out how much I would need with my seamstress on the phone. The owner did not speak to me at all, but the rest of the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. On two separate occasions I was very insulted from being in this shop. The first time the owner accosted me for not buying anything. Brides look in more than one store before they spend $500 on something, right? I decided to give it another shot. Then today I was looking at headpieces and was only given about 5 minutes in that special roped off area. I guess they did not like the way I was looking at the headpieces? I was checking for missing stones, to see the different shapes and cuts of the stones. Again, if I am being asked to pay $500 and up for something, wouldnt you like some time to examine it? I was asked to leave and to come back when I was "ready to buy something." I was ready to buy a headpiece... I was just pushed out before I had the time. I will not be returning there and would urge others to stay away as well. How can you treat customers like that? 3 people working there, one other customer in the store besides me? And I was ushered out?? Such a shame. No idea about customer service. I did in fact purchase a beautiful headpiece today from a different store, and they let me examine it for as long as I wanted. Stay away from here unless you like being treated like a little peon who isnt worthy of even looking at accessories through glass, forget about actually touching them or trying them on. Went In there looking for particular scalloped lace. Saw in window that they had sample sale currently going on for headpieces. When I inquired within, sales person was very rude and said they had nothing available, even though I could see them displayed in case behind the counter. Not one person came up to me to help. Each person I went up to for help said they had nothing for me. Maybe because I'm black and did not have an exact wedding date or price budget to give them, they assumed I could not afford anything. Little do they know I work in industry and can make anything they have there myself. Will not recommend this store to any woman of color since they discriminate. So disappointed. read more

Sposabella made my custom veil for my wedding in October 2016. Alice is an absolute veil master. She knows more about lace and veils than I knew there was to know! After seeing one picture of my dress and a description of what I thought I wanted, she told me exactly what I needed and why her recommendation was better than what I was suggesting - and she was absolutely correct! She is incredibly sweet and patient. Throughout a few visits, she had the lace pinned to the veil so we could make changes at the trial visit before finalization. She told me how to care for the veil for the big day. Alice also provided my hand made pearl hair comb for the wedding. Everything in dealing with Sposabella was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend you consider a custom veil with Sposabella! The price range is not much higher than pre made veils at retail stores - and how much better to get something custom designed for you and your dress!! Highly recommend! PS - the shop is closed on Sundays. read more
