If you've read my other reviews, I don't give five stars lightly. But in this case, somehow Sportsworld was worth five stars and if I could give five and a half, I would. I am in town for only a couple days and in less than 30 minutes, this is the sports card (and other memorabilia) store I've always wanted to find. I could not have wished for a better experience. All my "wishes" would have fallen short of the tremendous customer service experience I found this afternoon. I arrived within 30 minutes of closing time but the store was PACKED and I soon figured out why: this is the PLACE. This is where anyone in driving distance of Boston needs to come for anything sports card or sports memorabilia. You will NOT leave disappointed! Again, if I could give MORE than 5 stars, I would! I have been around sports cards my entire life. Dealt with many buyers and sellers. This place is awesome when it comes to customer service and is insane it will take you all day to see all the memorabilia in the store. The owner and his son are both great guys and talked to me about anything I had questions about. I drove about 2 hours from RI to get here and I couldn't believe my eyes! I can say their customer service is top-notch because my daughter was looking for a certain autograph and they had one but not the exact one. When she decided that she was looking for something more specific they took care of me with no issues. I would recommend these guys to any sports collectors. Prices are great too! The pros: there is a TON of sports memorabilia in this place. Helmets, bats, balls, pucks, sticks, tickets, framed pictures, and so many other things you didn't even know you needed. The staff seemed friendly and asked if we were looking for anything in particular. The cons: Bluntly, this place is a mess. It feels like a flea market or a sports fanatic garage sale. Stacks of random things all over the place and a lot of it without prices marked. They simply have too much inventory for the space and it is not organized particularly well. In my opinion Sportsworld is one of the best Sports Card and Memorabilia hobby shops on the North Shore/Greater Boston area. They have an excellent selection of hobby boxes, jumbo boxes, and retail from current years and past years as well. Especially for baseball cards, they actually have packs for sale of products that are typically only available in boxes, like 2022 Bowman baseball. They also have a ton of individual cards (game used material, autographs, numbered cards, short prints) and full sets from past years going way back. I saw some really interesting high value graded cards as well, like the 2011 Mike Trout Topps Update RC and 2019 Bowman Prospect Wander Franco autograph. Tons and tons of autographed sports memorabilia I've never seen elsewhere from Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots stars and more obscure players as well. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area, looking to pick up a gift or add to your man cave or collection. Let's start off with the positive. The store pretty much has anything you'll need as far as Sports Memorabilia. Great selection of autographed items, heavily focused on the Boston sports teams good selection of supplies, wide variety of unopened, product and singles. The mediocre is the staff the second you walk in the store they are up your butt but that's ok, better than ignoring you. Here are the two negatives first off the place is a mess. It's hard to move around there a random boxes blocking some really nice stuff and it looks like you have a hard time really finding anything that wasn't immediately visible, but looks like the owner is propped up on a stool with a whole bunch of crap sitting around him as well, here's the really bad the prices, it is very hard for me to walk out of the store without spending money. The price is the store was asking for even current stuff was so far above retail. It was a joke everything was 10 to 20% higher than the going rate at a minimum sum even more than that, if this review was based on pricing alone and because you're a star because honestly, some of these prices were so high, it was insulting. The reason I gave three stars is the selection and availability that has to count for something. But man the store was really expensive. Basically if you need it, they got it but you're gonna pay for it a lot more than you pay in most places. Store that's asking that much for product. It would at least be presentable. There was a lot of staff just standing around arguing about things in general. Maybe a few of them could have cleaned up a little. Did I mention this place is really expensive? read more

In collectibles, trust is the #1 priority. You don't need to look much further than the incredible list of athletes that work with owner Phil Castinetti to sell their memorabilia to know that he is doing something right, and he is selling the real goods. And having bought from Phil for years, I trust him wholeheartedly with helping me build a collection. The breadth of his selection is remarkable, and his quality control of weeding out fakes is invaluable. I was surprised the Yelp rating wasn't spotless, so I took a look, and it's worth noting that almost all of the negative reviews are from people that never did business with SportsWorld. Looks like they planned to host a signing in 2017 with someone that was controversial (I've never heard of the guy). Phil cancelled the event (https://sportsworld-usa.com/lilo-brancato-autograph-show-nov-12-2017/), but of course, the trigger happy reviewers never bothered to take down their one-star ratings. Take all that for what you will - feel free to buy an autograph off eBay with a shoddy certification, but I would say you're much better off at SportsWorld, and those 1-star reviews are useless. Regardless, Phil is still the #1 dealer of memorabilia in New England. I highly recommend any sports fan take a look inside and not be tempted by something remarkable to put on their wall. read more

Sportsworld is one of the best card shops/memorabilia stores I have ever been too. From floor to ceiling their store is jam packed with autographs, game used memorabilia, sports cards and unique items you can't find other places. As soon as I opened the door to the store I felt like I was a kid again with everything to look at and explore. Never again. First he will tell you your item is worth nothing. Then he will offer for you to leave it on consignment at a minimum price that you want. He won't bother contacting you once he sells it then he'll tell you he sold at for less of your asking price and still try to charge you 20% fee on top of that and your items gone you can't even get it back. read more
