So great to see such a fabulous new place for all your nerd needs! Go check out Paper Asylum!

Paper Asylum is a mecca for anyone who has a fandom they love. The people who own it are giant geeks so they understand. You can find everything from the latest comics to collectibles or fun gifts. Conveniently located in Beverly, MA, this shop should definitely be a stop when you're visiting Salem to cosplay or take cosplay photos. I highly recommend this shop and all of it's content.

I'm brand new at gaming although I'm considered "elderly". Staff was friendly and helpful, even excited that I was starting out!

Step inside this comic store & prepare to have your mind blown! It's like a secret treasure vault…read morefor collectors so many unique goodies tucked into every nook & cranny. The glass fixtures throughout the whole store are packed w/ collectibles that are so unique & rare! It honestly feels like wandering through a museum where everything is cooler than the last. There's 2 floors of pure awesomeness (w/ no shortage of things to admire)! From rare comics to jaw-dropping action figures, every corner has a WOW moment. It's the kind of place where you want to take your time & stare at every display. If you love comics, collectibles, or just stuff that makes your inner nerd scream w/ joy, this store is an absolutely must see! Pricing went up from the last time I was here but honestly what hasn't. Prepare to spend a good amount of bucks b/c once you see everything it's hard to leave empty-handed. Visiting here has officially become a tradition for me every year when I'm in Salem & I def can't wait to go back!

Silver Moon Comics is basically what happens when Walmart action figures put on a horror mask and…read moremove to Salem. The walls are crammed with figurines, masks, and memorabilia--some genuinely cool, some you could find online for half the price if you can spell "Amazon." But hey, Salem tax is real, and apparently nostalgia comes with a surcharge. The store itself is brightly lit, which sort of kills the "spooky collectible" vibe and makes it feel more like you're shopping in a dentist's waiting room with masks on the wall. Window displays draw you in, but once inside it's a quick lap and you're done. Definitely not a place you'll get lost digging through hidden treasures--unless you consider Funko Pops a rare find. The staff? Friendly, technically. If they talk to you at all. Some days you'll get a warm hello, other days you'll wonder if you accidentally broke into the store after hours. Overall: it's fine. Quick in, quick out, nothing offensive but nothing remarkable. Three stars for existing, charging too much, and reminding me that in Salem, even plastic monsters cost a premium.

On every vacation we go to, we always aim to head to local toy shops. So running into this joint…read morethis afternoon in Salem was a dream come true. Walking in, you are bombarded with every toy, comic and collectable imaginable. I was ready to find anything that I can add my to husband's collection. My husband is an avid collector of Transformers. Especially anything that's a Decepticon. I found the display of Blokees. Blokees does an amazing job with their Transformers collection. But my husband has completed a majority of the collections. But I did see Tarn and didn't know if he had it so I grabbed it just in case. I then made my way to some comics right by the Blokees. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything Transformers related. So when this sweet associate was walking past me, I pepped up real quick and asked her. She navigated me to the other side of the store. That's where all the magic was. Figurines, comics and Funko Pops. I weaved through 4 different collections of Transformers Comics and found a couple gems. I'm so excited that all 6 of the comics I got had Decepticons on the covers of them. 5 were Soundwave, my husband's favorite character. They were perfectly packaged with a hard backing to help maintain the integrity of the comic. I checked out with the sweetest employees. They were all so kind and helpful! I did end up not purchasing Tarn since my husband already had it. No pressure about not getting it and the associates were kind and put it away for me. This toy store exceeded my expectations. The employees are so kind. It literally has everything you can think of under one roof. A collectors dream come true. I'm so happy we ran into this toy store! I am excited that I found some treasures for my husband. If only all toy stores could be like this one. I'm sad that my husband couldn't experience this store with me. But if we ever come back to Salem, we will be heading to this store first.

It was hard maneuvering around with a backpack on and my litle Grim Reaper's scythe. A lot was going on here. My son was obsessed with getting his first comic. Since he is 5, we found a $1 section that suited him just right and we walked out with a Batman comic book for him. Lots to choose from but some items carried a lot of dust!

I come here once a week to expand my comic collection with a $10-20 dollar purchase, and when I have some spare change or they get more inventory I'm happy to spend hundreds across unique/rare back issues, action figures and graphic novels. The only thing about this store that is not PERFECT is in that they do not carry a huge inventory of new releases, and that should warrant a star deducted, but they do such an incredible job across every other facet of the business that I cannot complain. Some of the staff noted me as a regular and have been super friendly in informing me of upcoming sales and events at the store - I just love it all. GREAT spot.

The comic selection is pretty great like there's tons here that you could look for hours and there's also so many other things collectibles to find here So ends the good When I say this place is overpriced I'm not saying by a small amount this place is crazy OVERPRICED asking upwards of 10-15 dollars for non key Batman legends of the dark knight books even tho you can get almost the whole run for 2 dollars a book. The condition of the priced books is also Horrendous! 20$ keys were COVERED in spine ticks but had 60$ price tags on them "uncanny x men 138" for 60 dollars when it has more ticks than a stray dog is highway robbery Lastly they have a HUGE sign outside that clearly states "we buy sell trade comics, games, cards" yet when I asked the guy if he was interested in looked at the books I brought he said "sorry our guy only does business online". So put that on your sign then Just stay away from this place it puts scalpers to shame with its prices of beat up comics

Loved everything about this store!! My kind of place and sad I haven't know about it sooner! First…read morethoughts I had was everyone should be shopping here when buying gifts, especially for kids! Endless amount of comics, old & new. I found an issue of a comic I've been collecting for many years so was very excited to add it! Plus the re-release of it! So excited to read. If I had kids this is where I would be choosing for them to get their books. Plenty of CD's, DVDs and Rock and Roll vinyls I purchased upstairs, the guy behind the counter was so nice and talking to other locals with kids digging through the 10/$1 pokemon card bins. Was so friendly with me and informative. Was happy with what I paid. Went downstairs and browsed through the toys, I wasn't to afford a toy I wanted this time around but hoping when I come back I can! I also had a feeling I would find this figurine I missed out many years ago and beat myself up for constantly. Didn't find it this time around but when I go back if it's not so busy I will ask if they've seen. Downside is I had to drive around looking for some street parking since they don't have a lot. It was a busy Saturday, but finally found one. Also the aisles are a little tight, there were some times I felt trapped or couldn't get by people. But they're doing the best they can with the layout!

This store is such a hidden gem. We spent over 2 hrs here looking at everything. There are 2…read morefloors. The upstairs has the comics and the basement has the toys.
