My wife heard about Steel Penny Cafe from a colleague at work who lives in Hatboro, so we decided…read moreto check it out on Thursday, February 12, 2026. We are glad we did. From the street it has a really cool look and the inside leans into an industrial style with a great aesthetic. It's a comfortable space with a nice vibe. We ordered a couple of cocktails: a lemon drop and a Manhattan. Strategically we decided to split a Detroit-style pizza called the Iron Pig. Good call because one square was the perfect amount for dinner. And now we have a few meals to heat up for the next few days. The drinks were excellent and the pizza was outstanding. Great flavor. Our server Ally was welcoming and friendly and top notch on service. It is the middle of winter so we weren't considering outside dining, but they have a great outdoor space near the street. Looks like a fun place to hang out. It's definitely a place we'd consider visiting again.

They don't have server tunnel vision, they work as a team and it shows! The vibes are so cool here. I mean, if you're gonna open a cafe next to a scrap yard, you have to lean in to the theming. I love the vibes, I love the appearance. The food is amazing top to bottom. First, their coffee drinks are always spot hitting, partly due to the fact that they roast their own coffee beans on site. The cocktail menu is always enticing an even though I'm not a huge drinker, I'll be working my way around this. The breakfast options are plenty and if you don't get their bacon you are missing out! The lunch sandwiches are served on a house made ciabatta style bread. Packed with fresh meats, cheeses and veggies. Every ingredient is perfectly seasoned and added delicately, not just items slapped on a roll. The Detroit pizza is what initially drew me in. While they have some options with more toppings, I'd say go for some of the more simple Detroit pies to really allow the famous crust to really shine through. My personal favorite so far is the white pie they do with roasted portobello mushrooms. I have only been for breakfast and lunch but with all the craft beer options I need to go back for dinner to sit and relax with some friends and family!

Stopped by this cozy spot in downtown Hatboro for a Friday evening dinner with the family, and we…read moreleft full and happy. I ordered a personal pizza with broccoli and spinach--though it was accidentally made into a white pizza, the staff was happy to bring some sauce on the side, which ended up working out perfectly. The crust was remarkable--crispy with just the right chew--and the sauce paired wonderfully with the cheese and veggies. My two older boys got the so-called "bucket of spaghetti," which, to their mild dismay, was not served in an actual bucket. (They had hopes.) Still, they devoured it and gave it two saucy thumbs up. My wife had the veggie Parmesan and found it flavorful and satisfying. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout, which added to the positive experience. The dining area is on the smaller side, so I wouldn't recommend it for large groups unless you call ahead. The only real downside is parking--being downtown, it's mostly street parking, which could be a hassle during peak times. That said, the food more than makes up for the minor inconveniences. Definitely worth a second visit next time we're in town!

Was excited to try this pizza place as they have some unique menu offerings, Indian pizza and…read moresandwiches. Ordered paneer tikka masala pizza. Pizza was very doughy and undercooked. There was an undercooked layer under the toppings and pizza floppy. Very strong masala flavor, which is fine but had expected more of a tikka masala saucy vibe. It was given more of a dry masala pizza. Toppings were so heavy they were falling off the pie. Too many onions and peppers.

I placed an online order of a small cheese pizza, fried mozzarella and a chocolate milkshake. The food was all ready when I got there and they put the milkshake in the freezer, so it was nice and cold. The cheese pizza was really good! It definitely has a doughier crust, but it is not too doughy, and really I liked the flavor and bite. The ratio of cheese to tomato sauce was good - both tasted nice and fresh. The chocolate milkshake tasted a bit like it was made with European milk chocolate, or something like a Crunch bar, which was definitely a twist to a Chocolate milkshake. Despite that, the consistency was pretty good and if you like that type of chocolate, you will enjoy this milkshake. The lady at the front of the store was really nice and got everything I ordered served to my quickly. A man working there also held the door for me, which was nice. They have slices in the case and a small space with some casual seating, as well. Altogether, I really enjoyed the food and service at Main Street Pizzeria and Grille! I plan to stop by at some in the near future!
