Drinks were fast to arrive, but the food was was extremely slow given it was just chips and dips. It turns out they were frying a fresh batch of chips which were superb. Chips were hot and crispy, guacamole was fresh and creamy and the queso was standard but yummy because I Love Queso. Their dark, rich roasty salsa was especially delicious, so I took a closeup so you could literally see the flavor. I could drink this salsa! We gorged ourselves on chips while trying to decide if the food was good enough to order a meal here. It was. Our server was a chill and accommodating young man, happy to talk through all the gluten free options on the menu with me. He had a couple of other large tables and still had time to chat and help me decide. An excess of coleslaw had to be removed, it was wet and heavy but not bad in flavor just too much. But they were yummy! Our friendly server put in our second drink order at some point and I forget exactly what happened after that but I had a lovely conversation with some other ladies on the patio. When the bill came, we were surprised to see the happy hour discount applied to the quesadilla and the fish tacos, but not the chips and three dips. Also the pricing on the restaurant menu was different than the website menu, and all of that was different than what we were actually charged. Our server explained that the trio was already such a bargain that the discount didn't apply. I find that to be pretty deceptive. They were just the right amount and just the right level of spice. The salad was a salad. The tuna melt tasted like straight pickle juice. We're kind of snobby about our beer and every. single. beer is solid. I might not like reds that much but this is one that I'd actually drink. The Hefe is solid and delicious without the weird aftertaste and off flavors that 95% of them have. Just a clean, refreshing hefe. The DIPA is delicious and one of my faves. I still stand by that the IPAs here will stand up to any others we have around town and we have some good oens. We stopped in to watch football for a bit and the screens were plentiful, there was lots to do including darts, shuffleboard, and nearly every single game on at once. They've done a lot to the place and I really hope it sticks around - we need a place like this! Beers are super reasonably priced and they have a daily happy hour (including an all day happy hour on Monday!). This is a chill, cool place with lots of seating, lots of parking and ample food options around.
