My family decided to try this place on a Monday afternoon, since it's closer to the 99 Ranch Market. The owner served each of us a hot cup of Barley Tea and a complimentary Banchan. We ordered Vegetable Pancake, Japchae, and Bibimbap with beef. I lost my appetite halfway through my meal. * Banchan- the pickled cucumber slices were served yellow (not fresh), the kimchi was salty, the soy sauce potatoes were sweet, and the pickled daikons were sour. The palette was all over the place. * Vegetable Pancake- too salty without dipping the sauce, and too loose when I picked it up with my chopsticks. Generous vegetables inside. * Japchae- there was no shiitake mushroom and spinach like the traditional version, a lot of black pepper, and it was salty too. * Bibimbap- the menu said it had purple rice, instead I was served white rice with white lies; not so much beef, one shitake mushroom was half raw, yet the vegetables were fresh. I was jealous when I saw a table next to us that served a bowl of purple rice and two trays of Banchan. I wanted that purple rice when I realized later it was for customers who ordered the soups and stews. They should have corrected the Bibimbap ingredients with "white rice," rather than stating "Purple Rice" on their menu. The owner was nice and was only in charge of serving everything. The restaurant was clean. They should've trained the cooks more or hired someone else with real Korean culinary experience. It's turning into food court quality rather than a restaurant itself.
What in the world? I paid almost $25 for this tiny piece of food? NOT WORTH. Never coming back here. Also got the beef bone soup which was mostly noodles and tiny pieces of meat.
Came here for dinner on a Tuesday around 8 PM. The place was almost empty, with just one other table occupied. The server welcomed us warmly and told us to sit wherever we liked. He brought over water and cutlery right away. After a bit, he came to take our order. We got the vegetable soft tofu stew and the bibimbap with spicy tofu. He confirmed we were vegetarian and asked if eggs were okay, and also took the time to explain which banchan items contained fish sauce--which we really appreciated. The food arrived quickly, and the portions were generous. Everything stayed hot until the end and was full of flavor. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back.
Spoon was a good experience! The food was good and the atmosphere was inviting. The parking lot was pretty crowded, just park near the end and just walk. I just got the soup with chicken. I think the bonchon and the portions are just enough. It was good. I would come here again.

Parking is a bit tricky b/c the parking lot is generally pretty full but if you're willing & able to walk a few rows, it isn't bad. The veggie pancakes were amazing - super crispy & flavorful. There were also a lot of options with the banchan (9). The portions were big & very filling & generally tasty. Unfortunately, the spicy pork & the crispy dumplings from the combo plate were pretty dry. I think the owner works there & she's was really sweet. She was attentive & very quick with everything. Overall, I'd come back to try more items on the menu.

Met up with a friend for dinner as it was a convenient halfway point between us. The plaza is big and has lots of parking. We were seated quickly for an early 5pm dinner. The service was very friendly and nice. They checked on us often but not too much. All the food was good! There was a variety of side dishes! We got the bibimbap in the stone pot and galbi plate. Both well made classic dishes.
Solid portions and fair pricing for your Korean food fix! Quality and taste was standard - nothing spectacular nor out of the ordinary. This is a solid lunch spot if I'm craving something hot, yummy, and filling. 4/5!
I never leave disappointed whenever I go to Spoon! I've been here a few times and have tried some other dishes, but the tonkatsu is a must everytime! Some other dishes I've tried are stir fry octopus, short rib soup, and tteokbokki. All are decent but the tonkatsu is definitely the best. The perfect flavor and crisp. Whether you get the regular or cheese tonkatsu, you won't be disappointed. I've gotten it to go/delivered a few times as well and it was still nice and crispy!

The food is delicious here! My favorite Korean spot in Fremont. The server is super nice and the service was quick. I ordered the Hot Stone Bibimbap with beef + kimichi fried rice and the Seafood Pancakes. Both are 10/10! The inside is comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.
This is the best hidden gem in fremont! They have weekday specials that are amazingly priced. They also have the best banchan (little dishes like kimchi, tofu, daikon) to go with your meal. Everything we've tried has been amazing! We typically come on Tuesday or Thursday since they have specials on their soft tofu. Must try if you're in the hood!
Quick To Go Order! I've been in the plaza so many times and I kept seeing this small Korean restaurant but never had the time to try it. I was in the area and had some time before heading home and decided to go in for a To Go order. I was there at a weird time (around 4:00 pm on a Tuesday) so I didn't expect it to be busy. There was a nice lady prepping some utensils and I let her know I would like to place a To Go order. I went up to the register where she gave me a menu to look at. There's so many options here and one that caught my eye was a SMALL SIZED GALBIJJIM! Most places only have a large sized Galbijjim and it's expensive but it's VERY AFFORDABLE HERE! And I really appreciated that they have 2 sizes. I ordered a Small Spicy Galbijjim, the Spam Mayo Rice, and a Galbi Short Rib. My total was around $80 but I think that's a good price for the amount of food I got! I liked that the Spam Mayo Rice was simple and yet really satisfying! I think there was some type of teriyaki sauce under all the rice and it was really good. The short ribs were very good too! Marinated perfectly and the portion was a good amount. Spicy Galbijjim was good, but I feel like it was lacking flavor? I'm not too sure what is used to make Galbijjim sauce, but compared to other places, it was missing something here. Just not sure what. I didn't wait that long for my food. I think it was only 15 minutes? I would definitely come back here and flbring family with me!

Amazing bibimbap and banchan! The bibimbap is always hot and fresh, no matter which type of meat selected. The servers are also kind. I got the spicy beef stew recently and it had so much egg that it overpowered all other flavors. The restaurant is on the smaller side but with lots of seating, including booths along the walls. There is a bathroom for customers. read more
The person that took my order was totally cool. He understood that I was very hungry but warned me that the Korean army stew was meant for 2-4 people. I was just one hungry individual ready to eat. He was right. I was struggling to finish all of it. I'm glad it was too much food. Most other places don't give you enough. read more

I love their galbi bbq and tofu soup and bibimbap kimchi. Though their seafood pancake is super thick and soggy. Purple rice is soggy as well. I hope they can revisit their food items and improve it. Staff are friendly. read more
It's a cute little Korean restaurant near ranch 99 with canvases about interesting beers and the food they have on the wall. Came here during lunch on a weekday with some coworkers to celebrate their bday. It's not too loud so you can still hold a conversation. We got seated almost immediately but we had to wait almost 20-30 mins after we ordered to receive our food. Not the best if you have a short lunch time. Some groups that got sat after us received their food before us but I'm assuming it's because we had a slightly larger group and they wanted to serve us all at the same time. The food itself was decent, I got the spicy ramen level 3 with cheese, fishcake and pork belly. It wasn't that spicy but it was a big portion. We also tried their sweet potato tonkotsu which was really good but I wished it had more sweet potatoes distributed evenly. Bonus: if you check in on Yelp, they also give you a free drink of your choice! read more

Came here during lunch, since it was next to my office. I got the short rib and tofu soup combo! I was surprised how they have the korean purple rice, which I've only had in korea! The wait was not that long either, and the staff was really accommodating. While the inside is not as big as the other Korean places around, it's very clean and organized. I definitely recommend! read more
Came in with no wait but it quickly got busy. Ordered several different plates to share everything and it was all dedelicious. Despite it getting busier, service was still excellent and of course food was delicious. Would come back here again in a heartbeat read more

This place gets so popular quickly and I can tell you why. I have heard raves about Spoon and had to try it. Their prices are reasonable especially their daily lunch specials. I opted for the pork belly bibimbap and it was delicious. There's purple rice on the bottom and the veggies are all pickled with sesame flavor. Nothing felt too vinegary which is hard to find! The food felt fresh and tasty and the portion was large. The food came shortly after ordering with the banchan. I really liked the fish cake and could have had a second order. The one waitress was nice. Will definitely be back again! read more

We are regular customers of Spoon but in my most recent visit, I discovered something odd, which is that the receipt already has their 18% service charges included in the original total and in the receipt for signing there are additional tips boxes to trick those who don't check receipts or the totals. So I originally checked the tip box but later realized there was already a service charge to the total. I could have paid 33% tips altogether if I didn't check again. Nothing about their food or service, i just thought this is a bit sneaky and didn't appreciate the practice. read more
First time to visit this restaurant Ordered vegi cake , rib and tofu for lunch The vegi pancake was pretty good , crispy . The bbq short rib was average , and $32 only has small portion . The soft tofu stew was below average . If you are the one who enjoy the korean side dishes , this restaurent may not be your choice . MENU AND FOOD: Spoon Korean Bistro serves up a variety of tofu soups, bbq meats, ramen and other Korean favorites. SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE: Service was inattentive and slow. Their indoor decor is appropriate and appealing. They have indoor seating only. PARKING: Located in a plaza, they have a parking lot. IMPRESSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS: We had their ramen with medium spice and added rice cakes and pork belly, which was subpar and lacked expected flavor, along with their bbq spicy pork, which was pretty ok. Our server said they only had mixed rice, but then offered other tables a choice between white and mixed. Ultimately, our food took upwards of 30 minutes to arrive without acknowledgement, which was a bit frustrating. read more

I like the lunch offerings in this restaurant. They have decent lunch combo plates and I really like that they offer smaller (single portion) size Galbi Jjim. Most places that have this dish on their menu charge $65 and up since it's usually served as a bigger portion. I'm so glad I was able to try their version of this dish without breaking the bank. They have all the dishes you expect at a Korean restaurant. Banchan is standard. My favorite of the banchan they gave me was the Cheonsachae salad. Interior is simple. Kind of reminds me of a mom and pop's restaurant. Sweet lady serving food. Located in a plaza with other businesses so there is a shared parking lot. read more

If you love big portions and decent Korean food, this place is not too shabby. They have a big variety on their menu, from jeon to soup to tonkatsu! The vibes inside are very casual. This is definitely a popular spot for takeout. They give side dishes with your meal too! I got the Dumpling Rice Cake Soup, which was very hearty. The broth tasted like it was chicken-based. Somewhat like a wonton soup. The quality was just okay. They are generous with the portions! This soup was HUGE!! The beef inside the soup was not very good quality though. We also got a Kimchi Pancake and this was SO MUCH! More than enough for a table to share. It was crispy, spicy, thick, and very flavorful. read more
It's a cozy place that fits enough people if you have a big group. I went on a weekday for dinner and the place was starting to fill in. As for the service, there was only one server but the wait wasn't too long to order food. As for the food, we got kimchi pancakes as an appetizer and I got the combo plate with spicy chicken, salad and wonton. There are also side dishes too that had broccoli, kimchi, radish, dish cake and bean sprouts. The kimchi pancakes were my favorite as it was crunchy and also veryyyy savory. My combo plate was filling and the chicken was definitely spicy for me even though i asked for mild. Definitely a good price if you are looking for a filling dinner! read more
Spoon Korean Bistro is conveniently located in the Warm Springs Plaza, at the corner of Mission and Warm Springs in Fremont. I came here for lunch with some friends on 08/23/2022. Our group of seven walked in at around 11:45 am and were immediately greeted by the staff. Although the interior was small, they were able to seat us together. Menus were already on the table and water was brought to us quickly. For starters, we ordered two types of chicken wings to share (Hot and Spicy Buffalo and Garlic & Chili). They were both delicious. Spiciness wasn't overwhelming. For entrée, I got the dolsot bibimbap with bulgogi ($15). I loved that they give you the option of either purple or white rice. It took about 15 minutes for it to be ready and came out sizzling hot. Everything was flavorful and tasty. The bottom layer of crispy rice was very enjoyable. A trio of banchans was served with the meal (broccoli florets, fish cake, and kimchi). They were average at best. Service was good. The staff was friendly and responded to our requests swiftly. Overall, this is a solid Korean spot that offers tasty food and good service. Check them out if you haven't done so already. 4 stars. Food was decent. I always love a hot stone bibimbap and i like that they let you choose between the purple and white rice. Unfortunately it wasn't particularly flavorful. I got the beef and it was seasoned well but the dish overall was definitely lacking. The free bonchon they give was delicious. Service was good, we came in for lunch on a week day with a group of 10. It's a relatively small place but they were able to accommodate us which was awesome. It was also surprisingly fast for being such a large group. I'd come back because of the convenience, but it's not on the top of my list from a flavor point of view. read more

It is same coporation but we do have different management on every other restaurants under this name. Basaically menu could be bit different depends on who we are targetting.
