It was my first time at Spoon and Fork Plus. We went on Wednesday during the holidays (Jan 2) and it wasn't busy at all. The restaurant was bring, lots of windows, standard seating (tables were close to one another), bathrooms were single-stalled and didn't differentiate between men and women, there IS a change table so that's a plus for me. The ordering system is old fashioned - waiter takes your order, no iPad. Drinks, including hot tea, is extra so be sure to ask before you order. We tried some of everything and the items came out hot and crispy and correctly (as per our order). My favourites were the calamari (it was pieces of squid and not the rubbery rings), lemongrass soup, sashimi (yes! They have sashimi at lunch!!) and chicken and beef satay skewers with peanut sauce (meat were juicy and tender). The Bangkok pad thai was yummy too, though there was only 1 piece of chicken. My hubby and I aren't a fan of their rolls as the ratio of rice to fillings favoured the rice. They only had soft serve ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, twist - it was too sweet and too runny) and mango pudding (my daughter didn't like that at all, the consistently was way too thick). Spoon and Fork Plus is better than most AYCE places in Mississauga/Oakville, but there are better ones out there! See photo for the lunch prices.

Great selections of items with mixture of Japanese, Thai and some Italians. Great service and attentive. Our favourite AYCE in Oakville!

Normally Spoon and fork has been a great experience for my family. I can't really say the same for today's experience. We started our meal off with a bit of a scare as we thought the bug crawling across the floor was a cockroach. Turns out it was just a cricket (minor details), and after the wait staff saw me looking at it they promptly got rid of it. Moving forward, we came here for my moms birthday which was well known by all. There was no mention of this by any of our waitstaff however. The only reason we came to the Oakville location is because it is a spoon and fork PLUS. Which normally means they serve gnocchi and other kinds of Italian pastas. Upon looking at the menu we realized they had removed almost all of these options and they were now basically just a regular spoon and fork which is irritating as they advertise themselves as being more than this. And if you were wondering there gnocchi was delicious but it has been axed from the menu. The food came quite promptly and for the most part was pretty good, especially at the beginning of the meal. As we continued however the quality started to decrease. It started with the sesame chicken which was horrendous. The chicken was hard and crispy with the most strong godawful sauce I've ever tasted. It was like an overload of soy sauce and not even the over salted chicken fried rice could remove this flavour out of your mouth. Then came the chicken soaked in peanut sauce.... I don't know where that came from but again, disgusting. Finally to top it off our late order of shrimp pad Thai and veggie pad Thai came. Both had undercooked noodles that were almost impossible to even break off after biting. The shrimp pad Thai was so drenched in sauce though you could see a dramatic colour change and it coated your mouth with an over powering flavour. To end on a positive note the fried calamari was very tasty like always and we were all stuffed. However, we will not be venturing back out to the Oakville location again, sorry folks!

What a great idea, Asian, Italian, and American food all on one menu! Satisfies the most picky of couples who can't agree on a specific cuisine for dinner. Nice decor. Not too busy on a Tuesday night. Tablecloths with white paper on top and linen napkins. How civilized! You order apps first and then place the next order. We ordered wonton soup, crispy beef, spring rolls, and grilled calamari for starters. Salmon sashimi, spicy tuna roll and hand roll for next round. Shrimp pad Thai, mixed veggies, and sweet and sour pork were next. Finished with deep fried Brie (not on menu but was recommended to us), pineapple fried rice (had raisins for some weird reason), and Thai basil fish that was quite good. Yes we are stuffed!! Portions were small but a good size to allow you to try different dishes. Service was really attentive and prompt. I wish all restaurants had this kind of service! Be warned that the desserts cost extra! Definitely worth a return trip!

Love all the Spoon and Fork Restaurants and this is no exception! Service was excellent - fast, efficient and attentive. Even on a busy Friday night! We tried the AYCE menu because we wanted to try a lot of dishes and the portions were perfect for that. Sashimi and maki rolls, seafood salad, Singapore noodles, Thai spicy eggplant, Thai basil tilapia, grilled calamari, escargot, BBQ beef short ribs. All very good. Also tried the scallops neptune, seafood casserole and curry chicken. Good but not really notable. Overall, great meal. Very tasteful decor. Excellent service.

We used to love coming here until they recently changed some of their menu selections and even removed the 'plus' options.

My friend and I have been planning to meet up for a while. Our schedules and her moving to Hamilton…read morethis summer had delayed our plan, but we got it together last Saturday. For years, I lived the furthest from the office in our department. Well, that title has been bequeathed to my friend, who lives 60 km from the office. Luckily, we don't need to commute for the rest of 2020 due to the pandemic. If it were a contest, I'd move further east to win... haha! We both love Thai food. I looked at my Yelp bookmarks and suggested that we do takeout from Funky Thai. She liked the name and said, "Let's get funky!" Our plan was to find a park to chat and chow down. She was game. She got to the restaurant a couple of minutes before I did and texted me. I saw the Econo gas station and my eyes immediately looked at all the red signage that Funky Thai had. It's in a completely nondescript corner. I pulled in. There is a patch of road that is gravel. So, if you're turning in too fast, I can predict wiping out when it's slick. I backed into a parking spot next to my friend's car. To see her huge smile again was wonderful. I haven't seen her since I was last in the office back in early March! We walked into the restaurant. It is takeout only. Tables strategically placed next to one another provide a fort-like structure. The woman came over. She was nice. We saw the menu posted on the side. I went with curry pad thai with chicken. You can also do a mix of chicken and beef, and other protein combos for an extra charge. She asked whether I had any allergies, as chopped peanuts go on top of the pad thai. Nope, I was good. This combo came with an appetizer. I chose the veggie spring roll, as did my friend. I asked the woman whether she had any canned drinks. Her response? "Go to the gas station. It's cheaper. It's $1.75 here." Wow! Talk about being honest and promoting Econo Gas. My friend got the pineapple cashew nut fried rice with chicken and beef. It sounded good. Considering that we both did a mini road trip to Oakville, we both needed to use the washroom. You can only use it only if you're a customer. We asked if we could. The woman first went to the washroom to check. She then came back and moved one of the Tetris-like tables away so that my friend could walk over there. Once she came back, it was my turn. The washroom was clean and spacious. My food was ready pretty fast. My friend's took a bit longer. Still, it was fast considering that we were the only folks there. While I was in the washroom, my friend asked the nice woman where we could go to eat lunch. She recommended going down to the waterfront. She said that there were many parks. Nice! We chose Bronte Beach Park and drove over there. Once we found a vacant park bench, we had our late lunch. My friend confessed that she ate her veggie spring roll driving over to the park. I knew that it was yummy just from that admission. The veggie spring roll is amazing. It is jammed full of veggies and glass noodles. It was large, crunchy, and so go with the sweet and sour dipping sauce. I'd come back just for the spring roll alone. My curry pad thai was nicely packed. It looked pretty. It tasted yummy. The noodles were perfect. The curry wasn't spicy. I went with mild, but I would do medium next time. The chicken was white meat, which was tender and yummy. I also got tofu, which was an added bonus. The veggies were delicious. I ate the whole thing. I didn't have a chance to take a photo of my friend's pineapple fried rice. She plowed into it, as she was hungry. It looked amazing. She loved it. I need to order some when I'm in the neighbourhood again. This Thai restaurant also offers Vietnamese food fare. I'd love to try some in future. We both paid using debit. The woman brings the machine to you. This eatery is in such an odd location, but it's definitely worth visiting if you're in Oakville. The service is quick and efficient. I had a great experience. So a neighbor of ours highly recommend us to try this Thai restaurant, I was very skeptical since the reviews were pretty low.None the less I did give it a shot today and was pleasantly surprised and happy with the interior, service and food. So I came here right after my doctors appointment and decided to get a couple of entrees to try out.I opted to stick with the lunch menu.My order was a spicy Thai basil chicken and glass noodles with vegetables and chicken.Every lunch special comes with a soup or spring roll, I got one of each. The spring roll were absolutely divine much bigger and stuffed well compared to many other Thai restaurant. The hot and sour soup was pretty standard. The main entrees came out within 10-12 minutes after ordering. Both the dishes were so so flavorful and the portions were generous.I also felt that they don't skimp on their meat. Both my entrees were loaded with meat. I ate as much as I could and took the remaining home for dinner. My server was this middle aged gentleman, he was fast and kept checking on me.He also packed my leftovers which I thought was super nice. The place itself is very clean and definitely not that bad as it may look from outside.I highly recommend going here for lunch special and more. I do look forward to coming here again to try out some more dishes with my family.

The rice was slightly undercooked over oiled and flavorless . The shrimp were fresh but had more skin on than I preferred and not much seasoning to it. I was disappointed for my fried rice standards. On the other hand, the fresh veggie rolls were fantastic flavorful like Fourth of July in my mouth. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because the fried rice was made very last minute because they kind of screwed up my order a little bit so I'm letting them slide, but I'm sure the rest of the food is delicious.

We loved the appetizers; they were fresh and tasty. For main, we ordered "Yellow Pineapple Curry with Chicken", "Golden Pad Thai with Shrimp" and "Pineapple Fried Rice with Beef".
