Their chocolate fudge cake was great, I also tried their butter cream cake, which was just ok.

They are getting the second star strictly off of delivering a quality cake last year for my daughters 1st birthday. This year, it was almost criminal how they over charged us and the quality was pretty bad. We ordered a cake for 8 people and the cost was $82. Again, since they did such a good job for our babies first bday we went along with it. When we saw the receipt, they charged us $35 to add "bananas" to the design!! This is straight up robbery! We should take this up w Millburn Police over Yelp! Again, if the cake was delicious I would've let it go but it was dry and pretty bland. Never again! Make sure you get a breakdown of your estimate before ordering if your going to do anything custom.

Great customer service!! I was leaving the park because it was getting cold. I decided to get some hot chocolate. Walked across the street and right into Splurge. The pink exterior called me in. They don't have hot chocolate, but since there was a kids party going on, and they had a hot chocolate bar the nice guy behind the counter offered me some. So kind! Based just off that, I had to try some of their baked goods. Lots of cookie bars and cake pops. Beautiful tiered cakes. St. Patrick's Day cookies and other themes. He said the carrot cake with cream cheese icing is great. And It was good! It's gone. So happy I popped in.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! The cake they made was 20/10 it was pure deliciousness and was on point on what daughter wanted for her birthday celebration. So much love and attention went into it from the owner to the staff. The cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries were just heavenly. Thank you Julie, Rebecca and the whole team for the attention to detail.

As I'm visiting my g/f's beach house I thought I'd bring her a special cookie! She's over the moon!

How have I not reviewed Splurge? They're my go to spot for fun gifts-send them an image and they'll reproduce it on a giant cookie for a great price. Pics of a loved one, or a building, or even a beach badge! And if my kids were young they'd be taking baking classes here as well. Fun place, delicious sweets.

My niece was very specific when talking about her princess birthday cake. This bakery did an amazing job making her vision come to life at just 4 years old The design and execution was perfect. These cakes are never the most tasteful, I think the artwork is what makes them special and we had a very happy birthday girl

I stopped into Splurge yesterday. My husband and I had just gotten the envelope with the gender of our baby yesterday and wanted to do a little celebration together with it later on that day. We stopped there and on the spot they took the envelope and made us two cupcakes with the proper gender color inserted so that he and I could have our own little intimate gender reveal. They were delicious!!!!

Birthday cake for my 2 year old

When it comes to ordering a specialized cake, there aren't a lot of options nearby. I'm very grateful for Splurge. They make beautiful specialized cakes and they taste very good. I ordered a birthday cake less than 2 weeks in advance for my son's 2nd birthday. I showed them a picture of what I wanted with some edits, and they definitely delivered. I was late to my pick up time due to unrelated issues, and this was not a problem. I easily found parking right in front of the storefront and they brought the cake to me, I didn't even have to get out of my car. They gave me some instructions about the additional pieces to put on as well to not refrigerate given the timeframe. I ordered chocolate with raspberry filling and am very pleased with the flavor and the way the cake looked. Minus one star because they didn't respond to my emails but were great at picking up the phone.

I had been wanting to try Liv Breads for so long, especially after all of the amazing reviews I had…read moreread and the positive feedback I had heard from family. I finally made it there the other day and was shocked at how substantial the place was. It was no small bakery, but was a full cafe and gourmet shop as well. Though I did not try their savory sandwiches, breads, salads, or spreads at that time, I did purchase some of their sweets. First, the Chocolate Rugelach were some of the best I have had. The delicate, flaky cookies were like little croissants and were ribboned with a rich chocolate spread. Their version also had hints of vanilla, which I really enjoyed. I also got one of their large Chocolate Chip Cookies, which was thin, but packed with gooey bittersweet and semi-sweet chocolate. It also had a light sprinkling of Maldon sea salt on the top. It was super decadent! Liv Breads exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to revisiting to try many more of their items.

I have never written a negative review before, which probably says something about how upsetting…read morethis experience was for me. My family and I have been regular customers at Liv Breads in Millburn for the past five or six years. I come here almost every day, often morning and evening, for coffee and breakfast, and my husband gets his coffee here literally every single day. We have always enjoyed the food and coffee and have spent a considerable amount of money supporting this bakery over the years. Even a regular black coffee here costs around $5 plus and when you are buying coffee and breakfast this frequently for years, you are clearly a loyal, paying customer. But what happened today genuinely hurt me. After finishing my coffee, I asked for the usual refill. The person serving me insisted that I bring back my used coffee cup before she would give me the refill. She then specifically told me that "a lot of people like you" have been asking for refills, and therefore she needed to see my cup before giving me one. If there is a new policy requiring customers to show their original cup, I have absolutely no problem with the policy. What upset me was the way it was communicated, particularly the phrase "people like you." As a brown-skinned Indian woman, I could not help but wonder what exactly "people like you" meant and whether I would have been spoken to the same way if I looked different. I am not claiming to know what was in anyone's mind, but I can say how the interaction made me feel: singled out, embarrassed and unwelcome. I have lived in the U.S. for years and cannot remember another interaction that made me feel this way. What makes it especially disappointing is that this wasn't an interaction between a business and someone who walked in for the first time. They know us. We have been coming here almost daily for years. Customer loyalty should mean something--not free coffee and not an exemption from reasonable policies, but simply being treated with familiarity, dignity and respect. The food and coffee have always been good, and that is exactly why we kept coming back for so many years. Unfortunately, after today's interaction, I walked away feeling deeply uncomfortable and no longer welcome. After five or six years of supporting this bakery, it genuinely makes me sad to say that I don't plan to return.
