Online shopping all the way from California! I'm so glad that I never gave up on looking for the snowboard that I've been eyeing on since Rome came out with their 2020 previews. I got busy with work and didn't know when I was able to go snowboarding and by the time I was ready to buy it-- my size was sold out everywhere. I went as far as looking up sites in other countries, and countries that I didn't know existed looking for that particular board. I clicked on every link on Google and searched in all unique forms and ways hoping that a store will magically appear with a ROME SDS 141, did this for about 3 days. Just when I was about to give up, I found this little gem online that's based in Vermont.... I seriously thought it was a glitch or another warehouse error like the other places. Nope, it was not a dream, I got my shipment confirmation the next day. Now that I know it's real, I can start buying the bindings and boots from them. I called for some help and Travis happily answered all my questions and gave me some suggestions. Great customer service experience! I most definitely recommend this place. We had such a great experience at Splinters with the owner Travis. We heard he was helpful and awesome, and indeed he was. He quickly figured out my boyfriend's bindings were not set correctly. Boyfriend demoed a board and purchased it. I found a really nice women's Burton top and bottoms and love them (and enjoyed the 30% discount). Would highly recommend. Travis didn't try to sell me on a new board or even sharpening my edges. He said I needed a new wax only. Nice to encounter someone who who just loves boarding and wants to help others love boarding. Our snowboard instructors at Sugarbush highly recommended Splinters Boardshop - a boutique, highly specialized snowboard goods store at the base of Sugarbush Access Road. Travis, the owner, is a passionate snowboarder who was able to help me identify a first set of snowboard boots and my wife with her first boots/bindings/snowboard kit. He focused on the right equipment for us, at our skill level, as opposed to pushing the most advanced or expensive equipment. When he was sold out of a particular item in which we were interested, he directed us to another store to pick it up. The owner is also an all around nice guy and spent the time to chat with us about the area and about snowboarding. There's a few great stores in the Warren/Waitsfield area the Splinters is definitely a top choice. Looking forward to checking out Splinters again on our next trip up. read more

I packed in a hurry and somehow managed not to grab the disc plates for my bindings, leaving them a four hour drive away at home. The Sugarbush rental guys pointed me to Splinters and Travis basically saved my day. It was about $25 to rent a pair of bindings for the day - a small price to pay for walking into a boardshop in an area you've never been, feeling like a complete idiot, and having the most chill & positive guy turn your day around. He even took the time to adjust the straps to my boots and helped me attach the bindings to by board even though I could've done it myself. Super appreciate the whole experience.
