The woman helping me was very friendly, happy to help but to give me space. I bought a top for my babe and when I was looking at it she mentioned she had a navy colorway, which wasn't out on the floor but she went to get it for me to take a look at and I MUCH preferred it to the green one I had seen and was considering. I can't wait to see her in it! It's not a cheap shop, particularly if you're looking for clothing. But they had a sale going on when I was here and the two racks were packed with stuff. I've been to several local baby stores, and this one easily stands out as the best. The store is bright, welcoming, and well-organized. Every single staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We came specifically to check out strollers because we were overwhelmed with online reviews and needed to see them in person. The team here was amazing -- they patiently walked us through each option and gave clear demonstrations. What really stood out was that they allowed us to take the strollers outside for a real test run, complete with a demo baby. All we had to do was provide our IDs. This made a huge difference since testing a stroller on the sidewalk feels totally different than just pushing it around indoors. They have a great selection of strollers and car seats. We felt no pressure to buy right then and there, in fact, they helped us conceptualize how to save a lot of money. We will be making every effort to buy many items through this amazing store, plus taking them on their offer to help with car seat installation. This shop is located in Bridgeport Village Shopping Center, an open air mall in Tualatin, and though there's not parking right in front of it there's plenty of parking kind of around the corner. They have some truly lovely stuff here. There was one brand called Viverano that caught my eye almost as soon as we walked in and I'm not sure if I should be glad or not that my daughter has gotten close enough to aging out of their size range (their biggest size is 18-24) because their cardigans on display here were gorgeous. And adorable!! They carry children's clothes in a higher range of sizes than some kid's stores, I think. In addition to clothes there are some toys and kid-related things like plates, books, and so on. I found a great dress for my kiddo and I can't wait to see her in it; although it says it's a 2T, and she's in the 95th percentile or higher for height and weight, this is super big on her so I'll try it again when she's closer to two. They had some really cute spring dresses when we were here but I restrained myself. The staff here was really welcoming and friendly, and sweet with their little clients. I was really pleased with my experience here. In checking out their website, I see that they specifically mention that if you purchase online they are happy to run your purchases out to your car so that you don't have to find a spot and lug in your littles. That is so helpful and if I was living in Oregon right now that would be a big attraction to me. As it is, I will be following them on social media and keeping an eye on their sales.

Although it is primarily a consignment children's clothing store, you'll also find no shortage of wonderful, analog toys to plant the seeds of imagination in your little ones, in the hope that they'll sprout into clever, intelligent, fully-functioning, not-screen-addicted adults! This must be a conscious choice, because I could find nary an electronic device anywhere in the shop! Big kudos from me on that point alone! As for the clothing, let's just say, you're spoilt for choice. While some of the items are a little on the pricier side than I would like for a consignment shop, the quality of the clothing here is impeccable: clean, well-organized, and a healthy variety of sizes and styles. Everything you could need for any age, from newborn and toddler, up through the early grade school years: shirts, pants, dresses, hats, coats, shoes (TONS of shoes!), costumes, and all sorts of accessories! There's also a small selection of baby stuff in the back, including cribs, swings, and a host of different devices that I have no clue as to their function, but will assuredly be learning about them in the coming months (my wife is due next month)! In the last year, I have come to learn that shopping for a new child sucks, mostly because there is a dearth of places that have any quantity of clothing and accessories, outside of the big box stores, which I would prefer not to frequent, if possible. Hoot-N-Annie is VERY particular about what they take in to consign... but this means what they sell is quality, and they are responsible in taking care of your items. She carries clothing here that I've never seen before at the children's stores I usually visit in the Chicago area (I've already told the owner of one of them that she needs to look into these brands!). I really appreciated that she explained the sizing system since I was a bit perplexed at first (maybe she saw my confusion)--since some are brands based in other countries, they're sized by centimeter but the American sizing equivalent is on the back of the tag (though can we talk about that cm/in sizing system for a moment, because it would make my life infinitely easier when trying to buy kid clothes....) Almost the moment I walked into the shop I zeroed in on this adooooorable pantsuit for my daughter, and a darling dress. I'm buying a little larger for her since she's a high percentile child and I'm looking forward to seeing her in these when she's big enough to wear them. They also sell local goods--I bought a Portland-themed t-shirt for the babe. I asked about a local shoe company I'd heard of that listed BW as a retailer and though they don't carry that brand any longer, she showed me a different local brand they carry called Ozznek (which has super cool shoes with removable soles!!) and I bought two pair for my little. This lovely little store was worth the visit; I will definitely return and I'm keeping an eye on their socials. I think they ship as well so between that and stopping in when I'm home visiting my mom I can keep my babe in cool duds. Parking is on the street, and it was easy for me in late morning/early afternoon on a Thursday, but I'm not sure if they have any parking lots or garages for visitors to Portland's Boise neighborhood.

Fortunately, places like Pinwheels help take the edge off of clothing and entertaining the little guy! Clothing, shoes, accessories, toys, books, games, strollers, swings: it's all here! And it's all a bargain! Lightly used? Just about everything seems about as close to brand new as possible; *I'd* certainly never know the difference. There's even a "diaper depot" (as I like to call it anyway): a drop box where you can donate extra diapers you no longer need, so that others less fortunate can take them for free; a heartwarming touch that immediately endeared me to this place. The owner is a vibrant, wonderful woman who immediately engaged us upon entering, and make the whole experience a true pleasure. And she has an eye for style, quality, and most important in a resale shop: cleanliness! We bought a pair of shoes and a few toys this time around, but I foresee many return visits to Pinwheels, and not just to re-sell the clothes my son outgrows.
