Delicious vegan food for a great value!! Kid-friendly, cozy and casual. I highly recommend. My kids devoured their veggie nuggets (even my very picky eater whom hates vegetables!) We came for lunch, I initially wanted to order the stuffed portobello cap, but was told it would take 40 minutes. Bummer. Next... I tried to order a milk tea with non-dairy milk but to my surprise... They don't carry any. (And if you're wondering.. the almond milk drink they have on the menu comes from a powder, which sounds a bit unappealing to me). Aside from that, I really enjoyed this restaurant! To meat eaters: you won't be disappointed!

It's fantastic! I really like the food and restaurant itself there! They really put a lot of effort on the new menu and house remodeling. As an asian, I finally found the most traditional food in this island. The food there is really like what I eat at my hometown, I definitely will go eat there a lot. It's amazing that the vegetarian food tastes so good and my stomach is really comfortable afterwards.

There was a vegan festival going on in Charlottetown! So it was cool to see that they made up a special dish to participate.

This place was absolutely delicious. So glad I went here. The bbq buns were soft, sweet and salty. The mapo tofu dish had a deep rich flavour of five-spice and some other i-dunno spices (soooo good), as well as having an amazing silky texture and the green beans!! I.love.those.things. I'm not even vegetarian and it was so good and so similar to the meaty versions. I was blown away. The service was great and when I ordered my second & third side hot sauces (yes, I have a problem with hot sauce) they gave me a special crunchy hot pepper mix in soya sauce. It complemented the dishes so well! Otherwise, the default hot sauce is sambal oelek (chili garlic hot sauce) - which is still delicious. Overall a good experience and amazingly good food. They even accommodated for allergies. :)

Fantastic place to stop for some veggie friendly food in Prince Edward Island. Started off with some boiled dumplings which were some of the best I've had in a long time. Finished off with an assortment of other veggie dishes delightfully containing mock meat. Great selection of tea and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended if you're in the area!

After talking about it with my wife, we thought the food was rather bland, in addition to the service being poor...

We sat outside, enjoying the summer air and watching the downtown hum along. The food here leans simple but thoughtful. The Island Hot Cake was fluffy and satisfying, and the Fry Up breakfast (with bacon) hit all the right notes--especially the potatoes. Maybe it's just PEI magic, but even as a side, they stand out. Our lattes and matcha latte were smooth and well-crafted, and the pacing felt unhurried in the best way. Service was friendly without being overbearing, and it's the kind of place where you can linger with your coffee without feeling rushed. If you're in Charlottetown and want a reliably good breakfast with a quality cup of coffee, Receiver is worth the stop--especially if you can grab a patio seat.

Once inside, you'll find a modern and clean space filled with baked goodies, fresh bread and fabulous coffee. We fought the urge to buy the maple cream whoopie pies. I also was eyeing the tofu lemongrass bowl on the "meal menu". Their breads also looked delicious- I was eyeing the molasses oat bread. We ended up buying a maple cappuccino and a maple latte -and they were sooo good. They also offer a dog friendly patio out front. If you find yourself here for a cruise, this is a five minute walk (or less) from the port. Don't miss out!

We arrived on a Thursday evening in early June, and the restaurant wasn't quite half full, with tourism season still spinning up to full capacity. We were seated upstairs, which, like their whole space, gives the historic brick building centre stage. The menu a decent size for a place of Brickhouse's pedigree, with several apps and about a dozen mains. They were of the typical sort you'd expect to see in an up-casual restaurant, plus more seafood since you know, it's PEI. It's not particularly inventive or exciting, but there was still plenty of interesting options. I was feeling like some Island beef, so I opted for the short rib, while my other half went for the mac and cheese, with the gluten free noodles subbed in. The large chunk of boneless beef was ultra tender and juicy, and the velvety jus amplified that even more. The seasonal veg was a bit sparse and not especially exciting, but the crisp slices of roasted potato were a welcome addition to the plate. It's hard to have a bad mac and cheese, and Brickhouse passed with flying colours - plenty of cheesy goodness, and a nice bit of browning from some time under the broiler. A side salad of everything bagel-style Caesar salad could have used some more seasoning to make the famous bagel flavour more prominent in an already garlicky and savoury dish, but I appreciated the creative spin nonetheless. For dessert, we split the triple chocolate espresso cake. It presented really well, topped with a sliced strawberry and a dusting of confectioner's sugar and cocoa powder, in a pool of white chocolate pastry cream, but the execution wasn't quite up to the visuals. The cake was on the dense side, and wasn't moist enough to compensate, and the espresso flavour was MIA. Service was easy going and attentive. Brickhouse is lovely space in the heart of downtown Charlottetown, but the kitchen needs a little more attention to detail to truly stand out. It can be easy to coast by in a very touristy place, but people appreciate creativity and quality, no matter where they're from.

There was a guy from PEI they use to call potato…read more... And apparently he went on to make some banging pizza that feature potatos.... To the person who put carbs on our favourite carb, I salute you! Famous peppers is the most well known pizza joint in Charlottetown with a few locations including their newest spot in Founders Food Hall serving up some fantastic wood fired Za, sammys, and some boujee tacos. I can't speak too much on the location or service bc my BF was the delivery boy for this but WOW the Spud Islander could put me in my grave. The maple cream sauce, with chunks of sliced potato, caramelized onion, and smoked bacon were the party flavour town didn't know it needed! The dough is pretty good, not quite thin crust or Neapolitan but a solid tasty fortress holding in all those toppings. This was a white pizza with lots of cheese and salty sweet deliciousness that will have you reaching for more (and probably some water... or beer bc they offer that for takeout too) We also got the tropic thunder (where you at my pineapple pizza lovers?!) which is a red sauce pizza with cheese, jalapeños, red onion, pineapple (like real pineapple, not those weird canned chunks) and pepperoni. So good and nice spice! Definitely will order again, highly recommend anything with the maple cream sauce or potato's on it! Cheers to carbs on carbs and good pizza!
