a cup of coffee on a table

We wandered by here the night before and thought we should come back for our morning coffee, and yes so glad we did! Great decor, ambiance with pops of cheery yellow, good food, and flavorful lattes They have a good variety of food options with a Indian touch, nice tea selection, and coffee / espresso drinks too. I had the cardamom latte, and it was delicious! I was pleasantly impressed with the taste of the food. It was a great start to our day of exploring. It would be a nice spot to get some work done with free Wi-Fi and great seating options. I would highly recommend this place, and I would not hesitate to come back!

Had the roast chicken panini sandwich and salad, it was very good. The sandwich was filling and delicious. The salad was light but flavourful. The cafe has a very laidback vibe and kids friendly. Highly recommend!

The veggie complete was delicious and so was the chia latte I ll be going back for sure

5 stars out of 5 because: - open 'til midnight (since May 1st that is; and if you know PEI, that's fairly rare) - friendly staff - homemade backed goods; fresh food - just right decor - comfortable seating - supports local artists (art for sale on wall) & business (have you heard of soap with potato juice as an ingredient?)

Fine selection of desserts, teas, ice and hot coffees. Quiet and cheeky. Step in, bring a book, a laptop or company then sit or lay back and enjoy! Totally cool atmosphere paired with quick service and hot coffee!

This place is amazing I love their cold brew. But they seriously under produce and under stock it!! They have a very small menu, coffee is great but they should grow!

Pretty rough start to the morning, when you go for breakfast and they don't even have coffee ready. We waited 10 minutes for drip coffee... Kinda weird for a coffee shop. Would have liked to say at that point that shit happens; maybe they had an unexpected group of 30 people arrive before us who drank them out of coffee. But we ordered breakfast (the hash & burrito) and they were out of eggs, and out of burritos! What's going on here? Anyway, to their credit, they found eggs quickly and we had our breakfast within 15 minutes. But I can't even tell you how awful that burrito was... There's not one redeeming thing to say about it. Just steer clear. The hash wasn't bad, and according to the cashier it's the best thing on their menu. Not a good sign. But hey! The coffee was excellent! That's what's important, I think! Drip coffee was amazing, Flat White was perfect. So the moral of the story is: come here for the coffee, NOT for breakfast.

Really comfortable and cozy. Service is excellent. The blueberry pavlova was extraordinary. Coffee isn't bad at all.

Had a samosa and cofee. It was great and ambience was also good. Green sauce on side was good and it was not too spicy.

Excellent coffee and a large selection of baked goods. They grill their beans right on premises. Nice spacious patio.

While on the Island for a few days, one of my dinner targets was Brickhouse. My wife and I weren't…read moreable to make it the last time we were in town, but this time it was front of mind. We arrived on a Thursday evening in early June, and the restaurant wasn't quite half full, with tourism season still spinning up to full capacity. We were seated upstairs, which, like their whole space, gives the historic brick building centre stage. The menu a decent size for a place of Brickhouse's pedigree, with several apps and about a dozen mains. They were of the typical sort you'd expect to see in an up-casual restaurant, plus more seafood since you know, it's PEI. It's not particularly inventive or exciting, but there was still plenty of interesting options. I was feeling like some Island beef, so I opted for the short rib, while my other half went for the mac and cheese, with the gluten free noodles subbed in. The large chunk of boneless beef was ultra tender and juicy, and the velvety jus amplified that even more. The seasonal veg was a bit sparse and not especially exciting, but the crisp slices of roasted potato were a welcome addition to the plate. It's hard to have a bad mac and cheese, and Brickhouse passed with flying colours - plenty of cheesy goodness, and a nice bit of browning from some time under the broiler. A side salad of everything bagel-style Caesar salad could have used some more seasoning to make the famous bagel flavour more prominent in an already garlicky and savoury dish, but I appreciated the creative spin nonetheless. For dessert, we split the triple chocolate espresso cake. It presented really well, topped with a sliced strawberry and a dusting of confectioner's sugar and cocoa powder, in a pool of white chocolate pastry cream, but the execution wasn't quite up to the visuals. The cake was on the dense side, and wasn't moist enough to compensate, and the espresso flavour was MIA. Service was easy going and attentive. Brickhouse is lovely space in the heart of downtown Charlottetown, but the kitchen needs a little more attention to detail to truly stand out. It can be easy to coast by in a very touristy place, but people appreciate creativity and quality, no matter where they're from.
