I needed to replace my old Hayward single speed energy vampire with a new efficient dual or variable speed pump. I also wanted to take advantage of the NV Energy $250.00 dollar rebate. In order to get this rebate you have to use a service ( fyi ) that is signed up with NV Energy . I meticulously started going through the NV Energy list. There are many. I went through each one and read at least 10 to 20 reviews, out of all of them , the only one who had valid and solid good reviews was Splash and so I called. They responded swiftly. Hector showed up early, explained everything to me. I was ready to pay! A day later ( today ) Hector showed up with my new beautiful pump. A very quiet as in SILENT PUMP 2.7 MOTOR! He was responsive, answered questioned while he worked, a delightful and efficient man! I cant say enough! He explained my warranty is good for 3 years. HE PUT THE REBATE IN FOR ME! SO, you wont have to deal with that. In 24 hours I had a new quiet pump! They will be my go for service for any new systems. Sadly, at the moment they are not taking new customers for cleaning service but if and when that changes Splash can take care of that too ( crossing my fingers ) . Work performed: - Inspect pool condition and recommend repairs - Bid and install custom automation system - Bid and install custom lighting system - Replace filtration - Replace primary filter pump I contacted Splash for the work listed above and was very impressed with the response of both Hector and Scott. Highlights: - Pricing was competitive. Options were presented and I was allowed to choose. There was no overselling of the product and I felt comfortable with my decisions. - Work was completed on time, even with a holiday thrown in, and crew cleaned up after themselves. - The system, Pentair Easytouch 8, was installed without issue, as was the new Pentair pump and filtration. - The Intellibrite lighting system was installed without issue and worked mostly as intended ( See comment below) -Hector and Scott made themselves available for any questions I had regarding operation of the system and changes needed. I am thoroughly satisfied with the level of service I received from Splash. They made me feel like their #1 customer from day 1. When I needed work done outside their scope, they were able to point me to other contractors to ensure I was satisfied. Now my pool looks beautiful, heats properly and has amazing lighting! Other thoughts - The Pentair interface is a little clunky and the Intellibrite system does not work exactly as explained in the product manual. After struggling for two years to maintain a consistently clean pool, I finally decided to call Splash to help me with a equipment diagnosis. I learned that my filter system was too small for my pool! They suggested I replace the filter with the propper size and swap the pump for an energy efficient variable speed pump which is much more quiet and will lower my electric bill. Have an original 20+ year old system that had been "patched" by home warranty companies over the years and it finally gave out. Had several estimates and my neighbor recommended Splash. Hector came out and very quickly found the problem was the pump and motor and it needed replacement as well as the valve and piping. He drained the pool did a chlorine bath and replaced the equipment with a energy efficient variable speed pump and showed me how to operate it completely! My wife and I moved into a new, semi-custom home with a pool in late November of 1997. Although we were recently retired (i.e., retired at age 50), this was our first pool. We didn't realize that it was akin to adopting and raising a child - been there, done that. My wife and I are both engineers and at first, had no problem with performing the weekly maintenance. After about 5 years, key elements of the pool's waterworks begin to wear out as did our enthusiasm for the "care and feeding" of a big hole full of water in our backyard. This is when we got lucky and discovered Splash Pools and Scott Thomas. Over the years we've engaged Scott and his crew to perform a number of major tasks pertaining to the pool - draining and acid washing, replacing bulbs in underwater lights and maintaining a somewhat complex automated cleaning system. We've never regretted this choice. The work has always been performed in a professional and timely manner at a fair price. Our pool celebrated its 16th birthday last year, and we decided in early summer to replace all of the equipment (electrical panel, pumps, filters, heater, actuator valves, blowers, and control system) with "state of the art" hardware. Elements of our old system were wearing out and selective replacement and repair was proving to be less than cost effective. Also, we wanted to take advantage of sophisticated, Wi-Fi based controls and multi-speed, energy efficient pumps. The project took about three weeks and is now complete - we couldn't be happier. Most recently we contracted with Scott at Splash Pool Service to bead blast and seal our pool and spa. It had been several years since we had this done and the blue tile was white-crusted with thick calcium deposits. Splash came out to provide an estimate and we scheduled with them to do the work a few weeks out. The technicians showed up early for their appointment to drain the pool & spa and to bead blast. I was desperately looking for a pool company that would be able to provide the latest in automation control. My system was very generic and I had to walk behind the jacuzzi and manually turn valves in different directions to operate the system. What a pain! Well after quite a bit of searching with no luck, I read some great reviews about these guys and saw that they can do Automation and upgrade your existing set up! Exactly what I wanted. They (Jace) explained to me what would be installed and how I would be able to operate my entire system from my iPhone. I would be able to turn on the jacuzzi from my office or at dinner so it's at the desired temp when I get home. Perfect. We also decided to upgrade my pool pump to a variable speed pump that operates quiet and is more energy efficient. The install when perfect. They are very professional, have integrity, and best of all, when I had questions or needed a brief "re-explanation", Jace , and the owner, Scott, were always available to get back to me and assist. Typically ,I dont write reviews. I try to work out the problem with the company and that problem get corrected. But this is different. I have been a long time customer of this company and when I first contracted them to do chemicals, they did a very good job. Then they offered for a small price, an additional service to clean the skimmer basket and brush the steps. Since then I have had an lot of problems with them doing the work i`m paying them for. Every other week or so, there`s some problem!! First, it seemed they couIdn`t understand how the skimmer plate worked so, I gave verbal instruction to the pool guy. That didn`t seem to work, so finally I had to WRITE the instructions on how to service the skimmer and basket! I had to keep reminding them to brush the steps as well. I still had problems. Unbelievably, the pool guy was just here on Monday,July15, 2019 and today I went out to get something from the storage shed only to find I have algae growing in my pool! How can this be, if the proper chemicals were added in the correct amount on Monday? There`s no emergency contact number to call so if you have a problem like I have, YOU`RE SCREWED!!! Over the past year or so, these guys just do just enough to get by but, they are like clockwork when it comes to sending THE BILL. I say to you, the reader, beware of these guys, they are a pain the butt because you`ll have to spend YOUR TIME going behind them to correct their mistakes. Daaaaang I have a new pool service! I found these guys after my now "former" pool guy bailed on me. I'm thankful for the yelp reviews that really influenced my decision. I contacted them on a Sunday directly thru the Yelp app via message. I got a response back within 10 minutes. An appointment was scheduled for Monday and I received a call Monday to confirm. Wow. Then, in the allotted time window, THE GUY ACTUALLY SHOWED UP! And he was able to identify the issue immediately. I needed new filters. He removed them and promised me his coworker would come back out the next day and replace them. Then he quoted me a price and was out. Took about 15 minutes total. After hearing horror stories about pool companies and having my own recent pool guy falling out, I was a little skeptical about the guy coming out the next day to complete the job. Well, 8:15am the next day, ANOTHER GUY CAME OUT! And finished the job! Even went out of his way to make some recommendations and offered some tips. Anthony was his name. He knew what he was doing. Did not show up wearing a mask. Didn't ask if he should go get one from his truck. Asked where the gate was and I was wearing a mask in my own home and went to unlock the gate. He came into my home after checking the panel in the backyard in still did not put a mask on. Charged me $45.00 for a house visit and ended up calling the tech line to get me reconnected. Nothing needed to be fixed. I just needed to know that I should have called the Tech line myself because my i-phone had had an upgrade and cancelled out my connection to Screen Logic. So unbelievably angry with this pool service!! First off I want to start by saying this is my first ever yelp review, but I felt compelled to warn people from having what happened to us happen to them. Our pool is only about a year old and we only used splash pools for about 3 months or so. We have a saltwater pool which they said they did no problem. After the first or second service we noticed salt residue at the bottom of the pool we figured it would take a little bit to dissolve so we didn't think much of it. After a couple weeks the salt still remained at the bottom of our pool. So we used our brush thinking this would do the trick, however no luck again. We then noticed terrible calc build up on our hot tub tile that we never had before. It was so thick and terrible that at this point we were very worried ( mind you for about 7 months we had a different pool company and never had these issues) we then called splash pools to have someone address this issue and the guy who came out told us "it's completely normal with saltwater pools" and we could do a one time vacuum and tile cleaning starting at $90!! Are you kidding me?? We contacted a different pool professional and he told us our chemicals were completely off, that the salt residue and calc build up on the tile was not normal, and in fact that they were not using good salt if at all salt to service our pool, which had now damaged our pebble tec!!! The damage is so bad that even after vacuuming this white crystal hard sticky stuff re-emerges every couple of days and it has done serious harm to our pebble tec. We are now forced to drain our pool and do an acid wash and get fresh new water in the pool to keep the damage from going any farther! Of course we have to eat these costs and pay over $500 for a mistake made by Splash Pools and having unqualified people dealing with saltwater pools!! Completely horrible experience!!! read more
