This is an awesome to get lunch with coworkers -- the menu is expansive and the food is yummy. The ingredients are super fresh and the flavors are great. People who may have dietary restrictions can find food they can eat and still have a good meal. It's easy to find seating as a group of people, and the decor is pretty groovy so it's a nice place to dine in at. During the warm months, it is also nice to sit outside. It is counter service so you order and then they give you a number flag to put on your table. When your food is ready, they will bring it to you. The reason for 4 stars is that sometimes the staff does get your order a little wrong and also there is a bit of inconsistency with ratios of ingredients. These little issues have happened across multiple visits, either to me or my coworkers, where certain ingredients are almost nonexistent and other ingredients are overwhelming the entire dish and then it completely swaps the next time we go. Or, they give you the wrong dressing (but that is very minor). I recommend the Doner Basket and Street Cart Wrap! Both are super delicious and are in a good-sized portion such that you won't leave hungry. Also, their sweet potato fries are must-try-- they are waffle cut and never disappoint. read more

This is some good and different Mediterranean food. I love the flavors and the quality. My favorite is the Donor wrap with chicken. I've also have had the fried pita strips and those are good too. The prices are high! The last time I went, I just got the wrap and it was $14. To me, that seems very pricey. Such a hopping spot at lunch time! Good luck parking in that busy lot, I ended up parking down by the bank and then walked over. You order at the register and then they bring it to you. Such a pretty location and interior! I tried the Doquitos and I was a bit underwhelmed by them. I think I would have enjoyed the loaded fries or the wraps more. I did try a Unicorn Baklava Nut Roll which was scrumptious but small. If they had a closer location to me I'd definitely make a return trip. read more

Do not eat here with allergies or food sensitivity ****Initially the service, atmosphere, and food were good- I ordered a wrap with no onion. I found as I continued eating that there were small amounts of onions in the meal, which due to other strong flavors- I was unable to detect. Onion makes me very ill in any quantity. I immediately pointed this out, they admitted they had mistakenly added onions but there was not enough onions visible to correct the situation. They added that they would not do anything to remedy the situation, I simply wanted the other half corrected. After this I noticed the staff eating while serving and hanging out on there cell phones- I was probably hyper aware, but I had the feeling they could not have cared less. As context, 3 stars is still actually really good in my book. It might have been that my expectations were set a little high. I enjoyed the recommended street cart fries with beef. Most of my party got the same with one person getting a quinoa bowl. It was pretty tasty but I thought a little too pricey at $12. I think it's well marketed as a place for groups to go to. Cons: Price (but I can look past the price due to their portions), flavor was underwhelming, tzatziki was bland, baklava was not good. Verdict: I think the food was slightly above average due to their generous portions size and their pita chips and hummus were awesome. I was disappointed in the baklava and tzatziki sauce. This used to be our favorite place. With two young kids and busy schedules we don't get to go out much. Tonight we sat and waited 40 minutes, watching people who came in after us leave with take out bags. When I finally asked if our ticket had been lost the host Gwyn smirked at me and said oh yeah we have a stove out so everything is taking longer. Instead of offering this information when we arrived we were only made aware of the situation after we had waited an unreasonable amount of time for a fast casual meal. Further more when Lillian finally brought our food out no apologies were made and no effort was made to make it right. Instead she demanded that we be patient when we very reasonably informed her of the situation. I'm sad to say that Spitz lost a loyal customer tonight. Spitz used to be a special place for my husband and I. We went on our first date to Spitz (Sugarhouse location), we have gone multiple times but not since about 2021. I see that is for good reason. The gyro which was described as having a "pillowy pita" was deep fried and hard to bite into, there was hardly any toppings on the gyro there was little to no meat, the sauces tasted flavorless and old on the gyro. The fries were lack luster and cold, and they over charge you for combos and if you want sauces you have to shell over money for a maybe 2 oz, of sauce. This is not a Mediterranean place, it tastes like McDonald's decided to make "Mediterranean" "food". My favorite part of the meal was the Ginger Ale that was watery and tasted like it was lacking syrup. The counter had mats on it emitting a "mildew pool mat/ play place" smell. It was loud, hot and smelly in the restaurant but far more smelly is their patio which smells like a toilet because it's right by the sewer for the restaurants. So you can eat crap food while smelling crap. Beautifully done ambiance. After eating here we felt hungry but too sick to eat anything else. Much less finish our date. This restaurant is also the gift that keeps on giving. I have been sick since I ate there. Full on sweating, feeling like I'm going to throw up, dry heaving and of course the thing that rhymes with Spitz, The Sh*ts... I'm on day 3 of feeling this way. I feel crappy, spent money on what I thought would be a great little pick me up date night but this has been a huge letdown. Never again will I waste my money in the hipster wasteland restaurant that tries to be kitschy like LA but misses the mark on all aspects. You have to have somewhat okay food to match your decor for it to work. I do have to say the service was good. Nothing to complain about they were nice and helpful and allowed modifications. I don't however think that it merits a tip but I still tip always. How is everyone okay with eating here? Is everyone just that obsessed with junky crap food? read more

Whenever I come to SLC/Utah, I always find my way to Spitz. It's fresh Mediterranean food that is full of flavor. When you walk in the music is bumping with good vibes and the space is inviting. You order at a counter and they give you a number to take to your seat where they will bring you your food. Also, it's an community eating/ open seating concept. There is a station to get freshly made dipping sauces that are perfect toppers to any meal-- especially, if your into spicing things up with their hot sauce. The menu has lots of great options -- salads, bowls, plates--including ones you can share (for an appetizer or family style). Much recommended and will be back. read more
