The food and management at Spin! Pizza are excellent. The service, however, is basically nonexistent. The restaurant is comfortable and roomy. This restaurant is convenient for lunch, so I go there at least once a week, or more. The customer orders and pays at the counter and then locates a table. A server brings the drinks and food to the table when ready. That is the last you'll see of the servers at your table. They clean the tables at leisure. If you need a refill or a box to place the remaining pizza in to take home, you'll need to return to the counter to make your request. Service has been pitiful since the first time I went into this restaurant. If the manager is around, he usually comes by the table to ensure that the food is up to your standards, and it usually is. If he sees that you need a refill or a box, he will ask and then tell a server to bring the items. Otherwise, if the place is not busy, you'll see the servers standing around chatting. I no longer feel the need to tip for no service; do people believe they are entitled to a tip simply because they work at a restaurant? If so, where did that nonsense begin? I rarely leave a tip on the table. I make sure I give it directly to the server who actually provided service. The rest of them need to understand that tips are left for the service provided, not for their presence at the restaurant where they are employed. The folks behind the counter are always great, but the "servers" provide little to no service once the food has been delivered to the table. The pizza and salads are good, so I have been ordering take out more often. I can go inside the restaurant to pick up my order, or the restaurant offers curbside delivery. Russo' s is just down the street, so I may try that pizzeria for lunch to see if the food is as good and if table service exists. read more

This was my first time visiting, and although the customer service was friendly, my expectations were higher than reality. I came late with a friend and ordered one of the personal sized pizzas. It was around 8 dollars for the smallest size and only pepperoni which I thought was expensive for such a small size. The pizza was not amazing to me, it came out fresh but the flavors weren't there. I also asked for ranch, and they only had a cucumber sauce which was different. I've never heard of a pizza establishment not having ranch! I do have to say that upfront the customer service was great, the guy that checked us out was friendly and made sure to ask if we went to UTD to give a discount (I'm not so I couldn't) but the manager was friendly and helpful as well. They have a system where you pay at the register but they give you your ticket to keep at the table because there's a wait staff. The system was confusing because someone checked on us at the beginning and nothing else, we had to go up to the counter to get things. I'm guessing they wanted a tip by giving us one of the tip folders with our receipt. We mentioned that there was a lack of service in the dining area and they were very apologetic and receptive. I might return to see what the larger pizza is like if I split it with someone. But the small size wan't worth it to me. read more

One of the better pizza chains in Dallas without question. Great service, very good pizza, and really nice dining area. They also have a patio for those who prefer to eat outside. My favorite pie here is the Tre Carne, which is essentially their "meat pizza". They also got a great selection of other pizzas, sandwiches, salads, soups. read more

What a find! We were out in Richardson for a birthday party and happened upon this fabulous pizza joint. The pizza and crust are delicious and the salads knock it out of the park! We fed 10 kids and 2 adults (including gelato dessert) for $100! The spinach and goat cheese salad alone is worth the 25 minute drive to return again. read more

DAMN. GOOD. PIZZA! Came here to celebrate a co-worker's birthday. Upon walking in, I was immediately impressed with the design and layout of the restaurant. After examing the menu, I settled on the mini mia special. Thie mini mia includes a 6" pizza and a salad/soup for $9.45. For your pizza, you can pick from one of their signature pizzas, or you can "spin your own pizza", and choose any two toppigs. Tip: Go with the signature pizza to get the most bang for your buck. If you're buying a 12" pizza, you're going to pay full price. A pepperoni is $11.95 and a shrimp scampi is $14.95. However, if you're getting the mini mia, you get to choose from any of their signature pizzas for the same cost. A great deal! Back to the menu. They had a WIDE selection of toppings. I counted 6 cheeses, 7 meats, and an array of roasted/normal veggies. I particulary appreciated the more exotic choices of toppings that are above and beyong the standard pepperoni and sausage. A couple of items that caught my attention were: prosciutto, sopressata salami, arugula, pinenuts, pepperoncini, pesto, crushed glazed pecans, sundried tomato relish, and my personal favorite, fig onion marmalade. The salad options were eqaully impressive. After a short battle in my head, I settled on the chicken and goat cheese pizza (don't worry Prosciutto & Spinaci & Fig Marmalade, I'm coming for you next time). I opted for my crust to be wheat (extra $0.50, and they also have an option for gluten-free for an extra $3.00) When my food was brought out, I was very eager to try my first bite as it smelled and looked glorious. My kudos to the pizza makers for understanding the importance of the small details like the roasted garlic olive oil glaze on the curst. They also added just the right amount of italian seasonings to give the pizza that zip factor. Every single bite was delicious and I cannot wait to come back! Highly recommend trying this place out! I'm so excited to have a great new pizza joint in Richardson! I ordered the Mini Mia pizza combination. It's a mini pizza with your choice of soup or salad for $9.45. You can also get the crust as whole wheat or gluten free for a small up charge. I selected the Margherita pizza and the Sonoma Salad. It was a very good choice. The pizza crust is that perfect combination of thin crust yet chewy, just the way I like it. The Sonoma Salad was amazing! Fresh greens, with grapes, golden raisins, apples, goat cheese and glazed pecans. The dressing, blood orange vinaigrette was delicious. Everything tasted so fresh! I like the concept at this joint. I tend to be picky and like to create my own pizzas instead of selecting one from the menu. This place caters perfectly to that. All the pizzas we have tried have been solid with a few being great. This place can get really busy so we usually come during the weekdays around 2-3 pm when we are able to so we can dine in a less hectic atmosphere. I just had their 12 inch three meat pizza. That was pepperoni sausage and hamburger. The sausage was just the way I liked it and they were generous with the portion. They made it quick on an oven right in front of you nothing to hide. The dining area was clean but rather Spartan. The service was quick and they actually give you the check at check out so you can take it with you to your table and then put the tip on that and leave it. I don't like other restaurants that give you the tip option before you've eaten and seeing what kind of service you can get. The fig does add a little bit of sweetness but it's not too bad. The flatbread comes with three types of spreads. The flatbread was a little salty by itself but the spreads were just mediocre. For casual, quality pizza, this place is number one. The crust is excellently prepared; crispy on the bottom all the way to the center with a good base flavor. For entrees, you can make any pizza into a mini pizza, or you can opt to make your own. Either way, you really can't go wrong. We got the pesto e pollo white pizza and tre carni red pizza. They were good - but nothing too special. If you need a healthy option, go with the Greek salad. It was refreshing and the dressing was on point. Service was also super good - theyre all young perky people so that always helps to make any dining experience more enjoyable. Overall, a great place for happy hour! Spin! Is an apt name: the Neapolitan tag in the name is a ruse, a spin on reality, a trick to get you in the door. I ordered a Margherita Pizza and for the heck of it an American standard Caesar salad since their other offerings didn't really grab me. Not sure how you can mess up this simplest of salads, but this oily salty flavorless bowl was boring. The pizza was a nice grocery store grade frozen pizza with halved cherry tomatoes on an unimaginative crust that I could only choke down one piece of before giving up. I did like the combination of the chicken and goat cheese though because the cheese made it all taste very creamy and overall I just like white pizzas more. Only 2 stars, especially when we had a free neighborhood coupon for our first experience, but we got the #4 roasted portobellos and criminis pizza. 1.) it was burnt, extremely overlooked. And I love my pizza a little crispy, this was actually burnt black, my crust was all the way black and not the good type that comes from the perfect level of crispness. 2.) this was pretty much a 85% - 90% cheese pizza with a few mushrooms on each piece. Same with each slice 90% all cheese on top and a tiny sliver of mushrooms in ONE area. On another note, this was supposed to be a portobello pizza, and it had 2 portobello slivers on the entire pizza For $12 full price, for a tiny pizza, it's just not worth it. I find SPIN! pizzas craveable. I spent 9 weeks in the hospital recently. For about half the time I had no appetite. But once I felt like eating, I frequently had people pick up pizzas & salads for me. And, no, I wasn't at the hospital across the street, it was a drive for someone to pick up for me. I love the fresh toppings and the combinations they've come up with. Their white pizzas are not drowning in Alfredo sauce, but have some ridiculously good garlic something on them. I trust the recipes enough that I would branch out and try new things. Not my usual MO with familiar restaurants. After I was out of the hospital, I made an in-person visit and SAW the reason for the name. (Maybe you know this.) The fire oven rotates! The service has always been great. They were super patient with me on the phone, with all my questions, even during busy hours. The oven is super fast, so I could order when my pick up person was walking in (usually my mom!). Plus they have IBC root beer. And they have some awesome looking ice cream. My niece has explained that proper protocol is to eat pizza first and ten kids get a scoop of ice cream after. Maybe next time we eat there and have a treat after. The pizza size is pretty spot on too. I could eat more, but it's really just right after I let it reach my stomach. In conclusion this place is pretty awesome. I'm stingy with my 5 star reviews, well just because not every place is perfect and I save the 5th star for those emotional WOW places. My boss took our office out to lunch today for my birthday. One of my coworkers called ahead and placed our order over the phone for to-go. Once we got there, we grabbed a large table and just ate our food at the restaurant. This worked out perfectly for us because we only have an hour for our lunch break. The employees at Spin are very friendly and took such good care of us! They provided us with plates and silver wear and got everyone beverages. One of my coworkers mentioned that it was my birthday and they gave me free gelato, which I got the Vegan Chocolate...delicious! I always love coming to this place! I wish they offered vegan sausage as a topping, but I brought my own and added it after they brought my pizza out to me. I recommend this place to anyone who loves pizza. read more

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The food is a little pricey, but its so delicious that it is worth it. We "made" our own pizzas, selecting toppings off a list and then anxiously awaiting their arrivals to our table. We then got to taste each other's and playfully argue over which was better (mine was). While we waited, we got the eggplant parm and the lemon ricotta spread to share. I strongly advise not doing this. Not because both weren't awesome, because they were, but because it's a TON more food than it looks like and you won't make it through your meals. You can choose to get the eggplant with a little side salad and truly make that a meal all on its own. The lemon ricotta spread and breads are also a heaping portion and there's no way to make it through if you order more food. The ricotta is exceptional though, and I seriously tried to figure out if it would be okay to reheat it if I shoved some in what I can only describe as the cutest to-go box I've ever seen. While I JUST mentioned to not go crazy with your order, definitely make sure you get gelato. There is one flavor, which I sadly can't remember the name of, that you cannot describe by the name. I asked the woman at the counter what was in it. She just replied with "amazing things". Sold. It was incredible, too. While it is too pricy for us to go all the time, I definitely want to go back to try the other things on the menu. read more

I love cheese, even the stinky stuff, but it was too over powering. It had very little avocado and egg - big bummer. The 5 cheese personal pizza was the perfect size for me! We just moved to the area and wanted to try this pizza place. We went on a Friday evening and there was hardly any people maybe 5 customers total. Still we were not welcomed or greeted, not even by the cashier. He just stared blankly at us waiting for us to order. We ordered a pepperoni pizza since it's pretty much hard to mess up. We sat down and around 15 minutes they brought the pizza, it was super greasy, hard and hardly any tomato sauce on it. This is not Neapolitan in any way shape or form (if you have had the real deal.) And how do you know if you did besides going to Italy yourself? [Keep in mind that not all parts of Italy have the Neapolitan style...currently few places in Rome and a city known as Latina have amazing Neapolitan...and well Naples itself] Well...you most likely would know you have because you went to authentic restaurants run by off the boat Italians....and the pizzaiolo is an actual Italian pizzaiolo who mastered the craft after many years of apprenticeship back in the mother land (and not some random person who learned in less than a months time but will surely call him/herself the real deal). So back to the two stars. I'll describe the pizza and if you know what's wrong with it then this should suffice. If you can't detect why anything of what I describe is wrong then come on down. You won't know the difference anyway. And like I said even bad pizza is good. The pizza dough and crust was overcooked and crisp to the bite and when folded it cracked. The passata di pomodoro is thick and dry. The cheese is fully melted all over the pizza. There are small cherry tomatoes cut in half all over the pizza. Thought the pizza here was ok. For a Neapolitan pizza, the crust definitely wasn't as thin, crispy or fresh as I wanted it to be. I got the prosciutto and fig pizza and the pizza itself was a little too greasy/oily and a little too reliant on globs of mozzarella instead of good, fresh ingredients to make it flavorful. Definitely could've left the pizza in the oven for a little longer as well because the mozzarella came in clumps instead of the melted, gooey goodness you expect from a good Neapolitan pizza. Overall, not terrible, and definitely a better choice than Cici's (saw a lot of families with young kids here), but would go somewhere else if you're looking for authentic, quality Neapolitan pizza. read more
