    Sooji Dahi Puri

If you're craving Delhi street food, the spicy tandoor food truck in the Bay Area serving suji dahi puri, chole kulcha, and chur chur naan is a must-visit. It does take some time to prepare your order since they make everything from scratch, but you won't be disappointed with the food. I went here this weekend with a bunch of our friends and we tried out a couple of dishes. **Suji Dahi Puri: OMG! This delightful snack offers a perfect balance of tangy, spicy, and sweet flavors. The crisp suji puris filled with creamy dahi and tangy tamarind chutney burst with freshness in every bite. They also added cashews and raisins along with slice of beetroot on top of it. We ordered at least 3-4 of these easily. This is probably one of my favorite dish from this food truck. They mentioned that they are going to start pani puri as well in next 2 weeks or so. Their kulcha taste more or less same as the Chur Chur naan. It's not exactly what you get in Delhi but again it's stuffed with potato filing with Chole and mirchi pickle on the side. The chur chur naan is a delightful twist on the traditional naan. Flaky, buttery, and stuffed with a flavorful potato filling with whole spices, each bite is a delicious explosion of textures and tastes. The naan thali comes with paneer, dal makhani, curd and pickle on the side. Paneer and dal makhani tasted ok. In addition, the sweet lassi was pretty good, unlike other places where it's mostly too sweet, this one had the perfect amount of sweetness and was also very flavorful. Lastly, we also ordered the kachori with aloo sabzi, it tasted ok. They have few tables outside and they also have some covered tents. There is limited parking available near the food truck but you can also park in the previous lot and also on the adjacent street. This food truck has successfully brought the flavors of Delhi to the Bay Area, making it a one of my to go destination for street food.

Best chole kulche: the kulche is so crispy and brings back fond memories of home. They have a small dining area outside and it gives all the dhaba feels. You won't be disappointed. The kulche, the chilli, the chutneys eas the star of the dish One request: we drove all the way from south San Jose and this place lacks restaurants. Kindly consider expanding there someday. You won't be disappointed. By that I mean almaden/blossom hill/Santa Teresa neighborhood

This food truck, renowned for its North Indian cuisine, offers a must-try dish: the Chur Chur naan thali.

Amazing food. Very authentic Punjabi flavors. This is definitely going to be my weekend spot for Chole bhature They make fresh bhature and Kulche as you give the order and that's what makes it taste better. Service is fairly quick

The first chole bhature I've been able to eat in 20 years!!! So grateful!

I just had the first Indian food that wasn't saag paneer in 20 years!!! I loved Indian food in my teens and early 20s but very sadly became allergic to cumin, tumeric and tamarind between 24-26, so pretty much the only Indian food I can enjoy are some saag paneer and sweet lassi. When the owner of Spicy Tandoor food truck in Sunnyvale heard this, he asked what my allergens are. Tonight he made me custom chole bhature that I can eat!!!! It's SO good!!!! I am so grateful for this delicious kindness!! Two thumbs way up for Spicy Tandoor!! The couple who run it are very kind, and all their food is amazing (my husband orders there at least once a week so I usually smell his food a bunch and it's heavenly.) Highly recommended!!! Thanks tons, Manmeet!! We'll be back. A lot.

Absolutely phenomenal, mind blowing. Like I'm back in Amritsar. I don't have words to describe how yummy the choor choor nan and amritsari kulcha was. Wow. Amazing. Highly recommended for delhites and punjabis in the Bay Area. Super authentic.

After long time got black chole with Bathure. Very close to what I was used to get back in Delhi.

This place keeps getting better with every addition to the menu. I recently sampled their churchur naan, sooji dahi puri, and kachori chaat--each dish was absolutely fantastic! As far as I know, it's the only spot around where you can savor puris made with suji. Highly recommend!

Best chole bhature I have had outside of India. Just the right amount of spices and felt very much like the chole bhature you get in Delhi.

They take card, but there's an up-charge for it. The order: Super Burrito (asada) $12: I'm not playing on the price, check the photos. Delicious burrito that was a nice size and excellent price point. The tortilla tasted so nicely toasted and had a crisp at the edges. Along with your choice of meat, the burrito has Spanish rice, avocado, onions, salsa, beans. What else do you need? The length was almost my entire forearm, might have been actually. I was also given two sauces: a cilantro green sauce and (chipotle maybe) a red sauce. I did not receive the orange sauce mentioned in other reviews. Remember to request what you'd like. The second time I went, they gave me red sauce and orange sauce. Minus 1 star because of slightly inconsistent quality. When I went the second time, the fillings were still great, but ratio was different than the first time. It made the burrito taste different, no crispiness. Still good, but seemed more like a mid burrito I wouldn't have been raving about. BUT I did go right before closing compared to right after opening, which I can understand could make a difference.

The best of the bunch was the dahi batata puri, but it still didn't quite hit the spot. It was definitely on the sweeter side and I felt like the dahi/yogurt wasn't as creamy as I prefer. The chinese bhel was okay, but didn't have much flavor. Lastly the ragda pattice had so much potential. The flavor was there, but it was insanely spicy- even as someone with a med/high spice tolerance. You could feel the burn traveling down to your stomach. All of us found it unbearable and worse of all felt the affects for a day after. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes but after the all the discomfort of the meal- I don't feel inclined to return.

Yesterday, I ordered a Vada Pav, Shalimar Egg Mughlai (on their recommendation from their list of egg dishes), and a Veg Frankie -- and honestly, none of it lived up to the hype(5 stars currently) or price point. Vada Pav: It was okay. The "mirchi" served alongside was literally a raw Thai green chili. Really? At least pan-fry it with some salt and oil to enhance the flavor. For over $10 with taxes, this was already pricier than better Vada Pavs you can get at places like Elco Drive, and yet it offered nothing exceptional. Frankie: This one made me genuinely angry. It was a soggy maida roll stuffed with the same aloo masala from the Vada Pav, plus a few sad shreds of cabbage. That's it. And they had the audacity to charge $12 for it. ($1.50 for cheese, lol I am glad we didn't add)This isn't a Frankie -- it's a lazy repackaged Vada Pav with no flavor or creativity. They threw in some pickled jalapeños on the side, which only added confusion. If you're running a fusion menu(well partially), at least mention it upfront instead of misleading customers. Egg Shalimar Mughlai: At $13, it was passable but still not impressive. The bun on the side was not toasted or anything. Better than the Frankie, but nothing I'd recommend or return for. I was so excited for trying this place but, overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. If your Vada Pav and Frankie are practically identical, maybe inform customers before they order both. I wouldn't recommend Maya Kitchen -- save your time, appetite and money and go somewhere else. Thank me later.
