Kurma Puri

The weekend buffet here is excellent. I am a vegetarian, so I tasted all the many vegetarian choices and thoroughly enjoyed. The Kurma Poori was excellent . Everything was delicious. I am not satisfied; I am delighted. I heartily recommend Bombay to Goa restaurant in Sunnyvale for a fantastic experience.

This is a great restaurant for Indian food in the Bay Area. Worth the trip from San Francisco, the buffet was perfect for the family. I really enjoyed the variety of dishes. Veg and non veg, great for everyone. Great flavor on all the dishes, I especially enjoyed the spicy sauces on the side. I loved the vibe inside, def made me feel at home. Everything was clean and well maintained. When the dishes ran out they replenished them promptly. I want to try some more dishes next time for à la carte orders.

We came here for weekend breakfast buffet. There were very few options idli, upma, dosa(pre-made), puri, misal, vada pav. The chutneys were diluted and we couldn't enjoy the idli/dosa much. When we requested, they obliged and got us fresh chutney. We were happy about that. Tea was good too. Every item was cold and didn't feel appetizing.

Had a great time with some Konkani Goan food in Sunnyvale. Owner Mr. Naik is very friendly and has introduced some Goan delicacies like Goan Shrimp curry, Jowar Bhakri, Kokum Solkadi etc. On weekdays they also serves Fish Thalis having Pomfret or Mackarel or King fish curries or fried too. Local Goan dishes like Xacuti and Cafreal is also available if you want some Goan Portuguese touch to your palate . It's new, so please be patient but they really try hard to make it a decent meal for you !! Will definitely visit again for some authentic recipes!!!

Reviews are largely positive. Diners praise the authentic Goan dishes, fresh and flavorful seafood, and friendly, attentive staff. The buffet is also noted for its good variety.

Puns aside, their noodles always hit for me. I admit, I've yet to try their bag o' crab (clearly their specialty) -- or any seafood boil bags for that matter, but it smells delicious & there always seems to be a good amount of diners enjoying themselves. They provide disposable bibs & gloves to help keep your hands & clothes clean. Staff is always friendly -- & even when they seem busy! There is also an order kiosk you can utilize for takeout in case the staff are attending to other tasks/guests. I always seem to come in the last hour or so, when I am getting off work and feel like I don't want to cook dinner -- so I usually order to-go. When I get the chance to come by earlier in the day, I will definitely be ordering one of the combos~ Atomic sauce is their most popular, and contains all four of the other sauces combined. Prices seem pretty reasonable too, compared to some other seafood boil places that I have been to. The service & their noodles will definitely keep me coming back. Thank you Bag O Crab!

They're good, but not the best I've had. With my combo 1, I got head-on shrimp and clams with the atomic sauce and mild spice. I heard the atomic was a combination aka Whole She-bang etc. which is what I normally get from seafood boil places. It was ok, nothing too special, very chunky sauce with lots of garlic. The mild spice, however, was really more like a medium spice as it only took a couple of shrimp to really feel it. For my head-on shrimp, most of the shrimp heads were already like detached from the body which defeats the entire purpose of it. They were also on the small side which I know it's by the pound but it's noticeable. It was very underwhelming in terms of that. The clams were good, not much to say about those other than they were absolutely drenched in the chunky sauce. Overall, this place is ok. Nothing really stood out to me compared to other seafood boil places.

Overall one of my favorite places - finally got to try the Korean marinated crab and I love they offer a soy version - not spicy!! My only complaint is the crab is so small :( Tasty but small... I love they give you a little bowl of rice with various toppings to mix and eat together - definitely enhances the textures and flavors! Love their cold noodle soup - the noodles are perfect and it really hits the spot as perfect comfort food - especially great on a hot sunny day!! Love their bon chon - everything they offer is delicious with so much variety! I think a must have is their beef pancake. I usually get their seafood pancake but decided to try the beef! What a surprise. Tender with crispy crunch on the outside - it was SO GOOD... way better than their seafood version which I think doesn't have enough seafood but this one is ALL BEEF - can't hide with batter... All time favorite and our go to when craving Korean food! Service is good - they make sure we have our water filled and bonchons refreshed!! :)

Sometimes it's a difference in taste, sometimes the food doesn't meet expectations. That comes with running a restaurant, and it deserves a respectful response, especially when the review was written in good faith. A few things in your reply aren't what happened. We asked whether the prawns in the thali could be swapped for surmai. Your staff said no and we went ahead with our original order. We never said we wouldn't pay extra. We were only asking if it was possible, and nobody said that paying more would make it possible. The mutton was not finished. Only one piece and a spoonful of gravy were eaten, and the rest of the pieces were still on the plate. The chicken replacement was offered by your staff, not requested by us. When it was offered, we asked if paplet was an option. We did not say we wouldn't pay for it. We tipped over 22% because your team made an effort to make up for the mutton. If we wanted expensive food for cheap, we wouldn't have tipped that generously. I wish you and your business all the best.

This evening, there was a significant change and a couple minor shortcomings that made this a less enjoyable than in past visits. The restaurant wasn't very crowded for a Saturday evening. We were seated quickly and then considered our options. One big change from before is that you're now limited in how your grilled fish is prepared. Previously, you chose a type of fish and then a style, such as passionfruit glaze, pineapple salsa, green curry, etc. Now, the fish is all prepared the same way - sea salt, lemon, chimichurri. So even if everyone gets a different fish (like we did), it's all prepared the same way. Disappointing. We started with some calamari, like we always do. It was prepared well but it was obvious that the dish had been hit by shrinkflation. If there had been more than three of us it wouldn't have been enough to satisfy us all. For our grilled fish, we got the Kona kanpachi, Barramundi sea bass, and Verlasso salmon. All were good, but my kanpachi was a little overcooked and on the dry side. For the sides, we enjoyed the Mexican corn, Brussels sprouts, and kimchi fried rice but the asparagus was overcooked and a little mushy. Service was just okay. Our server barely looked over during the meal so it was hard to get her attention when our water bottle was empty. Prices were higher than we have been used to. The total for 3 diners with one shared appetizer and no drinks was nearly $160, with a 20% and mandatory 3% surcharge added.
