    Butter Chicken
    Matt S.

My wife and I hosted our kids 2nd birthday here and it was PERFECT. I forgot the name of our host, but he was amazing and super helpful. Literally anything we needed help with and needed, he was on it. He allowed us to come the night before our event to decorate and his hospitality and kindess was beyond exceptional. This is when we had the butter chicken fro the restaurant and it was delicious. We rented out the upstairs of the venue and it was a great size for about 120 people. The upstairs was split two rooms, which was nice because one room was dedicated as the playroom for kids, and the other was for mingling and had the food. Experience was great here at Shosha and would highly recommend it for events and for its food.

    Fauladi Makhani Kofta- extremely heavy!!

***USP: wouldn't call it upscale, but definitely more refined than most other Indian restaurants in the bayarea. Food falls in the category of small quantities served on large rimmed platters. ***Ambiance: they are on Murphy avenue so the outdoor seating on the street side is very lively. The indoors is also decent. ***Service: they have a robo server to bring out the dishes in addition to a regular server who seemed pretty involved. ***Food: this is where I was left slightly disappointed. We got a lot of dishes to share as we were a large group and unfortunately not one dish blew me over. **Pani Puri- 2/5- we got it as we were tempted by the yelp pictures with the dry ice but apparently they had some kitchen fiasco due to which dry ice was not available. I didn't care much for it but the puris were what disappointed me. They are those flimsy, non substantial, partly uncooked variety that we get by frying the uncooked raw puri pieces from Indian store. **popcorn mushroom: 3/5- a jolt of raw chilli powder kept hitting me on very bite, otherwise pretty soft inside and slightly crispy outside. **Paneer tikka:4/5 thankfully not rubbery and a pretty delicious marinade. **papdi chaat-4/5- decent again but was expecting more fireworks for an apparently upscale version. **Dal Bukhara- 4.5/5- the best dish of the evening. Definitely on the heavy side but absolutely delicious with a surprise tangy punch. **Vegan soy chaap lababdar- 2.5/5- heavy dose of some preservative or some kind of vinegar based sauce. **Fauladi makhani kofta- 3/5- extremely heavy! To their credit the description was accurate with regard to the creamy sauce doused with butter. **kadhai paneer- 3.5/5- this was topped off with chaat masala which gave it a unique twist. The dishes came with a side of rice. All I can say was it was disappointing to see partly uncooked dry rice being served in an Indian restaurant of all places.

A Co worker recommended Shosha to me so wanted to give it a try! The food was delicious and service was great. Standouts for me was the saag and some yogurt patty appetizer (forget what it's called). Overall a great experience and will be returning!

False advertising and poor service. We went for lunch because we saw a sign that said $15 for lunch Tuesday through Sunday. It was Thursday. The menu they gave us did not have those items. I asked why not. They said the poster is misprinted and it's only Saturday and Sunday. Then we sat and waited for more than 5 minutes and the waiter never came back, so we left.

First time in Sunnyville, and overall the restaurant had great vibes and friendly service! The waiter was really nice, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. As for the food, I wasn't completely impressed. The paneer tikka had a good marinade but was a bit rubbery, and the Dilli Papdi Chaat didn't feel as authentic. The portions were generous, though, and the drink was really yummy and unique with the amla flavor. I probably wouldn't go back for the food, but the vibes and service were enjoyable!

I find most upscale Indian restaurants overhyped-- surprisingly I like Shosha! Good yummy food for fair value compared to what you get in Bay Area, I wud go back again, nice cute ambiance and good service.

We visited on a weekday with a group of 11 adults and four children to celebrate a birthday. Our party was seated in the upstairs area, which I believe serves as the venue's party hall. Unfortunately, the ambiance left much to be desired-there was little atmosphere, the speakers were uncomfortably loud, and the temperature was quite warm, especially given the hot weather outside. The drinks were underwhelming, and the appetizers were just average. The only standout dish was the chili chicken, which had some genuinely good flavor. On a positive note, the service was excellent. Allwyn took great care of our group and was always attentive and responsive. His service was, in fact, the highlight of our evening. The total bill came to about $40 per person. For that price, the experience felt far from upscale, and there are definitely better dining options available in the Bay Area at a similar cost.

Shosha is our go-to place birthday celebrations! Awesome food, great hospitality and birthday music and sparklers make us to visit Shosha for every time! Their Chat pata platter is very refreshing. Spinach Paneer and Biryani is also very tasty I recommend this place to everyone!

Came here on a rainy Friday night to try their food. The drinks were very good! I appreciated the Indian twist that they put on classic cocktails both the paan infused smoky old fashioned and the papaya mule were both excellent. For the apps we went with the Dilli papdi chaat and the Tangela style chili paneer. The chaat was pretty tasty and came with pomegranate on top which was a nice touch and the paneer came out hot and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a classic tomato based gravy that was a little ketchup-y almost but tasty nonetheless. Finally for the mains we ordered the spinach corn/paneer, kadhai chicken, jackfruit biryani, and naan/roti. Pretty full spread overall. The creamed spinach was a little interesting and honestly didn't really resemble any Indian food I've eaten and the staff was nice enough to add paneer in as we realized after it was corn OR paneer not both. The kadhai chicken again was pretty standard, nothing super impressive but filling and the garlic naan could've been a little more garlicky. The jackfruit biryani was a little disappointing to be honest. The jackfruit itself was fine but the rice portion of the biryani didn't feel like a biryani almost colored rice and I felt it was not very flavorful and lacking in spices. Definitely on the more expensive side as they are going for a more upscale Indian but I feel like the fusion attempts on the menu makes the food seem to lose a little bit of authenticity. Overall a 3.5/5

I had the awesome experience of trying out Shosha's new Lazy Brunch Buffet - which folks can try out from April 20th! Now I have to say this experience was awesome. Shoshas ambiance feels classy and upscale with amazing service to make the experience even better! What is the cherry on the top is how amazing the food was. These are some of the items I got to try: *Nafraton ka Sharbat - this was a malai flavored drink, super creamy and absolutely fresh! *Aloo tikki - one of my favorites, this is crispy and soft potatoes with delicious sauce. Talk about a burst of flavor! *rice cake pepper chicken - this was a crispy rice dish with soft chicken on top. I really liked this with the different flavors and textures - one of my favorites *chicken shawarma bao - the chicken was well seasoned, and if you like baos this you'll enjoy *vada pav Kataafi - this was one of my favorites - if you like potato and lots of crunch, this one's for you! *makai malai dimsum - for rice lovers, this is a unique dish with rice on the outside with a veggie cheesy stuffing on the inside *butter chicken pinwheel - crispy, flakey deliciousness with everyone's fave butter chicken. Don't miss this one! *palak paneer baklava - think the pinwheel but paneer version, this was also quite flavorful I also got to try a variety of dishes that came with assortment of breads like chole bhature (delicious garbanzo beans curry) and a potato curry as well as a lentil curry as well! They were all flavorful and went well with the variety of breads they had which were warm and ready to munch on! There was also a live omelet station which was awesome for the egg lovers. We also got to try idly vada with sambar and chutneys which was amazing. To end the meal we had the following desserts: *mango & banana liquor firni - delicious, creamy and refreshing *shahi gulab malai roll - my favorite since I love rose flavored anything! Definitely try this We also got to try a few of the cocktails - the fig sour, Calcutta paan old fashioned & punch Puran. The punch Puran was my favorite! It had the perfect tang and was delicious! Would highly recommend one to check out Shosha!!

Looking for an upscale Indian restaurant in Sunnyvale with delicious food and amazing drinks? Shosha is the place! Their cocktails are incredible. The Calcutta Paan Old Fashioned truly has an aftertaste just like paan, and the Papaya Mule is a fantastic twist on a classic Moscow Mule. While the menu changes monthly, the chicken curries are always a winner. Pro tip: If you're celebrating a birthday, bring your own dessert (or order theirs - the Rasmisu is delicious) and let them know. They'll make it extra special with party lights, music, and a sparkler! This really added a fun touch to our celebration.

We were here on a Friday night to celebrate a girls night out. We walked in and greeted very professionally by our waiter. The waiter was very humble give us ideas on what to order and definitely listen to us and taking pictures. The items we order I have photographed them. They were all definitely a hit. The best part was the customer service and even the chef came out to greet us. We will definitely be back for more girls night in.

Keep Calm and Crab On is their version of Crab Benedict. Everything about this Benedict is special and unique. Instead of the traditional lemony hollandaise sauce, it had a brown butter hollandaise. The brown butter's nutty and slight sweetness complemented the crab flavor that you can still taste the crab instead of getting overpowered by the sauce. They use loose real crab meat; not the crab patty type so no fillers. Really good amount of minced crab meat that it's nicely proportioned with the biscuit. Instead of English muffin, they use a big scallion biscuit. The biscuit was toasty on the bottom and the rest was moist with little pockets of honey. The poached egg's yolk was a bit more cooked than the traditional jelly or runny yolk but it did not make this dish any less yummy. Crispy hashbrown on disk shaped. Every part was great. 5/5 stars. The best Crab Benedict I've had and I've had quite a few. The waffle in the Chicken and Waffle was very crispy but at the same time almost flaky. It was not the dense fluffy type but it was easy to eat. It's like a cross between a croissant and waffle. The syrup was lighter than the thick pancake syrup. The waffle is 5/5 stars. The Chicken part of this dish is basically like a Taiwanese popcorn chicken that you can get from a boba place. Bite sized dark meat chicken battered and fried. Served with Sriracha mayo type sauce and syrup. 3/4 stars. The Stuffed French Toast tasted like lemon meringue pie. Sweet lemony filling. The French Toast itself was fluffy but at the same time nicely soaked in custard. Slight cinnamon flavor. It came with a thick slice of bacon which is more like a slice of grilled pork belly that was buttery and umami. 4/5 stars. The Pipikaula Ribs plate had 3 slices of bone in short ribs, kimchee fried rice and two over medium eggs. The short ribs were grilled and looked like the sweet Korean BBQ short ribs but it's more savory with peppery flavor rather than sweet. Tender meat. The genorously portioned Kimchee rice was mostly spicy. 3.5/5 stars because the Kimchee was too spicy to fully enjoy the dish. The Flatbread appetizer had a good amount of mozzarella cheese melted on top soft fluffy flatbread with salty prosciutto slice in between. Topped with perfectly poached egg. Wish they offer fountain soda vs bottled ones. Each dish was eye so pleasing that couldn't wait to dig into it as soon as they landed on the table. Staff, Anna Lisa, was very pleasant and just made us felt comfortable; which was important because it's our first time dining here. Nice comfortable dining room with high ceiling and big windows. Great food with quality ingredients and thoughtfully put together menu, welcoming staff, relaxed ambiance. Will definitely return.

Love the decor/design and vibes (music/theme). Service was great! Helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The bartenders are really serving up crafted cocktails. We ordered the following: -Start Me Up, my partner loved this. He is an espresso drinker and love the flavor profile -Like A Virgin, this is on the sweeter side but the prosecco side car really balances it out -So Fresh, So Clean: normally comes with tequila but I swapped for vodka and it was very refreshing -Davis In My Bones, partner loved this This place turns into a club at 9:30, so there are plenty of options depending on your mood! Come check it out!

This is definitely not a happy hour or "let's grab a drink" place. It opens at 6pm, and on a…read moreThursday at 6pm on the dot, I was offered only a bar seat without having a reservation. No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.
