Stopped by for chai with a coworker and we weren't too adventurous. I tried kadak chai and my colleague got a rose chai. Chai was fine and it was nice to sit outside and catch up over chai. The ambiance / experience was lacking but it's hard to put my finger on exactly what. Maybe looking for more of a cafe vibe, with people hanging out and drinking beverages, or simple Indian snacks to go with (for purchase) the chai. And here's a good menu picture as I couldn't find one on Yelp.

Inside
Iniyai T.

Firstly, the menu is too confusing. It has a very very wide variety of cuisines, but nothing hits the spot. The place was well decorated with a lot of Indian references, though What caught my nose when I entered is the smell. It smells moist, reminds me of mold. We ordered the rose chai and Dubai pistachio tea with almond milk. The tea was too strong in both the drinks and the flavor was not too prominent. We had a bun muska which had too much oil. It didn't even taste like butter.. the service was also quite slow even though there were not many people.

Strawberry Bingsoo

New place in Sunnyvale downtown. Took a bit of a wait to get our dessert , but was glad to have tried this new place. The bingsoo shaved ice cream was SUPER fluffy vanilla snow! Strawberries were fresh and our kids were fans of the sprinkles. The ratio of strawberry to vanilla snow was a bit off, I think due to the depth of the serving bowl , we had a lot of vanilla snow left even after trying to distribute the strawberry/ice cream as we went. Will try their chocolate one next time. There are a lot of chai options on the menu I'll try in the future. Heads up - the aroma is in your face chai loveliness, but if chai aromas aren't your thing there are tables you can eat at outside in the pedestrian area. If you are looking for a place to work, they have free WiFi and strips of outlets at a long table facing the window! Likely a lovely place to work if you like chai spice smells!

We only stopped here for chai after dinner. The place has a cool vibe. Service was friendly but it takes long to get the chai. They do the whole process only after you order. The karak chai was a bit too milky for me.

Thai tea and strawberry matcha
Mikaela A.

Me and my friend went to try it out since the inside looks so cute, but damn save your money don't even bother to go. The drinks taste like straight up condensed milk. It's so sweet that it'll give you a headache and my throat hurts from just one sip because of how sweet it was you can't even taste Thai tea or matcha nor strawberry.

Maggi Vegetable
Neeti P.

*Vegetarian Foodie Review* Biggest mistake ever! We were craving something super light for a late lunch and randomly ended up at this place. It was super unorganized.. my gut told me not to order from here after looking at all the chaos in the cafe. I somehow decided to ignore that and ended up ordering anyway since we were super hungry. - Tandoori Paneer Sandwich: 2.5/5 - The paneer itself was neither marinated nor cooked. It felt like the paneer was just cut and put in the sandwich, which is a major turnoff for something called "tandoori paneer". The chutneys in the sandwich were flavorful. It was decent enough that we could at least eat it. - Maggi Vegetable: 1/5 - Major disaster!! First of all, they gave us Maggi without any vegetables and when we pointed it out, they switched it to one with veggies. I can make better Maggi than them! How can someone ever mess up Maggi? They didn't have to do much... just add the masala packet that comes with it and some veggies. The Maggi had no flavor at all, noodles and veggies with zero taste, not even the masala. - Bun Jam: 1/5 - How can you mess this up? I ordered this for my 4-year-old, and it came smoking hot... felt like the jam was heated up like crazy, with smoke coming out of the bun. I literally had to tell my 4-year-old to please trash it, and we left the place. We ended up only finishing the paneer sandwich we ordered. The remaining dishes we just trashed (didn't even box them up). I don't think we are coming here again. You can complain when one dish goes wrong, when multiple dishes go wrong then something is wrong with the place, not just few items!!

Sev Puri, Tulsi Chai, Paan Chai
Sreenidhi V.

Unique chai flavors, we tried the paan chai and the tulsi chai and really liked them both. Nicely flavored. We also tried the sev puri, cripsy puris with sev and some dahi and chutney. Well made, we enjoyed our time there

samosa chaat mango lassi
Stephen L.

I walked in to this cafe on a hungry whim for a snack. The staff who took my order was very helpful when I asked about various menu items. I ended up having the samosa chaat and a mango lassi. The food and drink were both delicious. Their lassi had a pleasant and smooth drinkable yogurt texture, punctuated by its tart and sweet flavor. It was my first time having samosa with cool (but not cold) yogurt topping, and I enjoyed the experience. I would definitely come back to try out more of their menu and chill in the nice window-side bar!

We had dinner here for the very first time, this evening…read more They are located in downtown Sunnyvale on Murphy St. There is a parking garage a few blocks up and an open parking lot right by Murphy Street. When we arrived, the place was empty, but it began to fill up after we were seated. A kind young man showed us to a table and brought us menus and some water. It's beautiful inside. It's a long and narrow space and they have plenty of seating options for small and large groups. The chairs are covered in soft colorful velvet. They were very comfortable to sit in. There is a beautiful painting of a young woman wearing traditional clothing. There is a full bar with seating at the counter. The chandeliers are gorgeous and I loved the colorful umbrellas hanging upside down from the ceiling. Our waiter, Shreeshant, was beyond friendly. He was so kind and attentive to our needs. He gave us some recommendations for appetizers, which I really appreciated. We ordered the Chicken Tandoori Momo's (6 per order), per his recommendation. We also ordered the veggie samosas (2 per order). For our mains we ordered the Dum Biryani with shrimp, chicken korma, eggplant curry and butter naan. I really loved that you can customize your heat level with all the main dishes. We ordered all our dishes mild spice. First to come out was the Chicken Tandoori Momos and the veggie samosa. The momos came out sizzling on a cast iron skillet with onions and peppers underneath them. These came with a mild sauce to accompany them. The samosas came with three different sauces. The sauces were tamarind, mint and a spicy sauce. My favorite was the chicken momos. They were so flavorful from the inside to the outside. They have a tandoori flavor on the exterior and the sauce that it came with paired well with it. The samosas were also very good. I liked the mint sauce best, with the samosas. My husband liked the spicy sauce. I would definitely order both of these again. Next our main dishes came out. They also gave us some plain basmati rice with our food. The dum biryani with shrimp was so good. It's a very large portion. The shrimp were delicious. The chicken korma was creamy and rich from the pureed cashews. It went great with the naan. The eggplant curry was the most mild out of all the dishes. There were three cooked baby eggplants in a coconut curry sauce. I would say the sauce had more of a coconut flavor that stood out. It was good. The naan went well with everything really. We couldn't finish all that we ordered. We were given takeout boxes for our leftovers. We will be eating very good again with these leftovers. I really love their menu here. It's extensive with many different offerings. A big thank you to the staff for their excellent hospitality. We look forward to returning for more meals.

Service was good. Curry was creamy and went great with the complimentary rice. More chicken than expected in biryani which tasted great with raita. It was clean and not too loud.

I ordered dinner from Naan n Masala the other week and was sadly very disappointed. I tried their…read moregarlic naan, plain naan, butter chicken, paneer tikka masala, mix pakora, and paneer pakora. The naan was very underwhelming. It didn't taste fresh and the quality was bad. It was also very thin. The garlic naan didn't have fresh garlic, it seemed to be the pre-minced garlic preserved in lemon juice that you can buy in bulk, and it was burnt on top of the bread. I'm thinking they take frozen naan, spread the preserved minced garlic on top, and throw it on a grill to char it. The flavor of the curries was good, but they were extremely greasy. So greasy that when I tried to scoop some up with the naan, it all slipped off and just left the grease on the bread lol. The paneer pakora was pretty good, crispy, and came with a delicious sauce (a chutney of some sort I think). The mix pakora was soggy and flavorless, and we ended up throwing it out. The price for food at this place is on par with or more expensive than other similar restaurants in the area, but the food quality is poor. Hopefully they improve, but for now I'd say skip it.
