I have read some of the other reviews (negative) but my HOA recommended this company and because I live in Spicewood, I would prefer someone local. For the service I needed, they were amazing! I was adding a cold water tap for filtered cold water. I had the hole drilled in the countertop and just needed someone to install and split our water line. The facet was in a hard to reach area and I just didn't want to make any mistakes so I called SP and they were able to schedule me for a visit in just a few days. They gave me a time frame and they are great about communication. They sent me a text the day before to remind me of the appointment and the technician sent me a few text messages letting me know he was on his way about how long it would take for him to arrive. Calvin was my technician and when he arrived, I showed him what I needed and right away he went to work. Overall, it might have taken an hour and when he was finished, he showed me the work he did and everything was working perfectly. I know many people might have done this job themselves but I just didn't want any hassles and preferred to have someone who knows what they are doing, someone who does work like this every day. They are very professional, it was easy to schedule an appointment and the prices are fair. I would highly recommend them for any plumbing needs. read more

They came by, assessed the situation, and quickly determined the source of the problem. AWFUL experience in early February. I was quoted $185 an hour labor. I provided the tankless hot water unit and some other parts. They charged me $1,400 for a residential call for a four hour visit (There was an additional $850 for extending a gas line which I do not dispute.). The explanation of the service man in charge was that there was a two man crew. That's completely ridiculous! I didn't want to be confrontational and trusted that it would be corrected by the office manager who I trusted from prior dealings. In mid February after numerous call, the office manager Laura agreed that I was overcharged $867 and was going to send me a check for that amount, To this day April 22 I've yet to receive the check or an answer to my attempts to reach the business. I considered suing them in small claims court but decided that passing on my story on social media and other contacts plus reporting them to the BBB would suffice. A week before engaging this plumbing service I sent photos to dispatcher and explained exactly what I needed in order for plumber to have with him the necessary parts to perform the job. I repeated myself couple diff times. I asked they not send a plumber without the necessary parts. Plumber arrived and had not seen photos and had none of the required materials or tools to effect the repairs. They therefore Left job and reappeared three hours later with parts and tools. It took them about an hours work once they arrived with the parts and tool but charged me for searching for materials and tools and over $800 later to install an upgraded Water softener. this repair was on a $4 million dollar house and the aesthetics of this workmanship was horrible. Something I would not have done to a homeless shelter. First and last time I will ever use Spicewood plumbing and will encourage our mgmt company for Our marina never to use them again either read more

The owner Tommy Quinn replaced it because it was under warranty but instead of compromising on labor charges since I had just had them install the first one he actually up charged. He charged me $425 for 1 1/2 hours of labor. He was very disrespectful and I will never use this company again. read more

I used to use Spicewood plumbing over several years until recently. Less than a year ago I had then do some work and estimate tankless water heaters. When I called them to schedule installing a water Filtration system and faucet I already purchased and to install the tankless water heaters they could not find any record of their estimate and then wanted to charge me again to estimate. I watched as the plumber glued one end of a 90 that was attached to a 3 1/2 " valve with a flange on the other end when he turned around the flange was not lined up with the flange he was bolting it to.. instead of pulling it of and getting it right he attached the flanges together and shimmed meter valve over with a shovel... I knew the pipe wouldn't hold and it didn't.. so what do they do? Instead of staying and fixing the job he leaves says he'll be back tomorrow with a clear head.... going on day 4 with no water for an entire townhouse complex... I wouldn't use them because they could give a crap about customers, a reputable plumber would have stayed pumped out the hole and redone the job, so the entire townhouse complex could have water tomorrow.. unprofessional at best read more

I've used Spicewood Plumbing for a couple years and been very satisfied...until today. The cold water faucet in the kitchen sink was difficult to turn on & off and the hot water faucet in a pedestal sink needed to be tightened. Neither job required any parts but it took TWO plumbers TWO hours to put grease on the cold water faucet and tighten the hot water faucet. Then they tried to charge me 2 1/2 hours for 2 hours of work. I no longer recommend Spicewood Plumbing. read more

She kept in touch with me throughout the day. They had a crazy day and her brother Rand came out in the spare truck on his wedding anniversary and missed some quality home time to get me taken care of. We have used Spicewood Plumbing several times in the past year since we purchased this home. Every single time they have been very responsive and provided excellent service. Today they went above and beyond. We have a home warranty and have been waiting 2 days with out water, for the warranty place to send someone out. Figuring that it would be another day without water we decided to just pay for it and call our trusty plumber. Despite being overwhelmingly busy they are coming out today. In my opinion, these people ripped me off. I called them on a Saturday about 4 PM and they said would send someone out to clear out my main drain. The woman said it would be $172.50 for the first hour and then mumbled something about a "travel charge" and 15%. The guy comes out and runs the snake even though the drain had cleared itself. He was here about 1/2 hour and the Bill was $308!!!!!!! I asked him how he had came up with this number since he didn't even bother to itemize it and he said they charge time and a half for Saturday and charged me that also for the time for him to drive over here!! I called office and explained a minor problem with a sink leaking under into cabinet. Told her she didn't have to rush but to please send someone out whenever possible. 45 mins later they were here and got the problem solved. Turns out it was a problem from the second floor and was draining into the pea trap under sink. Because they took their time they actually saved me $'s in not having to use a drywall co. Issue...after issue...after issue...poor follow-up and taking no ownership in addressing their less than professional work. Robert and his company did the plumbing for my new home. When we moved in, we found one issue after another...5 leaks in total. We ended up having to get another plumber to repair 4 of the issues...2 of which required cutting into our recently finished walls to repair them. Only after threatening to go to the BBB did he come out. He fixed one issue, a poorly seated bathtub drain that took him 15 minutes to repair. A while later we found another leak from an upstairs bath that guests used, leaking down into our media room. Robert 2 times said that he would come out to address it but never showed up, then went dark on us. He still has not responded and we will be getting another plumber out to fix. In all, there have been 2 bathtub leaks causing damage, 2 in-wall shower leaks and an icemaker drain-line leak. He may be able to fix simple things, but I wish we did not use him to plumb our home. read more
