I've been looking for a healthy delicious food spot like Spice Black for a while. I've been either able to find places healthy but not delicious, and delicious but not healthy. But with Spice Black I've experienced both healthy and delicious. I've had the 'BBQ Southern Soul', 'Cajun Jambalaya', and the "BBQ Chickpea Ranch" and everything was great, fresh, flavorful, with healthy portions the filled me up. also you can forget the freshly made drinks perfectly made in different flavors. Even though the line was long due to it being a high traffic food spot, I was in and out. When I asked for extra sauce there was no problem and no hassle for extra cost. 5 stars and will definitely be returning!! This place is amazing!!!! Not only because it is Black owned but also because it truly is amazing and tasty! It quickly became my go to lunch spot since I discovered it last month. The customer service is top notch and that matters to us customers. You can have a great establishment but when you have nasty employees, it keeps us away but this team truly understands world class service. I've always had great interactions with Kanye and Jimi since they're the ones whose names I could remember at the momentbut I have not had a single negative interaction with anyone. We love this place. This is our new go to now when we want something fast and healthy but still with lots of flavor. The staff is nice and the place is clean. The one thing I'm not crazy about is that it's so cute inside you want to stay and eat, but in the winter it's just too cold from the door opening all the time. My husband got the Jambalaya Etouffee. I highly recommend mixing before eating because the spice in my bowl wasn't evenly distributed with the way the food is layered. I was really excited to try Spiced Black and have been three times since opening. Finally a healthier fast food option in Largo besides Cava. My first two visits my bowls were delicious. My favorite protein is the grilled chicken. The sofrito sauce is my favorite sauce. I enjoy the jollof rice even though it is not authentic. The mural is beautiful. My issue is the customer service or lack there of. The guys on the line are either annoyed you're deciding how to build your bowl, confused or distracted. My most recent visit I was really excited to try the BBQ chickpeas but unfortunately they were inedible. The flavor was there but they were either not cooked long enough or dried out from sitting on the food line for hours. The grilled chicken had no flavor this time and the food portions are not consistent. It depends who builds your bowl. Also, the young man who made my bowl answered his cell phone mid way with his gloves on and questioned my choice of toppings. The customer service has turned me off from returning. I advise management to schedule customer service training for all front of house staff. read more

I have tried two of their dishes. The BBQ soul bowl and the Sweet Potato Collard Green Pesto....they were both very tasty. I was nervous to try something new after the soul bowl but I was pleasantly surprised as it did not disappoint. Also very clean, I saw the counter being wiped and she stopped to help me which I don't tend to like because your gloves were just wiping down the counter with whatever chemicals ...however she caught herself after pulling gloves she put them down and washed her hands and then put them on.. This place is a hidden gem. I just found out about this place last week and while in the area I made sure to give it a try. All I can say is Wow this place is nice and the workers were very helpful. The guy behind the counter said this place was similar to Chipotle. That was a very wrong statement because this place far exceeds Chipotle. The choices had me in Awe. There were so many things to choose from that he had to help me by explaining the choices. He filled my bowl and when I got to the register the cashier was also helpful in making sure I had everything I needed then some. To explain why this place deserves a 10 out of 10 is when I got home with the food it was so good that I was impressed by the freshness and seasoning of the food. I live an hour away but I will for sure return on a weekend. Not sure if this place is family owned or franchised but there are other cities that will be perfect for this place.
