Valley Wings

Best Wings in Baton Rouge. Top of the class…read more Great Service. Nice ambiance. Just the Best wings in Baton Rouge, NO question.

On our mini BR trip my friend and I were searching for a place to eat and Valley Wings was a place…read moreclose by that popped up on Yelp. They did not disappoint at all. The service was great (S/o to Macy and the man at the front counter who I'm assuming is the owner). When I asked for more information on certain flavors and how good they were, the server was extremely honest especially when it came to the valley bread. The owner also gave us free samples of the valley bread (first picture below) which is a fresh garlic and Parmesan bread. The vibes were definitely there. Back to the Future and Jurassic Park were playing on the tv, and the writing on the walls gave a unique touch. It kept us entertained by reading different names and sayings. NOW TO THE FOOD!! The pink lemonade was good. It wasn't overly sweet which I love. The kool-aid (not pictured),on the other hand, could have used more sugar personally. There was also blue raspberry lemonade which we didn't try. I appreciated that these drinks were additional options besides the traditional coke products that they do have. The death valley meal was a 12 wing combo w/ fries and a drink. My friend decided on garlic parmesan and the valley sauce as her two flavors. The valley sauce was a light, sticky bbq sauce. It was amazing compared to traditional bbq sauced wings. The sauce wasn't over powering like traditional bbq sauce making the eating experience way better. Now that garlic parmesan?!!! Nothing like wingstop for sure. It's hard to explain but it taste exactly like garlic and parmesan. It doesn't taste fake like other garlic parmesan flavors. One thing I really appreciate about this business is their use of fresh garlic because it's not hard to miss. It adds an extra spark to their dishes. My 10 piece combo with half lemon pepper and honey hot was equally amazing. That flavor was unexplainable!! Usually when I get honey hot (or hot honey) it's always too sweet with no kick. Valley Wings honey hot was a perfect mix of both. The "kick" really got my friend, but for a regular spice consumer this would be great for you. The lemon pepper in my option lacked. I don't know if they didn't put enough season on it or my taste buds were off from the other previous flavors, but I barely tasted any lemon pepper. It was still good chicken but the flavor wasn't present. The regular and Cajun fries had a nice crunch to them but nothing special. They do offer a lot of loaded fry options that looked and sound amazing like chicken Alfredo, Cajun shrimp Alfredo, etc. Definitely another BR go-to restaurants on my list. Pink lemonade: 8/10 Garlic Parmesan: 9.5/10 Valley sauce: 8.5/10 Lemon pepper: 5/10 Honey hot: 9/10 Cajun fries: 5/10

Very interested to see how this place works when it's busy. But more on that later…read more Like half of the folks who have reviewed I had sweet heat and lemon pepper wings and fries. Fries were salted with some Cajun spice mix. They could have gone lighter but the fries weren't greasy so no points off from me. The wings were good. Just the right size so you don't have to worry how pumped up on steroids the chickens were before they gave their life for our consumption. Skin was crispy. The spices/sauces were delicious especially the sweet heat, such a nice sneaky little heat. So back to my initial thought it did take some time for the food to come although there were on three other tables. Not a full down of the game but some time. Also they could have been slammed with mobile orders. Who knows? Food was fresh and hot so I am willing to go again but I feel like if I walked in and it was busy and I was hungry I would walk out.

I was really craving wings so my husband & I decided to go to KOK wings. We anticipated a packed…read morehouse due to it being a Saturday night but it was a complete ghost town. That didn't bother me though because that meant our food came out faster and not a loud atmosphere. We both got lemon pepper & sweet heat wings with loaded fries. It gave everything I needed them to! Def the wing fix I needed. We also had a cocktail/ cant beat $6 cocktails regular price! I had a BNasty (rum, mango, pineapple & grenadine) it was GOOD & gave me the little buzz I was looking for.

I was in town this past weekend to catch up with friends and family before the holidays. My Uber…read moredriver recommended a new place that opened up on Lee that had just what I was looking for, after telling him that after moving to Seattle it was the one thing I missed: Good. Fried. Food. I knew the moment I walked in that it was going to be good. It was a no non-sense, simple setup with a cashier, an extensive menu on the wall (very good prices by the way), and a heated bar setup that drew my attention immediately. Nothing more, nothing less. In today's world where for many new establishments, it feels like all the budget goes to marketing with paid influencers on socials to draw in customers, most times I feel the food falls short and underwhelming. I can taste the effort put into the food here at Lee's. The hot bar had all of your classic staples, freshly fried. As I walked in, they replenished the trays more as they were running low from the customers in front of me. I could hear the fryers hard at work the entire time I was there. I found out that some things are also actually cooked to order. The staff were very friendly. I made sure to try a bit of everything I've been craving since I moved away - Fried chicken, pork cracklings, chicken cracklings, and even the egg roll since it had just came right out from the kitchen fresh and I had to get some. Everything was seasoned well and had that crunchy, crispy bite I was looking for. My cracklin crave was satisfied. Definitely going to make sure I stop by anytime I'm in town. I'm so glad the area has been seeing a lot of development with lots of new food options and I hope it continues. In the vast sea of fried chicken businesses in Baton Rouge, Lee's really stood out to me. Really wished they had opened up while I was still here! Highly recommend.

Lee Drive just got another a new spot to the Baton Rouge fried chicken roster…read more This chicken was crispy, hot, and seasoned! Definitely a nice one to join the fried chicken crew. They also rotate red beans (Sunday-Monday) and fried rice (Tuesday-Saturday). The rice was a little salty this visit but still not shabby. Really affordable and great chicken means I'll be back.
