On our mini BR trip my friend and I were searching for a place to eat and Valley Wings was a place close by that popped up on Yelp. They did not disappoint at all. The service was great (S/o to Macy and the man at the front counter who I'm assuming is the owner).When I asked for more information on certain flavors and how good they were, the server was extremely honest especially when it came to the valley bread. The owner also gave us free samples of the valley bread (first picture below) which is a fresh garlic and Parmesan bread. The vibes were definitely there. Back to the Future and Jurassic Park were playing on the tv, and the writing on the walls gave a unique touch. It kept us entertained by reading different names and sayings. NOW TO THE FOOD!! The pink lemonade was good. It wasn't overly sweet which I love. The kool-aid (not pictured),on the other hand, could have used more sugar personally. There was also blue raspberry lemonade which we didn't try. I appreciated that these drinks were additional options besides the traditional coke products that they do have. The death valley meal was a 12 wing combo w/ fries and a drink. My friend decided on garlic parmesan and the valley sauce as her two flavors. The valley sauce was a light, sticky bbq sauce. It was amazing compared to traditional bbq sauced wings. The sauce wasn't over powering like traditional bbq sauce making the eating experience way better. Now that garlic parmesan?!!! Nothing like wingstop for sure. It's hard to explain but it taste exactly like garlic and parmesan. It doesn't taste fake like other garlic parmesan flavors. One thing I really appreciate about this business is their use of fresh garlic because it's not hard to miss. It adds an extra spark to their dishes. My 10 piece combo with half lemon pepper and honey hot was equally amazing. That flavor was unexplainable!! Usually when I get honey hot (or hot honey) it's always too sweet with no kick. Valley Wings honey hot was a perfect mix of both. The "kick" really got my friend, but for a regular spice consumer this would be great for you. The lemon pepper in my option lacked. I don't know if they didn't put enough season on it or my taste buds were off from the other previous flavors, but I barely tasted any lemon pepper. It was still good chicken but the flavor wasn't present. The regular and Cajun fries had a nice crunch to them but nothing special. They do offer a lot of loaded fry options that looked and sound amazing like chicken Alfredo, Cajun shrimp Alfredo, etc. Definitely another BR go-to restaurants on my list. I want to start by saying this restaurant is in an awkward place on highland, but they do a good job making you feel welcomed and safe. This place is also a new small business that opened in the fall of 2020. I bought the chicken Alfredo fries (because it was to expensive to get specialty friends and wings for on person) and the friend I went with got the daily special which was 8.99 for 5 wings, fries, special bread, and a drink (you can not swap or get an up charge to switch to specialty fries). All and all everything was good, but there are definitely various things I would have like to see done differently. read more

I have not been in the wing tasting business long since I am a picky eater, however Empire Wingz made me start liking wings. Ok, which business am I reviewing again?? The point is that yelp review was dare I say...correct. I tried the 5 piece BBQ wings (all drums). Along with the chicken Alfredo fries. It was SO good. The BBQ sauce is sticky and is coated perfectly with extra sauce at the bottom of the to go box. I found my self still eating the sauce after the wings were gone. Finally got to try this new wing spot in Baton Rouge this past weekend. I went there on a Friday evening and they weren't super busy which was nice. The cashier was very nice and helpful; always a plus. I got the 10 piece with 2 flavors; valley BBQ and lemon pepper. Now I'm very particular when it comes to my wings. I would definitely recommend them. The sauces were flavorful but not overpowering. I did wish they marinated the wings in the flavor as I couldn't taste any flavor once I bit in. My favorite local business to support! Valley Wings hasn't been around too long, but they add something to the North Side of LSU's campus that had been sorely lacking. The quality of the food is superb. Blows other wing places out the water. I've never had a small wing from Valley! The boneless wings here are HUGE- like, half a tender of meat! And the coating on them is perfect. It's the right ratio of meat to breading, and they drown them in whatever sauce you order. They do NOT skimp on stuff here! And they always show you your food before they give it to you. That's how you know they care about their customers. Eating Valley Wings last week was life changing. I've been looking for a reliable wing spot since I've moved to Baton Rouge 4 years ago and I think I've found my go-to! The chicken isn't filled with hormones and it's quality chicken through and through. The customer service was great. Lowkey a waste of money. I had it for the first time yesterday and was not impressed at all. I ordered the tenders with Korean BBQ & Sweet Chili sauces. The Korean BBQ sauce tasted like soup unfortunately. Both sauces also tasted like they came straight from the bottle. No extra seasonings or anything. Just chicken smothered in massive amounts of sauce. The fries were good though. A little salty, but still good. I also ordered their bread. I thought I was gonna be cheese bread with mozzarella or something from how the pic looked. It wasn't it was kinda of like a pita with a TON of grainy tasting parmesan. I've only ordered this through Waitr but I am swept away each time. I always hesitate to get fried food or wings from a delivery service because of it getting soggy and every single time it has been absolutely perfect. Valley BBQ is my fave but also the only one I've tried so far so I may be bias... I have Cajun, honey hot, sweet teriyaki, and sweet chili otw as we speak! I've only eaten here once, and that was this pat Saturday 5/27/23. The woman who worked the counter was warm and friendly. I had to wait, but my food was hot and tasty. I got the Death Valley meal with tenders. Their sauces are good. I had the Jamaican Jerk, Honey Hot, and Sweet Chili sauces on my tenders. I had fries with bacon, cheese, and Korean BBQ sauce. They don't melt the cheese on the fries is the only drawback, but flavors were there. The bacon was plentiful and is chopped up to a manageable size for your fork. I may try the wings next time, but the tenders were good. The macadamia white chocolate chip cookie was phenomenal. The blue raspberry house made drink was very good. I'd eat here again. I just didn't know their hours. I knew they were open because my best friend used to get their wings during the pandemic. I've come to Valley wings three times over the past two weeks. The wings are excellent. However, the disposition of the young ladies behind the counter is horrible. I don't need anyone to smile at me or to give me a fake greetings, however, being personable is a really good thing. Moreover, I'm constantly told that my wait time is 10 to 15 minutes. Each time I've waited at least 30. I called in and order the last time and waited 43 minutes. The excuse I received was they were short staffed and they could have closed but they decided to stay open. I do not care about that. If the average wait time for the day is 30 to 40 minutes, tell me 30 to 40 minutes. The wings are so good I would gladly wait that. However, I am now inclined to never return. read more
