Ate so much, I don't think I've yet expelled everything that I stuffed into myself. Hot pot is a lovely way to eat with friends and family, when you want to make a real event out of it. We sat here for hours, eating all kinds of things. The thought of it, as I write this has made me hungry again. Meat, seafood, and vegetables boiled in a soup sounds healthy, but expect to eat a lot when you sit down for hot pot. Its never a quick, small meal. I have no complaints about this place. We enjoyed it!

Long time no post! Let me take you to MY NEW GO TO HOTPOT AND SKEWER PLACE IN RICHMOND BC. Now they aren't new to Richmond but it's sure new to me and probably new to a lot of you! They are hidden in plain sight right on Alexandra rd. This place specializes in delicious hotpot and skewers! * Not to mention they close at midnight and have 1/2 price sake for all my fellow drinkers . * Their soup base is amazing here, ultra flavourful and delicious. It's fragrant and we got their: - Preserved egg and parsley (wish there was more preserved egg tho) 8/10. - Spiceworld special spicy soup 10/10. The Spiceworld spicy soup is amazing and 10/10 recommend. All my mala lovers this is for you! * Their skewers were also super good (honestly surprised how good and juicy each was). Nothing was dry or disappointing. The flavours were all there. - chicken wing skewer 7/10. - Chicken knee skewer 10/10. - Beef skewer 8/10. - Lamb skewer 8/10. * Their meats were also super delicious, they were tender and ultra delicious. The portions of the meat also surprised me. The meat balls were a must too I love the cheese stuffed beef one! - hand cut premium beef 10/10. - Triple A angus beef 8/10. - Assorted meat balls 10/10. * Also got: - veggie platter 9/10. - Fish tofu 9/10. * 9/10 ~ honestly super content that there is a place with skewers and hotpot this place gets rowdy! I can see why their late night is a crowd fav! The hotpot was my highlight.

One of my favorite hotpot place in Richmond. Very spacious, lots of ingredients for making your own sauce, and 2 big vip rooms for private functions. The fatty beef is simply the best, melt in your mouth so tender and juicy. We had the live geoduck sashimi and used half for hotpot it's was very good. Friendly and attentive servers and I love the fact they open late till 2am!

This restaurant may not look much from the outside but the interior has a great presence. The decor and the layout is just impeccable. It will be great to take a first date but also ideal for big groups. The service is also very classy. The servers remind me of French maitre'd who are always there to answer every question and to make sure you know exactly what you need to do. There is a small menu for individual meals. It seems skewers are quite popular here. There are other dishes that are served but our main concern is for the hot pot. We were given a bigger menu for the hot pot. You'll have given a dry erase marker to check what you want from the smaller(individual) menu. For the hot pot, you can choose a fixed menu in which a broth is set and meat, seafood and noodles are set. What we chose to do is customize our hot pot. Our server mentioned we can do half and half of each broth (certain broth only) and higher priced one will be the price. We decided to go for the tomato basil and chicken with sake. I can't quite recall which meat we chose but there is pork belly, 2 kinds of beef (rib eye), 2 orders of meatballs (seafood variety & cheese) and fresh instant noodles. Ideally, it's good to choose something that cooks fast. Udon and glass noodle fans may have to wait a little longer to enjoy their noodles. The restaurant has a condiment section close to the bar. There's chili powder, garlic green onions and all kinds of sauces you can add to tweak your broth. My huuuuge suggestion is DON'T put anything in your bowl you're not familiar with. Put it on the plate you're provided with to try it first. Our experience here is great! The servers were so attentive. What I didn't understand is why the servers added more broth when ours hit boiling point- why not just turn down the flame. I was assuming it will ruin the taste but it didn't. It remained tasty. Also, there were bits and pieces of chicken, beef and shellfish plus aromatics on the bottom of the broth. Fish them out and enjoy them. Chopsticks may not be your friend if you want to enjoy the beef bones. I highly recommend this place and we will surely return.

I don't know where all these good reviews come from? I came here after reading the reviews (with four and a half stars you'd expect this place to be worth a try). First off, everything on the menu is over priced, food was mediocre at best. The service is what I'm really upset about. We ordered a curry cuttlefish and the onions inside were straight up raw, the cuttlefish was uncooked as well. We told the waitress about it but she wasn't even apologetic about our experience, sent it back to the kitchen until I reminded her about it. We asked for more soup in our hot pot and the waiter straight up poured water into the pot. Okay, I'm no hot pot expert maybe that's how they do it here. But the second time we asked he came with soup and added soup to it...hmm at least keep it consistent. And playing children songs in the background really didn't help the experience! Never in the world would I have thought I'd ever be eating hot pot with a children's soundtrack playing in the background. Please don't come here, you're better off buying some ingredients cooking it at home or dining at any other hot pot place in Richmond

Great hotpot, just next to our hotel. Very lively crowd, could come here every week, if it wasn't a 3.5 hour drive.

This place makes the best Sichuan dry pot (麻辣香锅) that we have ever tried. Very nice services. Highly recommended!

I liked their AYCE menu and had been wanting to come back, only to find out when we sat down that…read moreAYCE was no longer available. Huge bummer. We arrived around 9 PM and stood at the entrance for 3-5 minutes while multiple staff walked past us without any acknowledgment. Most tables were empty, so it wasn't clear whether we were supposed to seat ourselves. I eventually had to stop someone, who then brushed us off and grabbed someone else instead. After sitting down, I asked about AYCE and was told it was discontinued in October 2025. The waiter mentioned happy hour and said we could get an extra discount with a student ID, but when we showed our U.S. student IDs, they wouldn't accept them. Lame, but whatever. The price is acceptable during happy hour. The seats are uncomfortable, and the kitchen was very loud that night. The floor vibrated on and off throughout our meal. The biggest issue: bugs. They clearly know it's a problem since there's a small fan over the sauce station to keep the bugs away, but it didn't help. We found a dead bug in the sauce we made before dipping our food. There were also bugs flying over our food the entire time (see photos). That alone is unacceptable. Food came out almost instantly after ordering on our phones. Impressively fast. Everything tasted good, but I wouldn't order the spicy broth again. I know that's the style, but even at one-star spice it was extremely oily and overpowering for me. Another ongoing annoyance was staff constantly messing with our stove. On both visits, we ordered multiple broths. The spicy broth boiled aggressively because of all the oil, while the non-spicy broth barely simmered. We didn't like the spicy broth at all and just wanted the non-spicy one hot enough to actually cook food. Every time I turned up the heat, staff immediately turned it back down because the spicy broth was boiling. As a result, the non-spicy broth never properly boiled the entire meal, and our food was likely undercooked. Extremely frustrating. Last time we came, we got complimentary ice cream at the end. This time, we didn't. I assumed they stopped offering it, but based on other recent reviews, they just didn't give us one. I'm not coming back until AYCE is back and the bug problem is actually fixed.

This was a very spacious hot pot restaurant, though I would recommend having a reservation. You scan a QR code and order from your phone (there is free wifi). The food was good, just another solid hot pot place. The broth was really spicy so beware! We ended the meal with complimentary black sesame ice cream which was a fun bonus!

We've discovered an authentic Chengdu-style hot pot where everything is on skewers -- meat,…read moreveggies, you name it! It was our first time trying Chengdu hotpot 成都火鍋( (aka Sichuan hotpot 四川火鍋), and we did some homework beforehand. Chengdu hotpot stands out for its aromatic, complex flavours and less oily broth than the Chongqing style. Yuan's Hot Pot 袁记串串香 nailed it! We ordered COMBO A ($83.99), meant for two, but honestly, it feels like a feast for three. What's in COMBO A? ~ 50+ skewers packed with meat and veggies ~ Dual broth: House Special Spicy ~ Soup Base & Pork Bone Soup Base ~ Sweet potato vermicelli ~ 2x House Special Dipping Sauces The spicy broth was bold and flavorful without being overwhelming, and the variety of skewers kept things exciting. Their signature dipping sauce with Yuan's Hot Pot Sesame Oil is a game-changer -- so fragrant and not greasy. Yuan's Hot Pot 袁记串串香 brings the bold, authentic flavours of Chengdu straight to Richmond. We've fallen in love with Chengdu-style hotpot and can't wait to return to try more! Highly recommend! Food: 5/5 Must Try! Service: 5/5 Kids: 4/5 Yay! Yuan's Hot Pot is located in the Aberdeen Mall so plenty of free parking which is always a plus…read more It is clean with high ceilings and pretty good ventilation which is needed as...we are doing hot pot. We went with 1/2 soup base and 1/2 extra spicy. And the extra spicy is definitely spicy...no need to add any dipping sauces with that base. Ordered a variety of proteins and vegetables. I liked that most of the items were on skewers which made getting it out of the base much easier. I did find the beef overly salted. And I really enjoyed the corn on the cob. Service was great and definitely needed a shower and a change of clothes after dinner. They were having a buy one get one free anniversary promotion. You can return and have the same items ordered for free on your next visit. It is a pretty good promotion. It was a positive food experience.
