Reservations are probably required for busy times but we were able to walk in at about 530pm on a weekday and half the restaurant was empty Took us a while to get seated because the manager was busy on the phone which was annoying. We ordered their Triple Szechwan and at first it came out cold and extremely spicy. So we requested that they remake it and owner made sure it came out correctly spiced and hot second time around. The flavors were really good (albeit lacking salt sometimes) so we'll be back to try their other North Indian dishes as well. read more

Decided to try it. Both dishes tasteless. Lamb was chewy and the veg korma had no flavor whatsoever. I typically don't tell the waiter how bad the food is as your always taking risks when trying a new place. Well this was so small portion and so lacking in flavor that upon asking if it's good I kindly and accurately replied absolutely not. She didn't bother to address it as they know the place is trash. Restaurants on restaurant row are historically bad in midtown but as a person who wishes every business to succeed , I am not in favor of this success and the reviews are all fraudulent and paid that say otherwise. Chinese Bhel: A unique take on those crispy Indian snacks, this time with Chinese noodles. The texture was a bit too shattering for my tastes, but I appreciated the uniqueness. Gobi Manchurian Dry: A big hit with the table. Kinda amazing that the lowly cauliflower could taste so good. Even better than chicken at some lesser Chinese joints. Paneer Schezwan: So I love Indo-Chinese paneer dishes and the taste here was really good. However, I probably should have gotten the dry version since it felt too soupy for my liking. The place quickly filled in after we were seated. A quiet little restaurant. Not a ton of seating. Families were in there with young children but it was not loud at all. This place is wonderful! The staff were all friendly, and service was quick. We ordered samosas for an appetizer which were cooked to perfection. The sauces that come with them were so fresh! We ordered some mixed drinks and they were not light on the alcohol! I ordered shrimp moilee which is a coconut based curry with shrimp. I had never had it before, but it sounded really good. It had a light spiciness to it but blew my expectations out of the water! I highly recommend if you want great Indian cuisine near Times Square/Broadway. Was looking for a place to grab a drink a quick bite before heading over to Radio City Music Hall. As we were walking along we passed this place and wanted to try it. The interior was lovely, warm and welcoming and we decided to sit at the bar. We ordered drinks.. I got this amazing masala salt with vodka and citronberry juice (I'm sorry, I can't remember the name) and it was one of the most interesting, tasty drinks I've ever had. Monica provided us with mini breadsticks and a chutney for a quick bite before our appetizers came. My husband ordered the tandoori wings and I had the mushrooms. OMG what a burst of flavor. Wow, this place was so good. I actually don't consider Indian food my favorite genre, but I have to rave about this place. To keep this brief - everything I ate was packed with delicious flavor. Shrimp for appetizer was incredibly delicious, the hot and sour soup to tackle the Chinese side of the menu was way better than expected, and the Sea Bass was plentiful and mouth-watering. And despite all the packed flavor and various strong spices, I did not have digestive problems afterwards. The ambiance was classy and service was great. Wandering in and out of Time Square restaurants without a reservation on a Saturday night. No luck . We were ready to get slices to go when we stepped into Spice Symphony. The manager, Rakesh, promised at least two seats at the bar, but after a 15 minute wait he arranged for us to sit a table. His hospitality and generosity continued with two appetizers on the house; a tower of Bombay Bhel Puri and chili chicken dry. The tower featured crispy puffed rice, cilantro, mint, onions and tamarind chutney. A balance of spice, sweetness, crisp and crunch, this homage to beachside street food is an overlooked favorite. The Indo-Chinese chili chicken had a moderate level of spice. Sautéed with onions and green peppers and a background of soy sauce, this dish was a perfect appetizer. My wife enjoyed the chicken tikka masala, tender and moist and accompanied by a bowl of warm basmati rice. Rakesh recommended I order the goat rajasthani lal Maas, a tasty and smoky stewed goat in a creamy sauce similar to curry but with every Indian spice from the cupboard. Sweet saffron and ginger garlic paste rounded out the complex flavors. A real winner on the menu! The choice of garlic naan was perfect for the dishes, but really any naan would be just right. Then, once we took even one or two sips of water they come to refill. I understand and have experienced lots of great service, but great service doesn't consist of constant hovering and walking over every 2 minutes while the customers are having a meal. Even while we were finishing up the meal they were ready to take the plates away to bring the bill. Overall made us feel uncomfortable. FOOD Now the food (as someone who specializes in Indian food) is a 5/10. The gravy in our dishes were done wrong, barely few pieces of paneer, and tasted canned. If you've okay with subpar Indian food or don't have an acquired taste for it, you may be okay in this department. However, the place has a nice ambiance and is clean. Visited here after a long day of walking around the city. It's a really cute little restaurant close to a bunch of tourist attractions. The chicken lollipop was delicious and the sauce that came with it was also really good. The place that I had initially wanted to try was not open until much later and Spice Symphony had been on my mind to try so I went there. I was seated immediately and water was brought to the table. It is a nice sized space, with a bar in the center of the room which had several patrons in deep conversation. The restroom, which I visited when I arrived was clean and orderly. I was given a menu but the restaurant is dark and there was not much overhead lighting. I had to get my phone out-votive candles on each table would help with this. After overcoming the lighting/menu problem, I decided on the chicken tikka masala and I got onion kulcha to go along with the meal. I began to occupy myself with my phone and before I knew it, my meal had arrived. The chicken tikka masala and the onion kulcha were steaming hot and this came along with a small vat of fluffy seasoned rice. The meal was excellent and there were multiple pieces of chicken-it was a substantial sized meal. It was very tasty and thoroughly filling. When asked about desert, I abstained since I usually do not do appetizers or deserts. The staff was pleasant, Rohit was my server. Pricewise, it is comprable to other restaurants in the area. On another note, they are several soup options, but no mullagatawny soup. What gives?! The vegetable pakora was a bit dry (the batter was too think and not rich enough for my taste). I also prefer when the veggies are shredded a mixed so that each fritter is a mélange of veggies vs each fritter only being one veggie. Paneer was very flavorful, with a nice taste of ginger.
