Wow! This was so, so cool. The ambiance is kind of a hole in the wall place, but the food was FANTASTIC. I felt like such a fatty afterwards. Never heard of this chain, but man I would come back again and again. The fries are really good, so are the samosas.

Chicken tikka masala naan

Totally get the hype of this place, it feels fast casual place. You can pick between a roti, naan, bowl or entree. I chose the chicken tikka masala with naan and you can choose to stuff your naan. Their popular one is cheese and garlic. For about $15, you get a pretty solid portion and the meal was very very comforting and delicious. Flavors were great and chicken was tender. Would come back again!

Mango Lassi

Great for late night munchies with a lot of flavor. It's Mexican-Indian fusion, with more emphasis on the Indian side. The Naan Tacos are a must! Cheesy Garlic Naan Taco w/ Paneer Tikka Masala: This was divine! It was like all my favorites in taco form. Love the fluffy cooked to order naan. It can totally stand up the generous amount of tikka masala, without breaking. The garlic add-on put a lot of flavor in it. The cheese add-on made it so there was gooey cheese on the bottom of the taco. And while I'm not a vegetarian, I totally could be if paneer was in every dish I ate. Love the stuff! Was a major cheese fiend with those squeaky chunks against the gooey cheese. Mango Lassi: They didn't offer tap water for free, which is so trifling. So I got the lassi. Was thick and yogurty, though a tad light on the mango flavor.

Taca Mahal is a great place for a quick snack, or even a full meal. Here, they combines tacos and classic Indian flavors, and the results are delicious! I had the three roti set. I ordered a chicken curry, lamb kabob, and a tikka masala. All three had great seasonings and spices. All three were very tasty. My single side of samosa was also great, especially with the accompanying sauce. So very good! I've been sampling different things on each visit, and I'll continue returning because every single thing I've had thus far has been great. If you like Indian seasonings and spices, then you're going to love this place. I look forward to my next visit.

It was just okay to be honest. A little overhyped. Def better spots in NYC for Indian food.

Samosa CHAAT

The food here surprised me pleasantly. The space itself is small with limited seating. I wish it was bigger because there's so many orders and so much business. The service was relatively quick despite the many orders. The samosa chaat was excellent! It wasn't too spicy but had authentic Indian taste The naan for the tacos is soft and fluffy! I loved the texture to hold the curries. The curries are a little sweet but taste good. One naan taco is also so fulfilling! I've been back and you HAVE to try the masala fries which are also excellent! Will definitely be going back

My friend recommended this place and woah woah! I'm going back every week. Probably one of the best meals I've had in New York City!

Great quick meal before watching a broadway show. Love the Mexican/indian fusion idea! There were 3 of us and We ordered the $18 meals and it was too much food for us as the portion sizes are very large. The chicken tikka masala and paneer tikka masala were excellent. The chicken malai kabob gravy was very good and unique. The onion pakora were large and tasted great! Masala fries were ok. The items probably taste the best if you eat it right away in the restaurant as it can get soggy with all of the gravy. Might try the roti tacos next time!

LAMB CURRY*

Clean small place in midtown west. We went here before we had to catch a bus from Port Authority. It wasn't too quick though so give yourself some time if you go. The food was very nice. The lamb curry was little spicy but the Kashmiri shrimp tacos were sweet and refreshing. We got the roti tacos because they are half the price of the naan tacos. I wish I could've tried the naan tacos but $13 per naan taco is crazy.

Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 4 Stumbled upon this place as we were exploring Times Square/Hell's kitchen and I'm soooo glad we did! We ordered the pakoras, 3 roti tacos (chicken tikka, chickpeas and shrimp), masala fries and then the shrimp basmati bowl to go (because we liked the shrimp so much!) The food was absolutely delicious! Fresh and flavorful. Service was great as well and you can tell they work really hard! Ambiance is neat. There are a few tables to sit in and there's a really neat mural. I absolutely would return if I was back in the area! Highly recommend!

Tortillas are made to order right in front of you, and the whole experience just feels authentic and joyful. I had the steak and pork tacos, my friend got chicken -- we went back for a second round. That says everything. A few tips for first-timers: -- Don't sleep on the quesadillas. Seriously. -- If you like crispy tortillas, order the tostada -- they deep fry it and the result is incredible. -- Get the Horchata. It's not overly sweet and pairs perfectly with the tacos. The staff is 10/10 friendly and efficient. Don't be intimidated by the line -- it moves fast. Case in point: on a rainy morning, there was already a line at 11:01 AM (the place opens at 11). People know what they're doing here. The atmosphere is relaxed. They have nice, authentic music playing at all times. Highly, highly recommend.

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

The birria tacos were really good (or so my son said) but sadly the taquitos were terrible. They literally just had unseasoned shredded chicken (but serves me right for ordering something so basic). The energy was flat, and that lack of enthusiasm carried right into the food. The menu needs a complete overhaul. I'm not sure if it's trying to be "different," but the taco options were unappealing just from reading the descriptions. I managed to choose the two best-sounding items I could find, and honestly, they were so bland I don't even remember what they were. The setup and decor were basic. This spot could be a fun hangout, but it would take a better menu and staff who actually seem to care. It feels like just another restaurant that's lost sight of creating an actual experience for guests. The lack of vibe is obvious--if you don't want customers, just say so. I'm giving 2 stars out of respect for the fact that people have to work for a living.

Although I had a reservation, I was instructed to go to the bar. Literally no home at the bar whatsoever. I had to drink my frozen Patron Margarita standing up until a space at the bar open up after 20-25 minutes. Once seated, my area wasn't properly cleaned. I felt awkward and uncomfortable. I reluctantly ordered fish tacos with mild guacamole but was given spicy guacamole. The fish tacos were a little cold. The service was rushed. I left without ordering another drink or more food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall.
