This was on top of my list of food places to try during this trip. I've had it bookmarked for a while and was looking forward to stopping by. The place is small but they seem to be pretty busy. I ordered two chicken tikka masala tacos on naan and a mango lassi, all to go. Had a bit of sticker shock when my total came out to $40+ but oh well, yolo. The food was made to order so it was a bit of a wait but that was fine. Once I had my bag I headed out but didn't realize until I got back to the hotel room that they forgot my mango lassi (ffs!) In hindsight, I totally would have been fine with just one "taco" instead of two because they are so filling- my eyes were bigger than my stomach. I finally tried Taco Masala after seeing it all over TikTok, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The Chicken Tikka Masala Taco with garlic naan was phenomenal. It was packed with chicken, and the naan was perfectly soft and moist without falling apart like some tacos do. This is an absolute must-order if you go here. I also tried the Roti Taco and accidentally ordered the Chana Masala instead of chicken masala, so it was mostly chickpeas and veggiesbut honestly, the roti itself was SO good. It was much lighter than the naan taco, and if you're looking to try multiple tacos in one sitting, this would definitely be the route to go. The Tandoori Chicken Wings were another standout. They were tender, fall-off-the-bone good, and had the perfect spice level for someone who likes mild to medium heat. Honestly, they didn't even need the dipping sauces they came with. One of my old favorites! Since opening day, I have been a huge fan! I don't know how I resist this spot and get it like, twice a week... if I splurged on lunch ever, I'd probably choose Taco Mahal the majority of the time. From the chicken to the lamb, the shrimp & everything but the bagel Naan with its' cream cheese insides, I can't get enough! I love their chutneys too! I just wish the naan tacos had a little bit more of the sauce of the item you're getting, but I understand that could be a disaster. This place is top notch. Save money and get mostly Roti Tacos, maybe one splurge-worthy naan taco. The in store price is a couple dollars less than the Grubhub price which is a dollar less than the TM website price... The eatery is not large, but they have adequate seating, serve large portions with a genius Indian/Mexican fusion, and will make you a return customer. Clean small place in midtown west. We went here before we had to catch a bus from Port Authority. It wasn't too quick though so give yourself some time if you go. The food was very nice. I had a really disappointing experience with Taco Mahal yesterday. I've eaten here multiple times in the past and always enjoyed the food, which makes this even more upsetting. I ordered takeout and part way through my meal I noticed visible mold on the naan underneath my paneer taco. I had already eaten some of it before realizing, which was alarming and completely unacceptable. I took photos of the mold because I couldn't believe what I was seeing (there is also no clear support phone number or email to contact about this on their website). As someone who has supported this restaurant before, I'm incredibly disappointed this happened. This experience has completely broken my trust, and I won't be eating here again. I hope the restaurant takes this seriously so it doesn't happen to someone else. read more

I absolutely loved the concept . Delicious Indian food made even better into a taco. Food was good overall and there are so many options. The venue is on the smaller side so it is hard to find space to eat on a busy day and it might be better as a takeaway or delivery. this is specially true since the staff was a bit on the rude side and there is no courtesy water (you have to buy a bottle) and there is no access to restrooms or even a place to wash your hands before you eat your tacos using said hands.
