The food here is consistently good and they take care to make sure you get the spice level that you can handle. Portions are large and service is always very friendly. Sometimes it can take a while for the food to come out, but the servers make sure that water is on your table so you can refill your glasses while you wait. Their menu is very large, so you are guaranteed to find something for everyone. I loved the tandoori shrimp, which was heavily spiced and were very large jumbo shrimp. I also really love the Mutter paneer for its butteriness and savoryness... the only drawback is their rice. I didn't really care for it and it was kind of dry. Even doused in sauce, it didn't really help it that much. Since I don't like to eat a lot of rice, this was not a problem for me. I will continue to come back and try more dishes. They also have some Chinese items on the menu.

Every time I give this place another chance it is an utter disappointment. Three orders of $6 naan is one piece per order apparently. I also ordered "american mild" for my toddler who is typically obsessed with chicken tikka masala. I couldn't even let him eat it. It was unpalatably spicy for me, and I've been getting "medium spicy" at the restaurant down the street for years. He could only eat the naan of which there was hardly any for our group. I only went here again because the other place is on vacation, and this was an entire waste of money for inedible food.

This place is famous amongst my friend group for all the wrong reasons. To this day, Spice Mantra remains the single most awful dining experience the four of us have ever had in all of our separate lives. After seeing all of the ads promoting this restaurant, we drove a little over an hour to check out what all of the hype was about. Upon arrival, the service was immediately quite strange, our server took awhile to greet us and then really only spoke to one member of our group from that point forward. We ordered a pretty vast variety of dishes, all of which took quite a long time to arrive, while we watched people after us get seated and served with no issue or delay. One of our friends ordered a specialty drink which took over half the meal to show up, and when it finally did it was watered down and melted. The most puzzling thing however, was our waitress starring down our table for most of our visit yet still being extremely inattentive when we needed anything. It made the entire experience feel pretty uncomfortable and unwelcoming. As for the food we had really high expectations coming into it because of all the positive reviews we'd seen online, so we were excited to try it anyway. Aesthetically everything came out pretty much as promised, which I think made it that much more disappointing when each thing was even worse than the last. We started with the Onion Pakoda and Punjabi Samosas and both were unlike any we'd ever had before in the worst way possible, yet we still had faith for our entrees. The mango chicken came in a very small portion size compared to our other dishes which was slightly confusing, but our butter chicken is where things really went wrong. I've had better butter chicken sauce from a grocery store jar than what we were served here. It had absolutely zero flavor and was essentially just chicken in plain yogurt. We also ordered the Spice Mantra Special platter and most of the food came out charred and burnt. At first, we all tried to politely eat our dishes as not to seem too distraught amongst ourselves, but eventually the truth came out when we all sat completely silent and starring off into the distance, at a loss for how to continue to even pretend we were enjoying our meal. After leaving nearly all of the food on the table, waiting forever to pay our bill, which only came to us after tracking down any employee we could find who was willing to help us, and each of us spending upwards of $50+, we left this place still very hungry and extremely confused. I cannot think of a bigger waste of my time or money than the night we spent here. There are many other great Indian restaurants in and around the city, do not let the Instagram and Tiktok reviews fool you, this place is not worth it unless they're paying you to eat their food, and maybe not even then. If nothing else this experience made a long lasting impression on all of us and is certainly one we will not soon forget.

Came here for the spicy fried goat biryani. It was delicious, except it was really spicy. Spice level of this dish is 4 or 5, and it cannot be adjusted to less spicy than that. I also ordered mango lassi, fresh salt/sweet lemonade, and chai, and they were alright. Service was friendly. Fun/ casual vibe with a bar.

I've only been for lunch but I love the food here. It's a very large, busy restaurant with an extensive menu. Casual atmosphere that is good for lunch or a special evening out.

Still a 4 but i wanted to give them a 5. The food is really good. They greet you right away, seat you and bring a carafe of water, and take order when you're ready. The food is a 5 but service after your food arrives... no refills offered, even on the water. Side note, no ice in the water or the sodas. We sat, done eating, for 10-15 minutes while trying to wave down our waiter for boxes and our checks. mild, for me, clocks in at a 2.5-3. if you want 0-1, you'll need to communicate that in some way. Also, items are marked for gf, vegan, and spicy- that's helpful.

I went to Spice Mantra for the first time after hearing great things about it. The food was fantastic. We got multiple different types of biryani, some curry w/shrimp and an order of garlic naan and the onion bread (I can't remember the exact name). I got a level 3 spice in my biryani. When I go back I'll probably up that to a level 4 or 5. Overall, it was a great experience and I will most certainly return.

Lovely place in St. Peters! I had the Dal Tadka at a spice level 3, which I thought was perfectly spiced. My mom had Butter Chicken spice level 1 which tasted like no spice at all comparatively. The chicken was really tender. Naan was fine, I want to try the Cheese Naan next time! Fast and friendly service, but they don't really bother you, which I didn't mind.

We were seated quickly and given the bottle of water to fill our glasses with. It's nicely decorated, and the music/tv was down which was nice. It was a busy place, lunch time on a Sunday. Our food came quickly. I'm not sure what spice level my Chettinadu was. I told the waiter I did like spicy. I shared it with my boyfriend. His nose was running after eating it, but I was ok. I love a nice spicy dish. This was a nice meal! We have already said we would be back to try more on the menu!

Very good food. Service was nearly perfect. Not much for ambience or privacy as it has an open floor plan.

They have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options too. I would say the biggest meat protein on the menu is chicken. They have great music playing and some nights have live singers playing as you eat. They have a full cocktail and liquor menu so grab a drink on the patio and enjoy some gobi and naan to snack on. I loved their kid menu options and names so grab those picky little eaters. They offer a lunch buffet on the weekends too so come and fill those bellies with healthy and tasty food. It's not all spicy but you can certainly tell the cooks to crank up that heat flavor on your dishes. The staff was one of the best parts. They all were so friendly and gave their best recommendations and pairings. They moved as a team and everyone knew what we ordered and got it out fast. This location is very accessible and the bathroom set up is top tier. They have multiple seating options and a chair or two can be easily removed for wheelchair users. The silverware was strong but not too heavy which is great for those with less muscle control or littles learning to use utensils.

I was hopeful that they were possibly just very busy at that moment. The parking lot is shared with several other businesses located in this plaza. There is disabled parking in front of the business, but the ramp is in front of Sauce on the Side next door. As I entered this casual spot, they were very busy on this Saturday night. You can place your order online or at the walk up counter. There were several people in front of me, but the line moved fast. The menu is on the board behind the counter and you can see some of the fresh items displayed. There are some tables inside the restaurant if you decide to stay. It seems that the majority of the people ordered takeout. I ordered the onion pakoda, which is similar to onion straws, and it was a huge serving, enough for 2-4 people. It was served warm and crispy. The onions were sweet and the fried batter had good flavor. I tried the weekend special, which were 3 vegetarian choices out of 5-6: Palak Paneer, Paneer Butter Masala and Eggplant curry. Rice or naan does not come with it. It costs extra. The garlic naan was fresh and flavorful. The Palak Paneer was adequate, mildly spiced, and about what I expected. The paneer butter masala was well-spiced and had a slight capsaicin kick. The eggplant curry was absolutely delicious and rather spicy. I'm glad I had a drink close by. This was a very good value as I had enough leftover for another meal.
