Not your grandma's Indian restaurant! Be very careful with the spice level.... Even mild is pretty hot.... Can't imagine what spicy tastes like. I ordered chicken and shrimp korma in "America mild", my husband order Hyderabadi goat biryani. He ordered it in medium and he said his stomach is on fire. The flavors were so very complex and not anything I ever had before. Menu is huge. If you want a different experience this is it. Highly recommended.

Decided to try Indian food for the first time and I'm happy we chose this resturant. We had a large group with us and the staff was very patient and attentive. The resturant is a nice size and they were able to accommodate our party of 10. The noise level was average. Not loud and not too quiet. Exactly how a resturant should be. The food came out within a decent time and everything taste great. Very flavorful! I used a spice level of 2 while my husband did 3. No one at our table went over 3 spice level (it goes up to 5). Our table ordered a variety of entrée with some including egg and goat. No complaints but they have large portions, in my opinion. Everyone enjoyed their food and some had leftovers. Nice resturant and I would return when I'm in the mood for a good Indian cuisine.

A new Indian restaurant just opened in Ballwin, and it seems tied to a few other Spice Mantra joints in Missouri. I couldn't find a menu specific to this location online, so I just dove in and tried a few dishes. Friendly staff was at the front counter ready to hand my food. Overall, the restaurant is bright, modern, and inviting. Here's what I ordered: Spice Mantra Special Chicken Curry (3.75/5): This dish packed flavor and heat. I ordered "medium" and got what I'd call "Indian medium" -- not watered down, exactly how I like it. The sauce was rich and bold, and the chicken was tender. My only gripe: the sauce was a little heavy with oil, and though there was plenty of it, the ratio of sauce to chicken felt off. - Rice (3.25/5): The rice was mild but pleasant. It didn't have much punch -- a little hint of aroma, but I was hoping for something like cardamom, garam masala, or a bit of onion to lift it. I suspect they might be using ponni rice (common in many South Indian dishes) instead of basmati, which fits if the menu leans toward South Indian styles. - Chili Garlic Naan (4/5): This was the highlight. Garlicky, with a good kick, nicely chewy. Great companion to the curry. Overall, I like the location, the concept, and their ambition. Some tweaks (lighter oil in sauce, more aromatic rice) would elevate it further, but for a new place it's a strong start. I'll definitely be back to try more.

My wife and I are here for the first time tonight and it was amazing. I am originally from California and my hometown has one of the largest Indian communities in the US. I've been searching for good Indian food in Missouri for a few years and I do believe I finally found it. Thank you so much for the amazing food and hospitality and we can't wait to come back.

I ordered the Egg Masala. It left my taste buds singing with the music playing in the background! So tantalizing and fragrant! I highly suggest this restaurant!

Butter Chicken was excellent, best Samosas I've had. Nice local spot, that will definitely be in the rotation for our Indian food evenings.

A friend recommended this place as the "best Indian in STL" and they were sooo right! My partner…read moreand I stopped in for dinner on a weekday, and while the outside might look unassuming, the food was packed with flavor! They were decently busy for dinner with takeout orders and had plenty of inside seating. Our wait staff was very friendly and attentive to every table, taking great care of us. The inside was very classic and spacious, with plenty of room between tables. My partner and I started with the Aloo Pakora, garlic cheese naan, and the onion kulcha. This was a great way to start our experience as the waiter explained each dish to us, as well as the different sauces we could enjoy with it! For our entree, we got a generous portion of lamb biryani and chicken tikka masala. They confirmed what spice level we would like (1-5, with 1 being not hot and 5 being spicy). We got the 3 and thought it was the perfect spice level for us, as people that frequently enjoy spicy foods. To end, we got a ras malai for dessert, which is a cold dessert with milk and pistachios. It was the perfect way to cool down our tongues after the meal. We had plenty of food leftover to have for a 2nd dinner the next day as well, which is a plus!

Great food, service, and atmosphere!…read more This space is massive so bring in your family, friends, colleagues, and teams in for a great meal. The portions and prices are amazing. They have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options too. I would say the biggest meat protein on the menu is chicken. They have great music playing and some nights have live singers playing as you eat. They have a full cocktail and liquor menu so grab a drink on the patio and enjoy some gobi and naan to snack on. I loved their kid menu options and names so grab those picky little eaters. They offer a lunch buffet on the weekends too so come and fill those bellies with healthy and tasty food. It's not all spicy but you can certainly tell the cooks to crank up that heat flavor on your dishes. The staff was one of the best parts. They all were so friendly and gave their best recommendations and pairings. They moved as a team and everyone knew what we ordered and got it out fast. This location is very accessible and the bathroom set up is top tier. They have multiple seating options and a chair or two can be easily removed for wheelchair users. The silverware was strong but not too heavy which is great for those with less muscle control or littles learning to use utensils.

We've been to a number of restaurants over the years that specialize in Indian cuisine. I had read…read moreabout Mint & Martini and added it to my list of places I want to go to. I made a reservation, but when we got there, it was so empty and toldwasn't necessary to have a reservation. We were there at 7:00 on a Saturday night and there were only eight other diners in the huge restaurant and I believe there were four outside. We were seated right away and then menus were brought over. They have an extensive cocktail/beverage menu and a separate food menu that was also rather large. We ordered our martinis and started on the food menu. We ended up ordering way too much food! I had the French Martini and do not recommend it. I had a Lemon Drop Martini after that and it was good. My husband had two Dirty Martinis and liked them. We started with the Samosa Chaat and it was good! It was actually the food we liked best. We ordered some Butter Naan but there was very little butter. We asked the server what his favorite entrees were and he mentioned one of the things I had been looking out, so I ordered it. Then he tells me one diner had complained that it was too chewy. I think he expected me to change my mind. I did not, but wish I had. I had the Lamb Roganjosh. The flavor was good, but the lamb was very chewy because it was full of fat. I have never had an Indian lamb dish that had lamb like that in it. My husband had Goat Bhutan Masala. He said it was okay. It did say it was bone-in goat, but the bones were tiny and hard to find until they were in his mouth. My husband had looked up their menu online and had seen fried jalapeños on it, but they weren't on the menu. They made some for him anyway and they were so hot, they were inedible. We were taken care of by three different people and they were all great! The space inside is huge and the patio probably doubles the seating they have inside. There were ten of us in the restaurant for a while and I think only six more came in before we left at 8:30. They are open from 11:00 AM until midnight. They have live music in Saturdays, but not the Saturday we were there. There are a some Indian restaurants in the area that we really like, so I don't think we'll be back.
