THE VERDICT The silverware and plates are standard... Nothing to boast of. The food is good but you can find better. Good ambience to throw a party for your friends. THE FOOD Food was good. It wasn't bad but it wasn't worth driving for hours. If you are in the area you can stop here and grab a bite. Or if you are looking for a casual dinner place to sit at and chat with your friends while grabbing a few drinks the this is the place to go. I haven't been to many restaurants in this area and I can only say that the food here is better than GIANS but I have had better. Portions are smaller than most Indian places. THE SERVICE The service is good. The servers are polite and serve with a smile but they are a little forgetful and we had to repeat our orders. However it might come from inexperience and in some time this should become better if the servers remain the same. But nothing to really complaint about. The food is not cheap but neither is it too expensive. It is ok for grabbing dinner once in a while

The seating is comfortable, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service was attentive throughout our visit. Most of the dishes lean more toward fusion than traditional Indian cuisine, but the dosas were definitely the highlight of the menu. The dosa I ordered was perfectly prepared and generously stuffed, and I especially loved the sambar, which was flavorful and well balanced. They also have a good selection of drinks, making it a great spot to relax with friends or family while enjoying some Indian-inspired bites. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I would love to visit again.

Walked in an there was a friendly older gentleman who called a young woman to come over to help me place an order. She was super helpful and I told her I was wanting takeout but didn't have much time, and she/they worked hard to help me get my order fast, they even finished faster than I hoped. The food was sooo good, highly recommend. We ordered lamb curry, lamb biryani, chicken biryani, fish pakoras, naans, and mango lassi. Very tasty, great spices, asked them for not spicy fish pakoras for the kids and they were perfect and they loved them. We love to eat and the portions were huge, got another meal out of it the next day. Everything was perfect food wise except the lassi was a little less thick than what I'm used too, but they made it so fast for us it was no problem and the taste was perfect. If we lived in the area we would go more often, but hopefully others check this great place out.

I'm a bit of a refugee in Abbotsford right now and my partner drove up from Portland in Oregon to…read morevisit for a couple of days. As some of you will know Portland has an incredible food scene happening right now so we went out in search of dinner with not too high expectations of regional BC. We wandered around a little then came upon this little gem. Upon entry we were greeted by olde English style decor which threw us a bit but the aromas coming from the kitchen were incredible. I suspect that this had been a part of the bar in a larger pub at some stage. I've read a review on google saying that the menu is limited but this can't be further from the truth if you're after traditional east Indian cooking and not some modern fusion translation of the same. Both the vegetarian and meat/seafood options were more extensive than I'd experienced before in this context. For starters we ordered vegetable samosa to share. It wasn't the usual deep fried dripping with oil fare you normally find. The taste was crisp with all flavours of the ingredients discernible and full unlike most in my experience outside India. I had a glass of the house red and she the white which was half decent for 4.95CD a glass. Next on the agenda was 2 serves of plain Naan with steamed rice and I ordered the chicken tikka and she the lamb korma, medium and mild spiciness respectively. The chicken was moist and full of flavour with the spiciness bearable by my partner but a little on the mild side for me but the texture and flavours were great with hints of every ingredient present. The lamb korma was wonderful, they weren't even afraid to leave a little of the fat there to add to the texture which we both loved. Anyone that orders a spicy korma does not know indian traditional cooking and completely misses the point of the korma countering the spicier dishes. I'd actually ordered saffron rice but plain arrived which was a little disappointing but steamed rice is steamed rice. The naan was crispy in the right places and soft in the middle; just how we like it. Service was good but not great but it's obviously a family run business where the emphasis is on the food. Overall a very pleasant experience and at $63CD in total and with more quality food than we both could eat in 3 sittings very worth while if a little spendy compared to our Portland norm.

I haven't had such bad Indian food in the BC area in the last ten years. Mutter paneer was so watery. Aloo tikkis were ok. Had to wait for sometime for the tikkis and naan. Dal was ok. Cauliflower and potato curry was flavorless. I am shocked that the place is run by punjabis and yet the food is horrible. Rice kheer was *barf* worthy. Never stop by here. And the tea, if one may so call it was burnt. Never again!

We ordered over the phone, and our meal was ready when we arrived. Now that's efficient service…read more Our order consisted of six pieces of fried chicken with french fries for $13. Unfortunately, the portion of fries was RIDICULOUSLY small. They must have given us something like ten fries, and they didn't even season them! I understand that a lot of people are worried about their sodium intake, but french fries need to be salted to taste even moderately edible! And when someone orders six pieces of chicken, they're obviously going to need more than a single serving of fries (just saying). Each piece of fried chicken was quite small, especially compared to chain restaurants like Church's Chicken or Kentucky Fried Chicken. I assume that this is because they use only halal meat in this restaurant (which I'm guessing is more expensive and more difficult to obtain than regular chicken). But to their credit, the restaurant's owners gave us eight pieces of chicken, which we appreciated as it helped make up for the small portions. Unfortunately, the chicken was also not salted and didn't even seem fried. It looked and tasted more like "boast chicken" which is the less oily and less greasy version of fried chicken. I can't speak for any other menu items at this restaurant, but I wouldn't recommend ordering their fried chicken. If you want to get a tastier fried chicken (and you're not afraid of going to Richmond) go to Red Rooster Fried Chicken instead. It's also a fried chicken restaurant, but resoundingly more delicious.
