Paneer Pakoras
Mary-Rose S.

This was my second visit to Ashoka and it was almost as great as the first time I visited five years ago. We had Paneer Pakoras and Sweet Chili Cauliflower to start. DELICIOUS and generous portion size. For dinner we had Mango Chicken, Fish Curry, and Chicken Korma, rice, and Garlic Naan. I didn't love the Mango Chicken but the rest of the food was fantastic!! I would go back in a heartbeat.

Butter Chicken & Channa Masala

This little Indian restaurant doesn't look like much when you drive past it on the one-way in Langley...but it is a really great little place! I think they did a little reno recently too! I love coming to surprising little mom and pop shops! We ordered the Combo A meal...was more than enough for two people! We packaged the rest up and brought it home! The combo includes: Butter Chicken - we ordered medium spice with some extra chilies on the side for my husband!! Channa Masala Rice - with the yummiest fried onions on top...they were crispy and crushed so they were just the perfect texture...they were so good! Raita Naan 2 Samosa Our server was new and very sweet! Very attentive. Only complaint would be that we wanted the 2 Can Dine for 29.95 that they advertise on the sign in front of the restaurant. When the server asked they said they didn't have that special. Our meal deal was $34 so not a huge difference! But I felt like I was seeing things...haha until I saw the sign on the way out that said 2 Can Dine for 29.95!! We've come a few times to this place and always had great food...we will be back!

WAY too tomato soup base
Lorrie G.

We tried to stay local, but it's just not good. The butter chicken I swear has a tomato 'soup' base, the spices are less than traditional. I asked for spicy, it was child's play, the Aloo Gohbi was ok but nothing I'd order again. Naan was bearable. Wouldn't go back and would not recommend, way too many more amazing Indian restaurants out there.

I had lamb do piyaja and onion kuchla for takeout, both of the dishes were awesome. Will definitely try again when in Langley area again.

If you're in the Langley area and craving some Indian food, this is THE SPOT to go. Friends Indian…read moreRestaurant serves authentic South Indian cuisine and are known for their biryani. If you like spicy they can do spicy, but if you also have a milder palette, they can accommodate that as well. *MUST TRY* Fish Pakora (5/5) - $12.99 Taste: The fish is soft, tender, and flaky, coated with just the right amount of spicy chickpea batter - not too thick, and nice and crispy. Topped off with their mint chutney sauce that is cooling and neutralizes the spice. Portion Size: Sharing portion (3-4 people) *MUST TRY* Mutton Biryani (5/5) - $17.99 Taste: Their biryani's are a must try and if you enjoy gamier meats, go with the mutton! It's the perfect blend of spice and the side sauces make this dish the perfect combo - with a spicier sauce and a yogurt based sauce, the blend of the two ensure you don't fall short of any culinary adventure. Portion Size: Large portion - can be shared as an entree for 1.5-2 people. Chicken Lollipop (5/5) - $13.99 Taste: Crispy deep-fried drumsticks (non-spicy option). You can't go wrong here! Portion Size: 6 pieces Chicken Curry (5/5) - $14.99 Taste: Strong tomato base flavours, this dish was delicious with buttered roti or served over basmati rice. Portion Size: Moderate portion - good size for a single entree for one person or shared between 2 people with an appetizer on the side. [Value for Money] Overall, this restaurant serves large, shareable portions at an extremely reasonable price point. Not to mention that the food is delicious and authentic! I'll definitely be back to try more of their dishes!

There are not many Indian dinner buffet restaurants on this side of the Surrey/Langley area so we…read moredecided to give this restaurant a visit. Restaurant was not that busy when we stopped by shortly after the dinner service started. Price was reasonable at $24 a person. Food selection was decent. However, the food temperature was not hot enough for my liking and was only slightly warm for many of the items. Also, we had to ask for roti as it was not automatically offered. The roti arrived pipping hot. My favourite items were the gulab jamun and kheer as both were served in the appropriate temperatures. The gulab jamun was served warm and the kheer served chilled. I did enjoy trying a number of different types of curries and the flavours were quite delicious. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Service was efficient. Our server stopped by regularly to clear dirty plates and refill water. I would consider coming back to try their lunch buffet to see if it was just a one off day. I do think this restaurant is a great option in the area if they can work out the small details. Overall, it was a 3.5 star experience. I had to knock a star down because of the food temperature.

Good variety and the quality is impressive. I have not checked out the lunch buffet but these pictures i am sharing was part of the dinner buffet. Forgive me for not knowing what majority of these dishes were even called. I assure you it's vegan friendly but if you're a protein lower there's just as much meat choices too! But yes my fave dishes that i was able to make room for me in my belly was the goat curry/ butter chicken/ chili fish/ chickpea curry ... mango flavoured icecream / naan bread. I also snacked on a lot of these colourful looking chips? Haha they reminded me of the asian prawn chips that come on the side of peking duck! If you check this place out please try! I even dipped it in icecream and ooo it was yummy! The service was quite pleasant too. They did an excellent job at replenishing food and checking in with customers to see if we needed more water / naan / napkins etc! Loveeeeeed this! Family friendly place/ ambiance was relaxing for a meal date or even if you wanted to watch sports. They've got massive tvs so if you want to grab drinks it's a perfect place too. Lots of parking outside and they take all types of payments. Hope you enjoy your next food adventure!!

The chicken was lightly smokey and a little charred and extremely juicy and tender, the kathi rolls were flawless, and the filling and the sauces brought everything together with the chutney being that last chef's kiss to round it all up. The take out system takes a little figuring out the first time since it's a shared ghost kitchen, but the rolls are easily some of the best I've had anywhere in Canada/US and I very strongly recommend giving it a shot.

Beautiful decor and and layout of the whole restaurant. Big bar with all the expensive liquor and exquisite flavours were quite visible. Big TV screens keeps you entertained but the music is good too. Of course Indian songs and mostly Punjabi songs plays in the background. Now let's talk about food. Definitely few dishes tastes different then the other Indian restaurants. Dal was more home cooked as there was no makhani or cream in it. Beware to those who are expecting Dal-Makhani. Tandoori roti stole the show for me . Very thin and soft. Salad quantity was big but very fresh and juicy with perfect amount of lemon dressing. Looking forward to my next visit to eat more. Lol..
