I've been rocking with Spice Kitchen since they were a pop-up at R. House. The shrimp suya, jollof rice, and plantains had me sold from the beginning. Then I discovered them in Hyattsville, I'd stop by whenever I was in the area. So when they finally came to Baltimore, it was on! Now I'm there at least once a month. After all this time, the food is still flavorful and consistently good. The customer service is always great, and I really enjoy the artwork on the walls. Hands down, AMAZING food! Chef Cam absolutely did his thing -- everything was incredibly flavorful, fresh, filling, and so well prepared. I ordered both the steak suya plate and the chicken suya plate, and honestly, you can't go wrong with either. The rice and stew were absolutely delicious, but the spinach is a MUST , do not skip it! I also tried the beet juice and loved that too. Service was good. The restaurant itself is beautiful, spacious, and has such a great atmosphere. I have encountered so many lackluster West African restaurants so I tempered my expectations. However, when I tasted the meat pies, my concerns melted away. They are the real deal. Spice Kitchen does not miss! I've been there three times and while parking is a little tight, I typically park in the Safeway parking lot and walk over. The food is always hot and fresh almost as if they made it just for me. The staff is a vibe and I've heard that they have events throughout the week at the location. One of these days, I've got to try out the happy hour, but the housemate drinks are a perfect touch to such an authentic meal. I've met the owner on occasion and it always feels like Family! I love Spice Kitchen, I am so happy they have a permanent spot in Baltimore. They had a pop up in Rhouse a few times and I fell in love with the food. This location is very spacious with a full bar. They also offer happy hour during the week. My favorite dish is the lamb chops with the jollof and the spinach. I get extra stew on the side. The food is pretty consistent, I like the beef suya and the wings as well. Eventually I will try the salmon and shrimp but I am just stuck on the lamb chops. They have self serve systems to place your orders. The food is a bit expensive but worth the quality. 4 lambs chops will cost a bit over $35. I'm so glad Spice Kitchen is expanding! What I love about this new location is how spacious and beautiful the restaurant is. It has such beautiful artwork and decor, and there's even a comfy lounge area with a couch, and also an extensive bar! They do have a happy hour with good drink and food options. For the food, I ordered my usual - the shrimp and salmon suya with sides of jollof and spinach. Everything tasted great, and the taste is consistent with their other locations. I did notice that the jollof was a slightly smaller portion here. The other locations give out a lot of jollof, so it was a little disappointing that the portion was noticeably smaller. I also find it interesting that everything is served in takeaway containers even when you are dining in. With it being such a beautiful restaurant, dining in with containers kind of takes away from the nice aesthetic, but I understand if it's not a part of their business model. As a true lover of authentic Nigerian food, Spice Kitchen is absolutely valid. Located in the heart of Canton, the restaurant has a beautiful interior and a very clean, welcoming space. The employees were extremely friendly and even did a quality check to confirm my order was correct -- honestly, that should be standard procedure everywhere. The suya was great, flavorful without being overly spicy, and the rice had a really nice smoky taste. Personally, I would've loved a little more heat, but I understand balancing spice levels to accommodate different palates. This was my first time coming to kitchen Spice and it was very nice. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice, friendly and helpful with the menu. Kudos to Miles. I will say the bar is slightly too high, they either need to drop it down an inch or two or get some taller chairs for optimal comfort. The food and drinks were delicious. First, its easy to miss because of the lack of signage. The food had good flavor but for the price I would say it is not worth it. For me waiting almost 30mins, there is no way my food should have been warm and almost cold. The steak was also very chewing and unpleasant. The rice and the greens were the star. We heard about this place from a coworker and decided to check it out. It's a bit hard to find since there aren't any large restaurant signs, just a small sign by the front door. We ordered the wings, steak, spinach, rice, plantains, shrimp, lamb chops, corn, and the mango drink. Pros: The service was excellent, the ambiance was beautiful, and the food and drinks were good. Portions were generous, which we appreciated. Cons: The pricing felt a little high considering there was no traditional wait service. All food was served in to-go containers, even though we dined in, and the ordering process felt more like a takeout spot than a sit-down restaurant. The alcoholic drinks were on the smaller side, and the seasoning was very strong, I'd recommend ordering with no spice if you're not a fan of heat. Also, the lack of visible signage makes it easy to miss. Overall: This has the potential to be a great spot if a few minor issues are addressed. I would go back again. I really really REALLY wanted to live this place. I'm West African -American, live 10mins walking distance from here there and was so excited to find a new African restaurant in Canton of all places. I've now had it three times... Here's a summary of those experiences. First time I ordered dinner via uber Eats. Absolutely loved it, but noticed very small portion sizes for the $. Legit never seen such small portion sizes at this price point. Ever. Nonetheless I was still excited. My son and partner both enjoyed it, even though they eat far less African food than I. Second time I stopped there during lunch break to grab takeout for me and my partner. I was pleasantly surprised that it was so cute inside with then full bar, African music and nice vibes for a casual kiosk -order type place. The manager there was friendly. I asked why the small portion sizes, specifically for the side dishes and for one of the lamest responses ever-- because they need to fit inside the same container as the main dish. It was beyond laughable. Nevertheless I happy for the delicious food. Sadly, the food was not as fresh as my previous dinner delivery order...... meat tasted like it was siting out even though they had just opened . It definitely was stale... maybe the meat was freezer burned. Nevertheless , I persisted.. figured maybe an anomaly . Third time we ordered dinner again. This time via the Toast App. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh but the portion size for the $18 salmon (no side) entree was maybe 1.5oz ( that is being generous) for $18. It could fit it on less than one half the size of the palm of my hand. I almost crashed out. Like whaat? Sadly it was so delicious my son ate it up before i could take a picture of the insult. I saw this place on Yelp last week and definitely wanted to try and with time today I decided to stop before heading to the mall. I sat at the bar and immediately noticed how nice and welcoming the place felt. The bartender who was also serving people sitting at the tables came and offered me a water and gave me their happy out/cocktail menu and a we code for the full menu. When she returned I decided on my order and she took everything and let me know it shouldn't take long which it didn't. I tried the steak suya, hh wings, and quarter chicken. Everything was delicious. I very much enjoyed my experience and haven't even tried the wings yet but the steak, qrt chicken, jollof rice and plantains have made me literally smile. A few items were not on the physical menu but the workers were helpful with assisting if needed. We ordered lamb chops/steak/shrimp combo with jollof rice and plantains. Also ordered chicken wings with original spice blend. The food came out very quickly! But everything was cold, plantains were hard and wasn't fresh at all. Lamb chops needed more seasoning! Jollof rice was mushy and also cold. Wings were overly fried/burnt. Steak was seasoned well. Very displeased ! For $40 a plate this is unacceptable! read more

They only picked up after 3 times of trying to call. I explained the system was not working for DoorDash and asked to place an order on the phone and he said that was not possible.
