My husband and I are very critical of Thai staple items (Pad Thai, Massaman Curry) but this particular place also has Kao Soi which is always *my tell* of a really great and authentic Thai place. I had the shrimp Kao Soi and it was delicious! The restaurant also has a very cozy vibe without feeling cramped. This was my second time at Spice and it amazing. I have been eating Thai food since I was 5 years old, and hands down I had my best Thai dish ever yesterday! The Gai Yang - Som Tum, which is a marinaded half chicken and a papaya salad (also ordered some sticky rice) was the most delicious meal I have had. The crispiness of the chicken skin had me waking up this morning wanting it all over again. The chicken was sweet and succulent, and the papaya salad was spicy, fresh and crisp. There was wayyyy more veggies Thai tea was a bit watered down. Panang curry was decent. If you like more of the zesty lime flavor than you will be disappointed in this panang. A pretty terrible experience. No greeting when we walked in... just asked "how many".. not "Hello welcome in, how many in your party!" We were one of three tables in the entire restaurant and it took 5+ minutes just to get our drink order. No hi, hello, is this your first time in, I will get that right out thank you... nothing. Also, this was our first and last time in. While ordering water I also planned to ask for an appetizer. Before I could finish my sentence the owner turns away to get the waters and I finish my sentence as he is walking away and his back is to me. He never confirms that he heard me order our appetizer and just brings the waters back. Waiting until customers complete their sentences and actually acknowledging/verbally confirming what they ordered is kind of 101 in waiting tables. Surprisingly the appetizer does arrive, but it is cold. No one wants cold Gyoza, especially if you have ample waiting staff and 3 tables. No excuse. Seeing the lack of care by the staff and owner we did not bother with asking for a hot appetizer. As we wait for food we see the owner and waiting staff on their phones, sitting at empty tables chatting, and just complete unprofessionalism. I understand it is a smaller restaurant so you may see staff more frequently, but customers should not be seeing employees chatting it up when some tables did not even have silverware as food arrived and plates are coming out cold... Where is the management. The food was sub par and management need to make some changes quick. Highly disappointed. read more

The only positive is that they do give you plenty of chicken. Pad gra pao - again this style is just too salty. Just pepper and soy sauce flavor. It's missing that kick, that chili taste. They were also skimpy on the rice - Barely a size of a bowl. Penang curry - good flavor. The only redeeming plate on the table. This one the waitress recommended so her advice was solid. If you do decide to come here, her other recommendations include massaman curry and a ginger dish. Ok this really going to be short. My fiancé LOVED this place. And is ok to me. The place is very open inside but small. If you don't moderate your voice it get loud easily. Prices are reasonable compared with the most. The pad Thai is a must! Alcohol selection is sorta limited. And the wine is meh. SERVICE!!!! Inside is not as bad as if you were ordering online or over the phone. But still is not even ok. Online orders can let you hanging in your car for at least 1hr 15 mins before your meal is ready. The restaurant is not too big maybe 10-12 tables for parties of 2-4. They do serve beer, wine and assorted sake and cocktails. We started off with the sampler which was a nice assorted appetizer! Gave us two chicken skewers, spring rolls, shrimp roll which was a skinny thing I didn't realize what it was til I took a bite, and lastly crab rangoon. Their portions are huge! I'd recommend sharing a meal. I had the thai fried rice which ended up being left overs for lunch the next day! It was presently nicely with very cool cut cucumbers! I selected to add pork but you have many options for the rice. The big difference between the thai and other fried rice is they put tomato in theirs.
